Right after I was done unpacking my things, I heard someone knocking at my door. I didn't need to wonder who it was. It must have been Taehyung.
Leaving my comfy couch, I walked to the door and opened it. As expected, Taehyung came in with his laptop, a big smile pasted on his face. Judging from his expression, a good thing must have happened. He chose to sit on the couch and I did the same.
"So?" I began.
"We got access to the footages." Taehyung grinned widely. "Furthermore, the brilliant CEO even installed surveillance cameras at his son's apartment by himself before his son moved in. He surely made our job a lot easier."
"I didn't think getting the footages will be this easy. We don't even need to sneak into Baekhyun's apartment to install surveillance cameras. I guess this is the reason behind that stupid grin of yours."
Taehyung snapped his fingers on my forehead. "Stop insulting me and bring your laptop here."
"Ouch, that hurts." I rubbed my aching forehead. "And it wasn't an insult. It was a statement."
He lifted one of the couch pillows. "You want a pillow fight?"
"I'll get my laptop." I stood up instantly and went to my bedroom. Pillow fight was not my thing. Taehyung would just be the only one having fun throwing pillows. Afterall, I never won a pillow fight against him. He would throw another pillow before I even had a chance to throw one. When I did get a chance to throw one, he would easily dodge it. His agility was just that amazing.
The laptop was sitting on my desk before I brought it out, along with the files Superintendent Oh had given us. I put them on the coffee table in front of the couch where Taehyung's laptop at. He slid down to sit on the carpeted ground, handling both laptops at the same time. I didn't understand what he did to them since I wasn't quite skilled in technology, meanwhile he was an expert in this kind of thing. Moreover, he's also our number one hacker in the headquarters.
"Read the files while I'm installing the software to link your laptop with the cameras. Tell me if you find something important." Taehyung's eyes were glued to the screen.
"Got it," I said as I grabbed both files, opening the one that had nothing written on its cover first.
Our ID cards, student IDs, spare key cards, and papers which contained information about our disguise mission were found inside. Even if our real names were written there, the ID cards were fake. Our real ID cards said we were police detectives, but these cards said we were students. Looking at these, it seemed like we would use our real names. Superintendent Oh didn't give us fake driving licenses, which meant it's safe to use the real ones. I gave Taehyung his ID card, student ID, and instead of giving his spare key card, I gave him mine. In case something happened, we would have access to both apartments. I continued on reading the information about our mission.
"We're going to school tomorrow," I said while reading the paper. "We'll be transfer students from New York, America."
"That superintendent is killing us. I haven't even recovered from this stupid jetlag yet." Taehyung sighed.
I couldn't help but again. "Since when did you become a whiny kid?"
He stopped typing for a second before continuing. "I will really start the pillow fight."
"There's nothing much in this file beside school preparation info, we can just read it briefly before school," I quickly said, trying to change the topic and ignore his threat. "I'll open the other file."
The photo appeared again when I let out the content of the second file, scattering it on the couch right next where I sat. I held back the urge to stick the brat's photo on the wall and throw a knife at it. But no, I wasn't that kind of girl.
Seeing Baekhyun's face again made me wonder. Why did his cold face in the photo look like a mask? I couldn't explain how, but I could see him through that fake expression, the mask that hid his sadness. Even though he looked tough, he looked lonely at the same time.
I wasn't sure how I could tell all of that from only a piece of paper. One thing that I was certain of, he's deadly handsome. Excluding his rude attitude, he would be every girl's dream. Of course, mine too.
"I didn't know your ideal type is a guy like this." Taehyung diverted his gaze from the laptops and stared at the photo which was on the couch. "Give up. He's too good for you."
"What? It's totally the other way round!"
"Go on reading." Taehyung went back on installing software like nothing happened. He totally pissed me off. But, I admitted. He's super great at reading my mind.
"As Superintendent Oh said, those people - he referred them as 'The Organization' here - attempted to kidnap Baekhyun twice before, about a week ago. He could escape both the abductions only because of sheer luck. The first time he was saved by an excellent timing of a police patrol. The second time, a random bodyguard inspection request
