~Four~

My pain, My comfort

Byun Baekhyun stared up at the front doors.

Today's the day... Baekhyun thought looking up at the shop with a grin plastered onto his face. First impressions are the most important thing...

He walked into the shop walking straight to the counter.

"Hi, I'm Byun Baekhyun. I'm the new-"

"Byuntae!?" the women behind the counter gasped. All heads turned to face the scene. Baekhyun shook his head.

"No no, it's Byun-"

"-Tae!" she yelled. "You just openly admitted that you're a Byuntae, a ert!"

"It's not like that-"

There were whispers from the customers. Things like:

"Byuntae? Ew!"

"Darling wear this and cover yourself from those.erted eyes,"

"Ew, gross... Imagine he already... You know... Did that," Baekhyuns cheeks were becoming red, fast.

"No, I'm the new part-timer here," he said.

"A byuntae as a part-timer? Here? That's even worse!" she said wrapping her arms around her chest in an attempt to hide them away.

"I'm not a byuntae!" Baekhyun yelled a little annoyed. "Gosh listen to people when they speak!"

"What's going on here?" Baekhyun turned his head to the new voice. A man just a little older than him said.

"Ah! Suho-ssi!" the young women bowed. "This Byuntae here says he's the new part-timer!"

"Byuntae? He doesn't look like one." the man turned to Baekhyun. "What's your name?"

"Hello, I'm Byun Baekhyun." Baekhyun bowed formally.

"Byun... Tae?" he gasped.

"No! That's not it! It's Byun Baek-"

The man chuckled, "I know, I'm just messing with you. Don't worry,"

Baekhyun sighed in relief. The young women spoke.

"But he said he was a byuntae!"

"Stop it Tiffany, he clearly said 'Byun Baekhyun' not 'Byuntae'. Get your ears checked next time." Suho said. "Anyway Baek, I can call you that right?"

Baekhyun froze wondering a little before nodding. "Yep."

"Right, so Baek, follow me." Suho turned and led Baekhyun to the back of the shop.

"Just fill out this form for us and then you can clean some of these stuff away,"

He pointed at the mountain load of rubbish that almost reached the ceiling. Baekhyun's jaws dropped.

The ? Do they ever clean?

He didn't complain though. After all...

First impressions are most important.

Suho handed Baekhyun a paper. Baekhyun gladly took it and began filling it in. He signed it at the bottom and gave it back to Suho.

"That was fast..." The older smiled and took the paper.

"Oh, right. And there's a uniform I have to give you," he said. "Follow me,"

They came to a small dressing room. Baekhyun looked at the closet which was lined perfectly with untouched uniforms.

"What's your size?" Suho said shifting through the uniforms.

"S-small..." Baekhyun said suddenly feeling very petite. There was a small tug on the corners of Suho's lips.

"Small eh? Not very muscular I see," Suho smirked.

Baekhyun looked away keeping his mouth shut.

"Ah, here it is..." Suho took out a uniform. "This is the one,"

"Baekhyun took it. "Thanks,"

"Use that small changing room over there and then get to work,"

Baekhyun bowed. "Yessir!"

"Also, loosen up kid. Everyone here's friendly," He said walking away.

Baekhyun entered the changing room taking the shirt out of the  packet. He's blood ran cold.

It's short sleeved...

He stared at it for another moment or two before deciding to wear it over his top...

"Wow, you look like you've been working here for thousands of years. The uniform totally suits you Byuntae,"

"I'm not a Byuntae!"

"Gosh it's a nickname, Byuntae," Tiffany said on a strawberry lollipop. "But damn you can clean. I thought a byuntae like you would be... Messy... If you know what I mean."

"Nope. I don't," Baekhyun said grinning widely at his achievement. The mountain of rubbish was now nothing.

"Hmm... Good job. Now you can clean up those piles over there." Tiffany pointed. Baekhyun turned his head to the direction she was pointing at. His jaws dropped.

"What actual ." Baekhyun stared at the two enormous piles of rubbish. The one he just cleaned was just a hill compared to the two giants standing before him.

"Oh my gosh you can't be serious."

