Past, Present and Future

Home

The morning Jungkook had ran away from home, in pretense of going to school, he had been 15 years old.

It was foolish of him, really, to just head out into the world all by himself. But he felt free, and slowly but surely he felt himself becoming happy.

All the years of abuse, the cruel words spitted against him. Left behind.

But it wasn’t easy for him. Sure, he had planned it for a long time, saved up enough money so he could get as far away as possible, and still be able to buy something to eat, but all that money had to eventually run out, right?

Jeon Jungkook met Min Yoongi and Kim Namjoon for the first time in front of Namjoon’s school.

Yoongi had been standing by the gates, a cigarette between his lips as he waited for Namjoon to finish his last class.

19 years old Min Yoongi was black haired, dark circles under his eyes, smelling of smoke, harsh words underneath a calm and cold exterior and bruised fists.

18 years old Kim Namjoon had been black haired too. But in contrast to Yoongi, Namjoon had been all sheepish dimpled smiles, flailing arms, clumsy legs, flustered spluttering and weak for cute things, like a doe-eyed 15 years old Jeon Jungkook.

“What ya staring at, kid?” Yoongi had asked him when Namjoon had come out of the school and greeted the other with a peck to his cheek as he intertwined their hands together.

Jungkook didn’t really have anything against gay couples, but he had blanked out when he saw the kimbab wrapped in plastic in Namjoon’s other hand.

He was hungry and everything hurt. He hadn’t eaten in a while. They must’ve misunderstood his staring. Jungkook felt his cheeks heat up as he sputtered out “Uh, nothing- sorry, I’m just-”

Namjoon had seen where he was staring at and gave him a soft smile, offering the kimbab to Jungkook and the boy had bowed a hundred times in gratitude.

Namjoon was too smart, and when he saw the huge backpack on Jungkook’s back and the rumpled state of his clothing and noticed his dirt streaked face, he had quickly figured out that Jungkook had ran away from home.

Yoongi could only look on heplessly as Namjoon wailed about how poor the boy was and that he had to go home with them.

All he could do was let out a deep sigh and nod.

Namjoon was too caring and too stubborn to not help anyone, especially a cute doe-eyed 15 years old Jeon Jungkook.

They were standing infront of a door now.

Jimin was nervous. Really, really nervous, because this was it. He was going to meet Jungkook’s friends now and he was scared that he smelled and that his fur wasn’t shiny enough and that he would accidentally bark and embarrass himself and-

The hand suddenly scratching behind one of his ears had Jimin’s mind stop right on it’s track and he tipped his head back as his eyes fluttered shut, humming contentedly.

The hand retracted too soon though and when Jimin opened his eyes, he could see Jungkook already moving to press the doorbell and the hybrid quickly scrambled to hide behind the younger, flinching when the bell rang too loudly in his ears because everything was amped up by his nervousity.

He peeked up from behind the younger’s shoulder, clinging to his shirt as he waited with bathed breath for someone to open the door. Jimin’s ears twitched as he listened to the different voices that murmured from the other side of the door. Someone finally opened it and Jimin blinked as he stared into the eyes of Hoseok, Jungkook’s friend that he met before.

Hoseok blinked back at Jimin, completely ignoring Jungkook’s “Hey hyung!”

“Oh my god!” Hoseok screeched as he reached for Jimin and pulled him into a bone crushing hug. Jungkook could only stare on in bewilderment as Hoseok clung to Jimin as he shouted nonsense.

“I didn’t know Jiminie is a hybrid! A cute and fluffy pup!” He wailed and Jimin felt a little smug as pride welled up in him. Hoseok pulled away, arms clasped onto the hybrid’s shoulders as he stared at the soft ears with wide eyes.

“Look at his ears! So soft and velvety.. oh my god-” Hoseok started to pet Jimin, hands running through his hair and fingers scratching his ears. Hoseok let out a delighted laugh when Jimin let out a yip, tail wagging fast as a silly smile grew on his lips.

Jungkook stood there and watched on with amusement, until he saw Seokjin staring at them from behind Hoseok with surprise. Jungkook gave him a sheepish smile as he greeted the oldest of their group of friends.

“Who’s this?” Seokjin asked, eyes completely focused on Jimin who had his own eyes closed as Hoseok continued to pet him. Knowing Seokjin, Jungkook was sure that he was already captivated by Jimin.

Giving the elder a knowing smile, he reached for Jimin’s hand and tugged him to his side, the hybrid and Hoseok whining in protest but Jimin quickly clammed up and blushed when he saw Seokjin staring at him, giving him a small bow as he murmured out his name.

“This is Jiminie-hyung!” Jungkook chirped brightly, grinning widely.

“And- Uh, he lives with me,” Jungkook added, sounding a little nervous and scared. He was scared of their reaction. But Seokjin only smiled and ruffled his hair.

“Well then, take care of him. I believe in you.” Jungkook grinned and nodded, feeling warmth and relief well in his chest. Seokjin turned to Jimin and ruffled his hair too. He started to scratch right behind Jimin’s sweet spot and the hybrid couldn’t help but blush even more, having gotten so much attention and affection from more than two people in such a short span of time was a little overwhelming for him, but he loved it. He didn’t know that there was more to come.

