It was awkward back in our room together. I was smiling like an idiot and I kept trying to steal glances at Donghae. He was sitting on his bed, playing with a small trinket I'd given him just before the crash about five years ago. It was a little monkey trinket made of plastic. It was a stupid, cheap little thing really. But it made me really happy to see that he'd kept it. My heart overflowed with happiness. I wanted to keep this moment forever, and never let it slip from my grasp. He looked my direction and I turned my head away quickly. His eyes were sweeping my exterior. I could feel them on me. My head swayed slightly to the beat. I couldn't hide my growing smile. Donghae set the trinket on his side table gently and pushed himself off of the bed with his hands. I tried not to pay attention and looked out the window, still humming. His toes touched the navy carpet, disheveling the short fibers. I looked at him out of the corner of my eye and he was smiling at me. I looked out the window again and watched people walk by the dormitory.

Donghae:

I know that song. Not many people know it. But I've always loved it. I was surprised that Hyukjae knew it. It made me happy. I felt like it was something we could share between just us two. His voice rang in my ears, leaving a pleasant feel in the air. I never wanted this moment to end. I suddenly had the strong urge to hold him in my arms. He looked as if he were glowing. The light from the window surrounded him and illuminated the outline of his skin, making it look as if there were a halo of light radiating from his body. I stepped on the carpet and walked over to his side of the room slowly. I didn't want to disturb him. He was swaying back and forth, and his voice was so perfect. SM seriously never gave him enough singing parts... I crawled onto his bed silently, and tried to to make it shake, or the blankets pull or tousle. I lifted my arms and cautiously wrapped them around his shoulders. I set my chin on his shoulder gently, and whispered into his ear. His hair ruffled from my breath on his cheek. "Please don't deny me. Just let me hold you." He stopped humming.

His scent wafted closer. I breathed in deep through my nose, taking it in. He smelled like shower gel and bayberry. I became more and more aware of how close he was with every step he took. I could feel his presence drifting my direction, even if I wasn't directly looking. His weight made the bed shift, and I pretended to ignore it. The next moment, his arms had wrapped around my shoulders from behind. My heart jumped, and his chin rested on my shoulder. He whispered into my ear softly, and my hair blew around, tickling my cheekbone. "Please don't deny me. Just let me hold you." I stopped humming. My stomach twisted. No one had ever said anything that sweet to me before, not even my mother. I felt his face adjust into the curve of my neck and nestle there. His hot breath was brushing across my bare skin. He started to rock back and forth with me in his arms. I lifted my left hand to cradle his face