"Class it as punishment. The punishment given to byuntaes." Tiffany smirked and began mumbling. "Aww if only Taeyeon wasn't sick,"

"Taeyeon? Who's that?" Baekhyun said getting things from the cleaning

"Another part timer here, like you," she said. "And a pretty little thing too,"

"Meh, sounds like a trouble maker to me,"

On his first day, Baekhyun had already became friendly with Tiffany. Everything was like a breeze apart from the actual working... Well in Baekhyun's case; cleaning.

"Mmm... You could say she's a very... Rebellious teen." Tiffany said. "I feel for those boys she played with..."

"So... She's a player? Pfft, and you call me the Byuntae?" Baekhyun scoffed.

"Yeah, I call her the player and you the Byuntae... Hmm a Byuntae and a player... Perfect match!"

"No! No no no... That won't work. Never."

"Why?"

"Because... Um..." Baekhyun couldn't think of anything...

"Because?"

"Because... Because I like boys!" he blurted out. Tiffany raised her brow.

"You could've came up with a better excuse like 'I already have a girlfriend' but I guess saying you like boys is... Okay. Pffft..." she tried hard not to laugh.

"Let it all out. You look ugly when you try to hide a laugh." Baekhyun sighed getting to work.

And behind him was a loud laugh that could be heard from miles away. God bless the poor boy whose ears were currently being buried harshly deeper than six feet under ground...

"Hyung it was a disaster, I'm telling you! Seriously! It's worse than your cooking! They were mountains! Like  literally surpassing Mount Everest!" Baekhyun yelled over dinner. His hyung watched him amused.

"Welcome to the life of work baby bro," he said clapping.

"Quit the sarcasm. Seriously."

"Yaa you started it saying things about rubbish the size of mountains!"

"That's exaggeration hyung not sarcasm," Baekhyun said unamused.

"... Shush dear child, the older the wiser."

Baekhyun scoffed placing a carrot in between his lips.

"This is good. Probably the only edible thing you made so far."

"I'm touched," Baekbeom said placing his hands over his heart and faking tears.

"I take it all back."

"Tch... Mean child."

They carried on with dinner bickering about Baekhyun's first day in the life of work.

"Oh and this one girl called me 'byuntae' when I was trying to tell her my name!" His hyung stared at him like it was the most normal thing in the world. "What? Why aren't you reacting?"

"That always happens. Everyday baby bro." his hyung explained. "It even happened to Dad in the past and our ancestors too. I guess our family is known for the Byuntae misunderstanding. Get used to it."

Baekhyun's jaws dropped, a piece of cauliflower fell out of his mouth.

"Ew that's gross..." Baekbeom grimaced playfully picking up the saliva covered vegetable with a cloth.

"I don't wanna be known as Byuntae Baekhyun..." Baekhyun mumbled  slowly falling into deep deep depression just by thinking of a future filled with 'Byuntae'.

"Hey byuntae, I heard you work part-time now,"

Baekhyun opened his front door about to start his journey to school when suddenly a certain giant appeared at his doorstep.

"W-what are you doing here?" He mumbled remembering their last encounter which didn't end very well.

"Came to pick you up," he said reaching his hand out for Baekhyun to take. Just then a voice from inside called.

"Baek! You forgot your lunch-" he froze when he saw Chanyeol at the door. "Who's this Baek?"

"Hi, I'm Park Chanyeol, I'm his boyfriend," Beakhyun's jaws dropped.

What?

"Boyfriend? Baek, I didn't know you liked guys. Although I don't really mind, but wow, you have good taste. Very handsome indeed,"

"Hyung! I-it's not l-like that! I-"

"It's okay Baek, I understand. But wow how long have you guys been together for? Hey hang on... Weren't you the one who saved him before he fell off the hospital building?"

"Yeah that was me," the taller male said.

"Wow... So have you been together since then?"

"Pretty much. Anyway hyung as much as I want to sit down and have a chat, we're gonna be late for school so..." Chanyeol said pulling a tongue tied Baekhyun with him.

"Oh, yes you guys have to get going... Cya Baek," Baekhyun could only nod still experiencing the shock. He was then dragged to school by a certain cruel giant.

"Why...?" Baekhyun barely whispered while they walked.

"Mm, because I felt like it," was the answer.

"I don't like guys. I'm straight." Baekhyun mumbled.

"I don't care,"

They were just a few streets away from school when suddenly Baekhyun was roughly pulled into an alleyway.