“Please take care of our Jungkookie for us too, Jiminie,” Seokjin said and Jimin nodded earnestly, delighted that he put his trust in him.

With arms around Jungkook’s and Jimin’s shoulders, Hoseok dragged both of them into the living room as Seokjin walked off into the kitchen, before he too followed the oldest. Jungkook spotted Yoongi lounging on the couch, who had his eyes completely focused on the TV, and plopped down beside him, Jimin sitting on his other side as he peered curiously at the mint haired man.

“Hey kid,” Yoongi drawled, turning to Jungkook with a small smile. Yoongi seemed to freeze up for a few seconds when he noticed the wide-eyed boy on Jungkook’s other side, before his smile returned and he looked at Jungkook again. Jungkook knew that Yoongi was puzzled though, probably wondering who the hybrid was. Surprisingly, Jimin was the one who spoke up first.

“Hello. I’m Jimin, nice to meet you,” he mumbled, voice timid but clear as he stared at Yoongi. This was the first time Jimin had seen a pretty hair color like Yoongi’s and he couldn’t help but want to taste it, wondering if it was as minty flavoured as it looked. Jungkook felt a little proud that Jimin took the initiative first, seeing as he had been so nervous prior, and patted his head with a small, soft smile.

“Good boy,” he murmured and Jimin turned to stare at him, ears pointing up and tail wagging lightly as he had a curious look in his eyes. This was the first time that Jimin had been praised like that. He was used to just hear nice job, or you did great, sunshine! But good boy was completely new, and he liked it.

As Jimin’s eyes started to flutter shut, the sudden sound of someone clearing their throat made him startle and he turned to look at the green haired man again. “I’m Yoongi,” he just said and turned to the TV again. It didn’t seem like he was going to say anything else so Jimin nuzzled into Jungkook’s side, clinging to his arm and after a while, he started to doze off. He must’ve still be tired from the flu, Jungkook thought as he leaned his head on top of Jimin’s, feeling his soft ears twitch every now and then. “Where’s Namjoonie-hyung?” Jungkook asked and Yoongi grunted, mumbling about him having to work or some stuff.

“Is he yours?” Yoongi asked quietly after a few quiet moments, eyes occasionally drifting to the napping hybrid on Jungkook’s other side. The youngest nodded, hand carding through Jimin’s soft locks as he had a tender look in his gaze.

“Yeah, well. Kinda, I guess.. I don’t own him, but he’ll be leaglly in my care soon..?” Jungkook grinned at Yoongi. “He’s my friend, not my pet.”

Yoongi grinned back, “I know that you’ll take good care of him. After all, Namjoon and I were the ones who raised you,” he joked. Jungkook snorted, but it was true that Namjoon and Yoongi had practically taken care of him as their own son these past 4 years they’ve known each others.

“Thanks hyung, for a lot of things. I honestly can’t thank you and the others enough,” he murmured shyly as he fiddled with his hand.

“Yah,” Yoongi groaned out playfully. “Why do you have to make everything emotional?”

Jungkook just stuck his tongue out at the elder.

Min Yoongi is actually a big softie when you get to know him.

Or, well. He’s a big softie to Kim Namjoon. And eventually Jeon Jungkook. He acts cold and aloof in other people’s eyes, but inside he’s honestly just a nervous and panicking wreck whenever someone suddenly talks to him.

“You gotta approach the soft bear carefully, or you’ll startle him” Namjoon always said with a chuckle.

Jungkook learns that Yoongi is a big softie, the couple were childhood friends and Namjoon is more of an uncle than a mom or dad, no matter how much the elder calls him his son. They’re also, surprisingly, very affectionate.

It’s been a month already that Jungkook had been staying at Yoongi’s and Namjoon’s flat. Namjoon and Yoongi had been living there ever since Namjoon turned 16. Somehow, they managed, even through all the hardships they’ve probably been through.

At least that’s what Jungkook thinks. Namjoon was still in touch with his parents, still talked and met with them. Yoongi never mentioned his, and Jungkook didn’t pry. They were on some kind of understanding with each others.

Thanks to Yoongi, Jungkook met Jung Hoseok and thanks to Hoseok, Jungkook joined his dance team. And thanks to Namjoon, Jungkook met Kim Seokjin and Kim Taehyung, and he gained wonderful friends for life

A loud crash from the kitchen startled Jimin and he jumped, a high pitched bark slipping from his lips as he stared with wide eyes at a Kim Taehyung that emerged with a sheepish smile.

Jungkook snickered, “What’d you do this time?” Taehyung laughed and scratched behind his neck. “I uh, just knocked a few things over, no biggie.” He noticed that Jimin was looking at him and he gave the hybrid a smile, walking over to sit beside him on the now cramped couch. Jimin was tense beside him but looked curious when Taehyung reached a hand in front of his face.

