[DO OR DIE 두어다이] ep.7 [ENG SUB] #v:episodes #v:subbed 231 notes meeniemoe I'm getting seriously pissed off at Jaemin. Episode after episode he's shown this unwillingness to improve which I think is really disrespectful to everyone there who is working their asses off to get better.
Yeonin has been working so hard on his dancing.
James has been improving his singing.
Hugo has been improving in leaps and bounds.
Inshik worked hard on his vocals.
Bomseok always worked his off for whatever group he was in.
Inho worked hard and managed to win Cipher over.
What does Jaemin do?? all is what. He's just content with his two lines per song, and when he does more he s it all up for everyone else. I hope he goes home honestly.
#jaemin #i can't believe bomseok and inshik had to go while jaemin stays 33 notes sashay-away i feel like Carver is so bitter on do or die bc he’s already worked with mamamoo and lbr after that everyone else is just a disappointment #Carver Kim 63 notes mariposa
Okay so, let me tell you about my experience at the Do or Die fansign.
Oh man first of all it was sooo hard to even get in! They were doing lotteries through various radio shows and stuff as well as through digital sales of their original songs, but with the show's crazy popularity there was so much competition! I'd bought all of the released songs on 3 different accounts and only managed to snag a spot with the last song purchase. Nuts!
So it was an closed venue, to protect the identity of the ones who'd been eliminated no doubt. When I went the episode with Alex' eliminated had only just aired, so I had no idea that Bomseok and Inshik would be eliminated! Taking pictures was prohibited and we had to sign forms to ensure we wouldn't mention the elimination to anyone before the episode aired.
Like it said in the show, there were 200 of us who'd managed to get a spot in the fansign, and we were each only allowed to pick one person to get a signature from and I was stressing the entire time trying to figure out who to talk to! My Korean isn't very good so I wanted to go to one of the internation ones, but James and Hugo honestly scare me, and I knew there was going to be a huuuuge lineup for Hyuk. I thought it'd be smarter to go with one of the guys who was less popular so I'd get more time to talk to him, but I was conflicted.
Thankfully we didn't have to decide immediately. In the show it looks like there was just the signature part, but they treated it mostly like an actual fansign. There was a small part where they all sat down and talked to us which was really nice! I could understand most of what they were saying since I had a great seat up close, except for Daebak. I guess with the accent it was just too hard to understand him.
You could tell a lot of them were inexperienced with that sort of thing. Hyuk seemed really shy and not really sure what to do, Yeonin was so awkward it was almost painful to watch, Hugo just sat there smiling and hardly said anything, and Seowoo had as much charisma as a street tile. Inho didn't talk much either, he only pitched in when something interesting him I think, but what he had to say was always well thought out and interesting. Still, it was a good thing James, Hanjin, and Yoonshik were there, you could tell they have experience. Surprisingly, both Jaemin and Changui were standouts as well. From the show neither of them look all that charismatic and outgoing, but they were really fun when they started talking. Changui especially was really interacting with the audience more than just showing off himself. He'd try to involve the others around him as well. I remember he was trying to get Hyuk and Jeongha to talk more, who were sitting next to him, and was really good about sharing the spotlight.
I was most disappointed by Jeongha, he was nice but I'd expected him to be suuuuper talkative and energetic like he's been in the show but he just kind of got overshadowed by the others. That just goes to show that people can be very different from how they appear on tv.
Some of them were asked to sing by the fans. I remember thinking to myself that Yeonin was really unsuited for being an idol, he's so awkward, but then he did an acapella rendition of that Rosie song he sang for his audition and I remembered exactly why he's here. That guy was made for singing. Jaemin did a bit of Man in the Mirror too and it was a reminder that this guy is an amazing singer even if he can't really show it off. I wonder why he's not solo? I also remember James did a little dance solo that was honestly more body rolling that actual dancing but WOW. This guy has enough appeal to power a small country.
And then of course Hugo did Pick Me. It was amazing. I just cannot tell you enough how hilarious that was! Hugo managed to be a highlight even though he hardly said anything! Just by being he was a highlight.
Then we had to line up according to our number and were asked to pick one portrait photo and go to that person's lineup. As you all probably know we were only allowed to get an autograph from one person, that was the mission to judge everyone's popularity I guess. Before I had been so conflicted, I've never been the biggest fan of Changui who was the only foreigner who wouldn't be swamped with others, but the Q&A had really changed my opinion about him. The way he handled the attention so easily and was so charismatic but also shared the spotlight just as readily, I can just really respect that.
So I joined the line for Changui and there were so few of us. My number was 178 but there wre only 12 others in front of me. It was more than Seowoo had, mind you, but I think we were the second-least. Even Daebak had a few more fans in line than Changui, but that didn't seem to bother him at all. He was just as cheerful and chatty as he'd been in the Q&A, and we each got like 5 minutes with him which was awesome! I saw the huge lineup for Hyuk and they each had like a minute tops to get a signature and a few words out of him, meanwhile we got to actually chat a bit.
So it took me a while to get my turn because we each got to spend so long chatting with him, but it was totally worth it. When it was my turn already almost an hour had passed but he was still as energetic as ever. We talked a bit in English, he's got a really cute accent, almost a German accent. He asked me where I was from (England!) and he's actually been there! He was telling me about all the things he loved about England in his travels and told me to visit Liechtenstein. The