"Wh-where are we going?"

There was no reply.

"Y-Yaa..."

No reply.

"P-park Chanyeo- ah!" Baekhyun felt his back hit a wall hard.

"My name..." He said. "Say it louder Baekkie,"

"What..."

"Louder..." The taller male stared at the shorter, his eyes filled with something Baekhyun was frightened of.

"D-don't hurt me..." His small voice begged. "P-please..."

Chanyeol took a deep breath in leaning in close to Baekhyun's ear. He blew softly sending chills down Baekhyun's spin.

"Baekhyun..." He whispered.

He said my actual name...

"Run."

"What...?"

"Run."

W-why...?"

"I'll give you three seconds. Three."

He let go of the smaller boy.

"Two."

Baekhyun stared into his eyes. His mind spoke...

Touch me again, say my name again, Park Chanyeol...

But the words were ignored, like suffering orphans.

"One."

Baekhyun moved. His feet becoming faster and faster.

"Zero."

He ran away...

"That wasn't very wise Park Chanyeol."

"You're already here?"

"It's about time, no? He will find out soon. Very soon."

"I know."

"What will you do when that time comes?"

"... Kill him."

"You were meant to do that two years ago-"

"I know!" He yelled, his cool slipping a little. "I know..."

"What's stopping you then?"

"Give me time."

"You've said that before too."

"Please."

"Fine. I'll give you less than a year."

"Th-thank you,"

"However,"

Chanyeol's blood ran cold.

"If you fail, I'll get my son to do the job instead."

"...I understand."

"Good. Now get to school,"

"Yes sir." He bowed and left.

Baekhyun heard the school bell cry behind him.

Shut it. You have no reason to cry stupid bell...

He didn't go to school. Instead he ended up in an isolated park. A small one. The one he used to go to with his hyung and mother when they were younger. He walked up to the swing and sat. Tears falling out of his eyes.

Just a little...

He reassured himself. His shaky hand slowly made it's way into his pocket and he took out a sharpener. He threw it on the floor and stepped on it, harshly, breaking the plastic. He picked up the blade.

"Only a small one. Only one..." He said to himself and penetrated his skin slowly with the blade.

A hand held his.

"That isn't a wise thing to do,"

Baekhyun looked up to see a boy. Quite tall and he had a dimpled smile.

"Who are you?" Baekhun said, his voice quivering.

"Me? I'm Zhang Yixing, but call me Lay, it's easier."

"I'm Baekhyun. You're Chinese?"

"Yeah."

"Your Korean's good."

"Thanks, I've been practicing ever since," he smiled that dimpled smile. "You shouldn't do that,"

He took the blade.

"You're just making yourself ugly." Yixing said tossing the blade into a nearby rubbish bin.

"I'm already ugly." Baekhyun grumbled.

"... Scream."

"What?"

"Scream." He repeated. "Yell as loud as you can. Release the pain that way,"

Baekhyun stared at him.

We're in the city. Who screams when there's people passing by 24/7?

"I'll pass."

"Oh... You probably would feel awkward right?" He stared into space, "Maan back in China I lived in the country that's why it was easier."

"Really? You look like a city kid,"

"Pfft! Far from it," he laughed.

"Aah... Now that I think about it, why aren't you in school?" Baekhyun asked.

"I could say the same for you."

"I'm... Things happened and I just... Ended up not going." He shrugged his shoulder. "You?"

"I'm starting tomorrow. New transfer you could say," he sat on the floor.

"So, are there any good bubble tea shops around?" He said.

"Bubble tea?" Baekhyun thought."Oh yeah there is one quite near to here. It's my favourite,"

"Really? Let's go." The Chinese boy said happily. "You see, I've heard about it but I've never tried it before, that's why I wanted to try it."

"What! You've never had bubble tea before?" Baekhyun gasped. "You're missing out,"

"Exactly. So let's go," he said smiling his dimpled smile...

The next day, Baekhyun happily skipped to school oblivious to the cruel world around him. Chanyeol didn't even come to bug him.

He sat on his desk.

"Yaa! Where were you yesterday?" Kyungsoo scolded.

"Sorry... Things came up," Baekhyun said.

