FlashlightAfter pulling her away from her house, we walked in silence to the nearby drug store. “Don’t move, okay?” I sat her down on the bench in front of the store and ran inside the store to get some ointment, rubbing alcohol, and bandage wraps. Even though I was halfheartedly expecting her to leave, to my surprise, she was still there when I came back out.
“I’m going to roll up your sweats, okay?” I stated as I got on my knees in front of her before carefully rolling up her sweatpants from her ankle to her knee. And as expected, there were cuts here and there that the glass has made. After disinfecting her right leg and wrapping it up, I moved onto her hands and did the same thing. And then we sat there in silence.
“T-Thanks, I think I should go home,” she suddenly got up, flinch a little, and limped away as I follow along by her side. “Are you okay though?” I asked as I watch her limp from the corner of my eyes.
“Yeah,” she replied, not looking at me. I let out a sigh and got in front of her, blocking her from walking any further, “you gotta try harder than that. Remember? I can tell when you’re lying.”
“I’m f-fine,” she looked up at me, forcing a smile with glossy eyes.
“It’s okay to say you’re not. You don’t have to pretend to be tough anymore, it’s only me now.”
And with that, her head dropped down and she started sobbing. Not knowing what to do, I took a step towards her and pulled her in, wrapping my arms around her as her arms remained by her sides.
“W-What have I done?” she muffled out as she continues sobbing into my shirt, “W-What have I done, Yongguk? I should’ve pretended I didn’t see anything, I-I shouldn’t have done that.”
