There he is again. Sitting on the bench facing the lake, all bundled up. Myungsoo couldn’t help but notices the lonely figure that frequently sits in the park near his home. He remembers the first time clearly, it was on the first day of snow.

Everyone was rushing to get out of the unexpected descending flurries of white. Snow had come early, no one was prepared including Myungsoo, except for the male who was sitting in the park. Jostling from a fellow pedestrian side-tracked him and Myungsoo found himself looking into the park. The lone male in the empty park, wrapped up in thick winter clothing, immediately caught his attention. As if frozen in time, the male was rooted on the bench gazing far, despite the snow that was gradually covering the empty ground. Myungsoo grabbed his camera and captured the picture-perfect scene. He did not think much about it except that he just gotten another good shot for his album.

It was two weeks later when Myungsoo noticed the solitary male in the park again. It wasn’t snowing but the weather remained unwelcomely cold. It made him wondered what was so attractive in the park that kept the male there despite the shivers he observed racking the tightly wrapped body. This time though, Myungsoo found the way the male angled his head towards the sky somewhat familiar, seemingly mapping into distant memories buried deep in his mind. The memories were too vague though for him to recall anything specific. Myungsoo snapped his second picture of the male.

Myungsoo decided to venture across the road towards the park, the third time he caught sight of the male. He wasn’t sure why he was doing so but the urge to see the male clearly was the only thought in his mind. He did remember to keep a respectable distant away, not ready to intrude into the other person’s space. The male was staring aimlessly at the almost frozen lake, puffing into his hands occasionally. Myungsoo stared hard, the feeling of familiarity growing stronger as the seconds ticked by. At the same time, the frustration was growing as he just couldn’t reconcile between his feelings and his memories. He lifted his camera and clicked away, the distinct shutter sound alerting the subject. Myungsoo turned and dashed away, unsure of what he was supposed to answer if questioned.

He has been trying to keep away from the park, still felling embarrassed for almost being caught spying. But his legs seem to have a mind of its own, always leading and stopping him at the pavement across the park. Myungsoo stares at the male dressed in white, an angelic image that he couldn’t ignore. An old conversation long forgotten, pops up in his mind.

“Hyung looks best in white. You look just like an angel!”

No matter how hard he thinks, nothing concrete comes to his mind on the fleeting conversation. Myungsoo sighs exasperatedly, he has no idea why the sight of the male always sets off his mind. He automatically zooms the camera, capturing another shot for his increasing collection. He heads home but not before taking another longing glance. Myungsoo immediately heads to his darkroom when home, emerging much later with photos in possession. He does not notice his mum sneaking behind him as he inspects his prized collection.

“Isn’t this Sunggyu? Is he back? Why didn’t you invite him to our place? It has been so many years since I last saw him.”

Myungsoo jumps at the sudden voice, dropping the photos on the floor, which are immediately pick up by his mother who casually examines the pieces.

“Who is Sunggyu? You know this guy?”

“Oh right, I totally forgotten you don’t remember him due to your high fever bout after they went overseas for his father’s posting. Plus, you were so young then, only nine. But the two of you were inseparable before that, always waiting for each other at this park next to our old house.”

As if the photo held up by his mother is the key, his mind starts unlocking the distant memories.

“Gyu hyung, wait for me!” Five years old Myungsoo chases after the taller male.

“Hyung, let’s play hide and seek!” Seven years old Myungsoo ties a handkerchief over his hyung eyes.

“Hyung, don’t go!” Nine years old Myungsoo crying messily in his hyung’s warm embrace.

Myungsoo dashes out of the house, legs taking him as fast as possible to the park. He starts shouting for his hyung as soon as he is in the park vicinity, finally spotting the male standing near the lake. Sunggyu seems to have heard his calls, now looking in his direction with a dazzling smile. Myungsoo races up to the older male, tightly hugging the hyung who has finally reappeared in his life.

“What took you so long?” A sobbing Myungsoo asks.

“What took you so long?” A shivering Sunggyu asks.

A very belated Happy Bithday to Gyu! This was meant to be written for Sunggyu's birthday but I been busy with a new job and part time studies. I have to settle for late is better than never :p Inspired by a pretty old clip from BOAF. I really hope Infinite film another variety show soon. They really bring me tons of laughter,

Recently read that some writers are leaving AFF or the Infinite fandom. Pretty sad to learn about this since there are some stories I'm still looking forward to its completion.
