Love is late (pt.3)

Jongdae's POV- (pretty much his pov from the last chapter)

He had returned to Korea after almost four years time in LA, he was now visiting with his girlfriend Wendy (who his parents had initially set him up with but as time went by he started to gain feelings for her, whether it was real or not was something he was still trying to figure out)

(On the day you went to first meet Joshua at the cafe)- Specifically when you passed by a couple at the crosswalk

I was casually walking hand-in-hand with Wendy as i showed her around my hometown since this had been her first time and all in Korea

(Wendy)-Jongdae oppa she said right when i noticed a girl in a pink dress walk past us who had a familiar face but i was then focused back on Wendy who had been begging for food the moment we left my apartment

(Jongdae)-Right where do you wanna go jagiya?

(Wendy)-How about the restaurant right over there (that served anything you could possibly want)

(Jongdae)-Alright let's go😃😃😃😃

(enters the restaurant and finds a table)-

(Wendy)-So oppa what would you recommend?

(Jongdae)-(who was completely in his own world wondering why that girl seemed so oddly familiar was completely spaced out forgetting about Wendy existence)

(Wendy)-Oppa you ok? (she said tapping his hand gently)

(Jongdae)-Yea sorry, umm what did you ask me?

(Wendy)-Just what you would recommend for a first timer like me

(Jongdae)-Umm well since you don't like spicy foods how about the galbitang

(Wendy)- That sounds great! I'll be back i have to head to the restroom

I was then alone in my own thoughts about "her" was she possibly someone i knew? why does her face remind me of someone special? were we ever in love?

(A few days later at the college campus)-

I had realized that she was in a majority of my classes for this semester, everytime the teacher said Yumi the more the memories started to return, i remembered how i couldn't ever forgive myself for leaving her behind that day knowing that she may hate me i was only able to look at her from a distance

She would be her cheerful self with whomever she was around, thinking about other's before herself which was one of my favorite qualities about her and one that i missed dearly, since it seemed like it was just yesterday when she took care of me whether it was a cold or an injury from sports, as she'd nag me to do my homework and dress warmly. But i see that position has been already taken by someone else while i was away~

By a guy named Joshua who seemed like a nice guy who would treat Yumi right and not betray her like me, rather than being jealous i was simply happy for her^^ (#lies)

There had been times i would walk past her wanting to say "hi, it's been a while i missed you" asking how she's been but where ever she was Joshua would be there as well which frusterated me at times since even me and Wendy would keep a distance sometimes, and know when to date according to each others schedule. As anyone who's not "jealous" of being able to spend with her,  i found that as an "observation" that he didn't need to be around her every minute of everyday.

(Gets a call from Wendy)

(Wendy)-Oppa do you mind staying with me at the library afterschool tmrw since i have this huge english essay? i know this is really last minute and all so if you already made plans then i'm fine

Before i could even respond back to her right at that moment coincidentally i had overheard Yumi talking to Joshua about staying afterschool in the library as well, which i thought would finally be my chance to talk and catch up with her hoping she won't be mad after four years.

(Jongdae)-no i'll do anything for you jagiya btw where are you? i'm outside the campus

I then heard her hang up to then hear footsteps approaching from behind me to then having a pair of arms around my waist

(Wendy)-Im right here oppa (she said as she leaned her head on his shoulder looking like a couple of highschool sweethearts)

He then took her hand in his with their fingers intertwined

The next day

(Afterschool where he had been waiting for Wendy inside the library, with also waiting for you and Joshua to enter the library at any minute)

Wendy then soon arrives seeing that Jongdae had been sitting near the windows and grabbed the seat right next to his

(Wendy)-Oppa thanks for staying with me today, and fyi if i started being a due to my stress levels i will apologize in advance

(Jongdae)-(laughs while pinching her cheek saying)-you'll never be a in my eyes

And soon enough you had entered the library at that moment with Joshua who kept your attention the entire time that you never even noticed Jongdae's existence

Hours and hours went by as Wendy was typing without rest and Jongdae falling asleep while he had secretly waited for the perfect timing like he had in his head

(His scenario/dream):

(Joshua)-Ohh hey Yumi-ah i got to go my girlfriend's waiting for me, thanks for your help today

(You)-What do you mean girlfriend?! weren't we having a "thing" going on?

(Joshua)-What are you talking about? I never had feelings for you i just used you for History help, see you around

Right then you were left in tears as your head leaned on the desk you were only left with the wound deep in your heart

And at that moment you felt a hand on your shoulder with a familiar voice saying "he doesn't deserve you"

Which would be when you would turn around to face him after 4 years

(You)-Kim Jongdae? OMG you're back! (she said as he imagined her to give him the hug he's been waiting for all this time)

(Jongdae)-Yumi-ah i'm sorry i left, i never meant to leave and hurt you it was that my parents-(at this moment he would be interrupted by a KISS? which you could say left him smiling without him realizing)

(End of dream)

He then was woken up by a hand that happened to be Wendy's signal that she was finished and ready to go!

(Jongdae)-What time is it?

(Wendy)-Around 9, ready to go? you look tired

(Jongdae)-Notices joshua leave and you alone which he thought would be his last chance so he then replied with a lie to Wendy saying "I actually have some more homework to catch up on, i'll text you later jagi" (he said giving her a kiss on the cheek before waving bye)

It was now only you and him left at the library but unfortunately you were too focused on studying for the History final with Joshua's helpful notes that you never noticed Jongdae literally staring at you from across from your table leaving hims frusterated and disappointed in himself for thinking that this would be some sort of a scene straight from a drama where the girl and guy would automatically recognize eachother and hug confessing their true feelings.

Until suddenly you had risen from your desk and headed towards the shelves to find more books along with your phone you had brought along in case you couldn't remember the title of the book, as you went from shelf to shelf Jongdae was always one step behind you making sure of your safety but also just enjoying the fact that he was right next to you finally, after only being able to see you from a distance.

After walking around for about the fifth time he still hadn't gained the guts to simply tap you on the shoulder or help you with your books (what was i thinking?! he kept asking himself)

Suddenly as you were carrying your books you had accidently left your phone on the shelf you were last at as you realized the amount of books you were carrying meant you wouldn't have room for your phone, and the fact that you had no pockets on you didn't help at all^^

Jongdae then took the chance to take the phone and return it to you personally but something inside of him stopped him from doing so right when he noticed that you were coming back towards the shelves and had panicked with then returning the phone back to its original place he then hid going across the library to then only being able to send a text, and calling you as he then hoped that you still kept his number

(You)-I swear my phone was right here! (says at the wrong shelf)

(You then heard a familiar ringing and rushed towards the sound to see a possible wrong number but answered it anyway)

(You)-Hello who is this? (at that moment his heart sank after finding out that you deleted his number)

(Jongdae)-It's me don't you remember? you're still clumsy as always aren't you (he said lastly before he then hang up the phone and sneaked out of the library after taking his belongings with him in a hurry hoping you wouldn't notice him at this point)

When he arrived home he rushed towards his bed letting out a huge sigh, after realizing how much time has changed everything (Even you) he simply had wanted you to remember him and continue the long term friendship the two of you had shared (or was it something more that he had wanted?)

Sorry if this chapter disappointed some of you (who were expecting what would've happened the day after the cell phone incident, but i assure you that i'll update you guys on that in the next chapter of future chpts so stay tuned and feel free to share you thoughts)-vixxlover123