They talk for a while and before Baekhyun could tell the owl eyed boy about Yixing their homeroom teacher stepped in.

"Get to your seats." He said. The students shuffled around taking their seats.

"Right class, we have a new transfer student."

"Transfer student?" Kyungsoo whispered. Baekhyun shrugged his shoulders.

The classroom was full of whispers.

"Come in,"

Baekhyun's eyes widened.

"Hello everyone, I'm Lay. Nice to meet you all." The boy bowed. "Please take care of me!"

"Lay?"

The said boy turned his head. His eyes also widening in surprise and happiness.

"Baekhyun!"

"You never told me that you were gonna transfer here!"

"You never asked! And I thought yesterday would be just a one time thing and we'd never see each other again," Yixing smiled his dimpled smile. "I'm glad we did though,"

"Same!"

Baekhyun and Yixing were talking over lunch. There were already girls trying to grab Yixing's attention.

Kyungsoo examined the new transfer carefully from where he was perched on the chair.

They'd normally be on the roof but today they were at the cafateria eating lunch.

Kyungsoo couldn't help but notice...

Something... Isn't right... But I just don't know what it is...

Kyungsoo continued to examine the Chinese transfer silently, like a hawk.

"My mum used to call me unicorn back in the days you know!"

"Okay, no offense, but that's worse than being called puppy,"

They laughed and talked about the most random things while Kyungsoo sat watching and munching on his kimchi.

And there was another pair of eyes watching from afar...

The same ones from the funeral and the hospital...

Long time no see comfort, I made a new friend, Zhang Yixing. He.Is.Amazing. ~Baek

He sounds amazing. You haven't contacted me in ages! ~comfort

Ahaa... Sorry, oh and did I tell you about part-time? Everything was good abart from one chick how called.me Byuntae Baekhyun. ~Baek

Byuntae!? Hahaha! You not one right? ~comfort

What!!! NOOO! I ain't a byuntae!!! >:( ~Baek

Hahaa, I know you aren't. I'm just teasing you. ~comfort

.... Are YOU a byuntae? ~Baek

Hmm... Yes, no... Maybe... You never know ~comfort

Eww... Seriously, stop. Oh, speaking about byuntae, Chanyeol didn't even go near me today. To be honest it felt a little weird... Probably because I'm used to his touch. ~Baek

*HIS BULL NOT TOUCH! ~Baek

Ooohh, Baek what's this? You falling for your 'pain'? ~comfort

No! No! I hate him! I'm not into guys! I'm as straight as a pencil! ~Baek

Oh really? ;) ~comfort

Yaa! Shush. I'm gone. I swear I can smell poison brewing downstairs. Hyung can't cook for ~Baek

Haha, you better stop him before he burns the house down! ~comfort

Baekhyun smiled running downstair and stoppibg his hyung from murdering the kitchen.

"Hyung, I'll cook today."

"What? But you don't know how to coo-"

"Finish that sentence and you'll be ed into your grave before you can even say 'cook'" Baekhyun threatened. "You can't cook for hyung. I've got tips from the master so shush."

"Feisty..." Baekbeom noted. "Who's the 'master'?"

"Kyungsoo and who?"

"Oh..."

And then after a long pause.

"Kyungsoo!? HOLY DAMN THEN YOU MUST BE A MASTER ALREADY!"

"Hyung, your reactions are so late," Baekhyun sighed teasingly. He then pushed Baekbeom out of the kitchen.

"Sit back and relax hyung okay?"

"Wait- Baek! HEY!-"

Baekhyun slammed the kitchen door in his face.

Well then... What should I cook?

He took a cook book out and started reading.

"Oh, that looks good." he said checking to see if he had all the ingredients needed. Luckily he did.

"Time to cook!" he yelled enthusiastically and rolled his sleeves up a little. He didn't dare roll it up anymore. If he saw the scars, he would've wanted to cut again plus he was in a room full of knives...

About an hour later...

"Hyung! It's done!"

"Damn that smells good."

"Thanks." Baekhyun said. "I'm a better cook than you,"

"No you aren't."

"Pfft... Whatever." Baekhyun's stomach grumbled.

"I'm hungry."

"Me too."

"Let's eat."

"Sure, what did you make?"

"You'll see."

"Aish," Baekbeom clicked his tongue, "You're no fun."