“You don’t smell weird anymore,” Jimin chirped, nodding when Taehyung asked if he could pet him. “Are you feeling better now, Jiminie? You can call me hyung if you want!” Taehyung grinned happily. Before Jimin could call him that though, Jungkook burst Taehyung’s bubble with a small smirk.

“He’s actually the same age as you. Older than you, even, by two months,” Jungkook chuckled at Taehyung’s pout and Jimin perked up, tail wagging happily as he crawled onto Taehyung’s lap, causing Jungkook to stare in confusion and a little envy, this time his turn to pout. How come Jimin had opened up to Taehyung so fast? Was it Taehyung’s aura? Jungkook gotta admit that Taehyung is kind of like a fairy.

Yoongi just watched everything with amusement dancing in his eyes.

Taehyung didn’t seem to mind though, already used to such behaviour by meeting hybrids everyday at work. Jimin squished Taehyung’s face in his hands and leaned in close, almost going crosseyed as he proclaimed them 95z duo. The two started to cackle loudly, as if they were sharing some inside joke and Jungkook sunk down even more on the couch, until he felt Jimin plaster himself to his side again. Jimin gave him a peck on his cheek and Jungkook felt his jealousy completely dissappear, a smal grin forming on his lips as Jimin cuddled up to him.

An aw could be heard from Taehyung as a loud groan came from Yoongi.

“You two are sickeningly cute,” Yoongi muttered, before a smirk formed on his lips. “Not as sickeningly cute as me and Namjoonie though.” This time, Jungkook and Taehyung groaned in unison. Even Hoseok yelled from the kitchen for Yoongi to stop.

“Okay kids, the food is ready!” Seokjin hollered as he came out of the kitchen with a pot in his hands, going into the dining room to put it down on the dining table. Everyone quickly got up from their seats and helped to set the table, including Jimin. He almost toppled over from the force of his tail wagging and his body vibrating by all the praises he got from the others, grinning widely as he helped.

“So, Jiminie, what kind of breed are you?” Seokjin asked curiously. Jimin smiled shyly and mumbled out, “I’m a husky and golden retriever mix.”

“That’s amazing!” Hoseok and Taehyung seemed to shout out at the same time and Jimin giggled. Jungkook watched everything with a content smile, feeling happy that they were all together again. When Namjoon comes next time, then it would be perfect, Jungkook thought as he watched with fondness as Yoongi fed Jimin some beef.

They ate and talked for a very, very long time, laughter filling the whole apartment building with joy.

“So, how was it?” Jungkook asked when they were out in the chilly night, on their way home as they walked hand in hand.

“It was fun!” Jimin grinned. “When will we meet them again?” He asked as he swung their intertwined hands back and forth.

“Pretty soon, we always meet up a lot. Hopefully Namjoonie-hyung will come too, then.” Jungkook said and glanced at Jimin, seeing the content smile on the hybrid’s face. “Who’s Namjoonie-hyung?” Jimin asked curiously and looked back at him.

“Namjoonie-hyung is Yoongi-hyung’s boyfriend. They’re like dads’ to me, but Namjoonie-hyung is more of an uncle,” Jungkook chuckled, missing Jimin’s blushing face as he stared at the younger with wide eyes.

“Boyfriends..?” He murmured out and blushed even more. Jungkook hummed in acknowledgment, still not looking at Jimin as he started to ramble about this one time Namjoonie-hyung was going to dye his hair blue but Seokjin-hyung and Yoongi-hyung had swithced the dye to pink and-

“Jungkookie I want to be your boyfriend-”

Jungkook stopped adrubtly and looked at Jimin in surprise, seeing Jimin’s face get flushed redder and redder the longer he stared at him and Jungkook could feel his own face heat up.

“B-boy- Boyfriends-?” Jungkook stuttered out, heart speeding up as he looked into Jimin’s eyes. Despite blushing, Jimin still looked confident, but his flattened ears betrayed the font he was putting up.

“I’m going to become your pet soon,” Jimin murmured quietly.

“But I don’t want that. I want to be your friend, and boyfriend, someone who’ll take care of you too and hug you and kiss you.” He spoke, voice soft and almost too quiet. But Jungkook heard loud and clear.

He cupped Jimin’s face and gave him a tender kiss, lips molding together perfectly as they moved in sync. They drew away and Jimin let out a shaky breath, eyes closed as Jungkook caressed his face.

“You’re not going to be my pet.” Jungkook said with certainty.

“You’re my friend now, and I want to become your boyfriend too.”

Chapter 15: Love the story. The ending may seem anti-climatic to you but it doesn't, to me anyway.
As for rewriting some of the chaps for more details, it is up to you if you want to do it. But for me, I felt that is enough for the story to flow. I will give a suggestion, instead of rewriting the chaps, how about making a short story or compilation stories of jungkook's relationship with the hyungs or something? I don't know how it will work out but just a suggestion.
It is a bit off topic, I know it's been about 2 years(?) since you cut yourself and you are healing from what you said and I hope you are doing well now. =)
Sorry for babbling, I usually don't type such lengthy comment but felt that I should. Anyway, keep writing such awesome fanfic. *hugs*
