Haru woke up and realized she had slid off her futon in the middle of the night. She couldn’t sleep a wink because she kept thinking about what happened. She knew that if she didn’t lie to her parents they were going to be paranoid like her. She wondered how the temple could look like that after a day, it’s like how can it turn like that. She wondered if everything was an illusion but it couldn’t be because she was really there with Junmyeon. They were in the water and none of that could have been faked. What was even more strange was that Junmyeon came to visit her, she was afraid to approach him because she thought that he might harm her but then again he would of harmed her long before when they first met. Haru remembered the look in his eyes, like they were begging her to not to shut him out. Haru shook her head, she did want him to tell her the truth but he was also busy so she gave him the chance next time. She turned and looked at her phone, it was almost noon. She saw a text message from her dad.

“We’re taking Gramps for a check up, we left you breakfast in the kitchen. You look so tired this morning since your lights were still on when your mom came. Sleep in and don’t worry, we brought Jimin to help carry the groceries.” -Dad 10:52am

“I just woke up, let me know when you guys are back.” -Haru 12:04 pm

“Alright, we’re still waiting to see a doctor. We’ll be home later.” -Dad 12:06 pm

Haru crawled back onto her futon, she wondered what Junmyeon was hiding from her. The possibilities could be endless but then again she didn’t know how he would explain it to her. Like how do you explain a temple that was clean and dust free one day to be covered in vines and worn out the next day. She decided to throw that thought away and try to focus on her work, she looked at her phone and text Minah.

“Can you send me the files that I need to work on?” -Haru 

“I’ll send you the whole folder along with mine, thanks love.” -Minah 

“Ha ha, funny.” -Haru 

“How is you’re little vacation?” -Minah

“It’s going good, walking around a lot and sightseeing here and there but mostly eating good food.” -Haru

“That’s good to hear? Did you contact Dongwoo? Whenever I see him, he ask me when you’re going to return.” -Minah

“I told him that I won’t be back for another week.” -Haru 

“It feels like it’s been forever too because you’re not here and it’s very lonely for me. I miss you too.” -Minah

“I’ll be back before you know it.” -Haru

“Well then good luck on your work, I’ll be meeting a patient in a bit.” -Minah

“See you in a week.” -Haru

Haru clicked the lock button and sat up, she grabbed her hair tie on the small bedside drawer but instead she accidentally pushed it to the wall and it slid down the gap between the wall. Haru crouched down and tried reaching for it but it was no use her hand was too big for the open at the bottom. Haru got up and lifted the drawer away to the side, she saw something fall. She turned back towards the wall, an old folded paper and some pebbles with her hair tie. She grabbed the paper and unfolded it, she looked at what was written.

I didn’t write you letters because we saw each other everyday.

Haru felt a tear slip down her cheek and she wiped it away. She felt so sad and couldn’t stop herself from crying. Her tears dripped onto the paper which caused the ink to float off the paper and form into a sunflower. Haru wiped her tears away at the sight of the sunflower, she touched the sunflower which only caused it to turn back into ink on the paper. Haru was shocked, how could this happen. Haru stood up from the ground and immediately ran towards the bathroom. She the water and used her hand to splash a few water droplets onto the paper again. This the same thing happened again as she touched the sunflower. She splashed more water on it and touched it as it faded again. “What’s going on?” Haru wondered. The events of yesterday at the temple was shocking enough but this again was scaring her too much. Haru dropped the paper into the water and the sunflower floated above the paper. Haru reached for the sunflower and this time it didn’t disappear but she was able to hold it. Haru slowly sank down to the ground, “I must be going crazy to see this right now.” Haru looked at the sunflower again, her mind was running crazy. She wondered if there were other things in her room that would turn like this if it touched the water.

Haru heard the front door opening and she quickly grabbed the paper and sunflower. She dashed back to her room and threw them onto the table. She headed to the living room to greet her family members. Haru reached the front door and Jimin handed her a few grocery bags, he didn’t look pleased. “Noona, I’m so exhausted.” Jimin said. “Sorry, I couldn’t sleep at all last night.” Haru said. “Go and help mom, I’m going to get changed. The salted shrimp bag broke and poured some of the juices onto my pants.” Jimin said. “What are we even doing?” Haru asked.