"Thanks."

"Seriously. Stop it Baek."

"Stop what?"

"Aish! This child-" He tackled Baekhyun to the floor ane began to tickle him.

"Ah! Aha! I'm sorry I'm so- stop! Ah!" Baekhyun laughed trying to get the words out.

"Are you gonna act like a brat again?"

"N-no!" he laughed. "Stop!"

"Are you gonna be nice to your hyung next time?"

"Yes! YES!" Baekhyun squeezed his eyes shut and held his stomach which was starting to hurt.

Damn laughing hurts so much.

The elder finally stopped tickling Baekhyun. "Baby bro, you're so ticklish. It's funny and cute."

"S-shut up..."

Baekhyun's stomach growled again.

"I'm hungry."

"Me too."

"Let's eat."

"Sure... Wait why are we repeating this again?"

"Who knows. Oh well."

The two siblings sat at the table. Baekhyun placed the hidden recipe.

"This..." he took the foil off the plate revealing his dish. "Is not as good as Kyungsoo's but better than yours."

"Wow. And here I thought you would say something like: 'This... Is pure awesomeness.'" Baekbeom said looking at the dish. "What the hell, it's only fried squid."

"It's not 'only fried squid'."Baekhyun snapped. "It's fried squid with this special dipping I made. And there's a hint of lemon in it,"

"... Okay..." the elder said taking a piece. "Itadakimasu!"

"Drop the Japanese."

"Why?"

"Because..."

"You're just jealous because I know more than you baby bro,"

"Shut up and eat."

"Oh... Right..." he placed the fried squid into his mouth.

Crunch.

Crunch.

...

...

Chew chew chew...

Within less than five minutes the fried squid along with the dipping was gone.

"So?" Baekhyun smirked taunting the elder.

"... It was... Disgusting."

"Tut tut. Lies hyung, lies. I thought you were trained better than that."

"Shush. Babies can't talk."

"Well this one can cause he's smarter than his hyung."

"Babies. Don't. Talk."

"Admit it, it was amazables." Baekhyun smirked.

"No."

"Tut tut." Baekhyin laughed running to his room shouting, "Clean everything up hyung!"

"Wait- What? No! You literally left everything! Ew! The chopping board still has raw squid on it! The knife's a mess! Baek! You forgot to put the lemon juice away! Argh, this is gonna take ages!"

Baekhyun laughed while checking his phone.

Baek... If you knew who I was, and what I do... What would you do? ~comfort

Baekhyun stared at the message for a long while, thinking...

What... Would I do?

His mind was blank when he thought about it.

Would I hug the person?

Would I freak out?

Would I faint?

Lot's of questions ran through Baekhyun's head, and as much as he thought about it, all of them remained unanswered...

"Sir... Please... Why?"

"Because. A year is too long." it was that same man from before.

"Why a week? A few months would've been enough,"

"Park Chanyeol. A week is a week. That's final."

"I..." there was no excuse. If he begged for more time then it would've been obvious that something was a little... Off. Chanyeol took a deep breath.

"Fine. A week."

"If you fail, I'll kill them, and you too."

"I understand."

He left the room passing the 'heir'.

"Hello, Park Chanyeol. It's a relief you know, that we're both working together."

"We're not working together. Stay out of this." Chanyeol left hurriedly taking a cab back home. He then whipped his phone out of his pocket. And then... He typed...

Baek... If you knew who I was, and what I do... What would you do? ~comfort

The 'heir' walked into his father's room.

"You called for me."

"Yes. Keep an eye on Byun Baekhyun."

"I'm already doing that."

"Good." the man stood from where he sat. "A week son. Wait a week then you can finally bathe in blood."

"Finally. I don't think I can control my blood lust any longer. Oh and by the way, what about the older sibling?"

"He will pay what his father couldn't."

"I see... Well then, I'm gone..."

The 'heir' walked out of the room smirking.

Father's blind... Really really blind...

A/n: Ooh, who was this mysterious person Chanyeol was talking to?? And what were they talking about??? Also this 'heir' is dying to taint his hands in blood... ?? And yep, Taeyeon will be introduced later on in the story.

Btw, luhans reloaded album's killing me. I'm addicted. Save me. And Tao's crown too...
