Chohee was busy translated an American journal into Korean for Taekwoon’s lecture next week. Suddenly she heard knocks on her door. She raised her head and found Hyuk waved cutely at her.

 

“ Chohee-sshi, may I borrow your photocopy machine? ”.

 

“ Sure, you know how to operate it? ”.

 

“ Yes ”.

 

“ Great, if you need more paper you can ask me ” she said then back to her job.

 

“ Arasso….What are you doing? ” Hyuk started conversation while copying his paper.

 

“ Just translate journal for Dr. Jung’s lecture ”.

 

“ English journal? Ooo…you must be really smart ”.

 

“ Mm…. a little bit” she giggled.

 

“ Anyway Chohee-sshi, how old are you? ”.

 

“ Neh? I’m 26 ”.

 

“ Then I’m an oppa ”.

 

“ Jinja? How old are you Hyuk-sshi? ”.

 

“ I was born in 1985 ”.

 

“ Daebak ” she gasped.

 

“ I still look like a baby right, hehehehe? Oh hyung… ”.

 

Chohee turned around and found Taekwoon. She stood up immediately to greet him. He just nodded lightly at her.

 

“ Hyung I ask Chohee-sshi to use photocopy machine, is it okay?  ”.

 

“Hm.. Go a head ” he said then sat on his chair.

 

Hyuk glanced at Chohee then back at Taekwoon. Chohee looked cheerful and all smileys when he talked with him earlier. But when Taekwoon came, she changed into quiet and serious person. Hyuk found it a bit strange. After finishing his last page, Hyuk gathered his papers and walked to Taekwoon.

 

“ I’m done, gomawo hyung. Chohee-sshi… see you later ”.

 

Hyuk waved at Chohee just like before. Chohee just replied him with a small smile. After Hyuk left, Chohee took her notebook then walked to Taekwoon. Have you ever wonder what is Taekwoon speciality? He was a surgeon, just like Hakyeon.

 

“ Doc I want to remind your schedule today.  There is a meeting at 12, lecture at 2 and this week is your turn to visit patient at ward 27 ”.

 

“ What day is today? Date?  ”.

 

“ Oct 28^th, Wednesday…. 11.45” she whispered the last part causing Taekwoon to glare at her.

" And what about tomorrow schedule?".

" There is a lecture at 9 ".

“ Inform the faculty to change my tomorrow lecture into the day Oct 30 at 9. Please remind me to visit patient at ward 23 tomorrow. I need to do her last examination before being transfer to Seoul Hospital ”.

 

“ Why she isn’t being operated here? It’s like they look down our hospital credibility ”.

 

“ That’s because our hospital doesn’t have pediatric surgeon…yet ”.

 

“ Oh… ”.

 

“ Don’t forget to inform faculty that I want to change my lecture schedule ” Taekwoon said then got up.

 

“ But Dr. Jung where are you going? ”.

 

“ To meeting duh, you said there’s meeting at 12 ”.

 

“ Ah that’s right ”.

 

“ Chohee-sshi… “.

 

“ Neh? ”.

 

“ Don’t get too close with Han Sanghyuk…. He can be really sly ” Taekwoon said then left.

 

“ That innocent cute guy? ” she asked herself in disbelief.

Chohee skipped happily at Hospital Cafetaria. After she took some foods, she scanned the whole cafeteria and found Jessica sat on the corner table.

 

“ Jessica-ya… ” she shouted.

 

“ Oh? Chohee-ya… come here ”.

 

Chohee ran happily while holding her tray then took seat beside Jessica. Jessica wasn’t alone. Some other secretaries from different division also joined her. She bowed at them then chatted with Jessica.

 

“ Finally you could lunch properly ”.

 

“ Thanks to that meeting I finally can get out “.

 

“ Keundae Chohee-sshi, why you never go out for lunch? ” Hyeri asked.

 

“ Dr. Jung doesn’t like it when I’m not around when he needs me. Today I can get out because of meeting, but I have to go back soon. Dr. Jung probably looking for me later ”.

 

“ Poor thing, you must be suffer a lot. Since we at topic, I really curious what kind of person Dr. Jung is. Did he scold you a lot? As you know he looked intimidated and all of us a bit scared of him”.

 

“ Honestly in my 3 years in here, he never really scold me.. I mean like nagging. Since he is a quiet person, whenever I make mistake or annoy him he just take a deep breath or glare. But that scary enough for me ”.

 

“ Lucky you, if Dr. Jaehwan angry he will nag like 2 hours. When he mad, his tone becomes higher like an pterodactyl. My poor ears ” Dohee sighed causing the girls laughed.

 

After lunch, Chohee and Jessica went to restroom together. Chohee was talking to one of Faculty’s representative to inform Taekwoon’s plan to change his lecture’s schedule. Jessica eyed her while applying her lipstick.

 

“ Is everything okay? ” Jessica asked.

 

“ Yup, just to inform Leo’s schedule ”.

 

“ If I know you will join me for lunch, I won’t join table with the other girls so we can you know…bad mouth someone while eating ” Jessica said causing Chohee giggled.

 

“ By the way Jess, how is the relationship between maknae and Leo. Leo didn’t seem to like maknae ”.

 

“ How so? ”.

 

“ Leo told me to stay away from maknae because he is sly ”.

 

“ Really? Well this is interesting. But wait why I sense that Leo was jealous ”.

 

“ What are you talking about? ”.

 

“ He told you to stay away from maknae because he was jealous. He badmouthed maknae so you would listen to him ”.

 

“ Eyy….as if ”.

 

“ You sure nothing happen between you and Leo? ”.

 

“ Aish of course no. I’ll back first before Leo looking for me “.

 

“ Come to think about it, maybe the reason he doesn’t like you go out because he wants to keep you close to him. He wants to keep you for himself ”

 

“ Aniya…..!! Stop talking about that nonsense ”.

Chohee was waiting the elevator to go down. It was at 7^th floor, 6 floors to go. A woman walked beside her. Chohee couldn’t help but stare at her. Brown wavy long hair, red blood lipstick, and from head to toe screamed expensive brands. She glanced at elevator for patient that already at 3^rd floor. She stepped aside then stood in front of that elevator door.

 

“ Excuse me, that is elevator for patient on bed or wheel chair only. You can take this one ”.

 

That woman just glanced at Chohee then ignored her. Chohee just scoffed in disbelief. The elevator for patient finally being opened. That rude woman quickly got in.

 

“ You’re not in? Arasso…. ” she said then pressed the button to close the elevator’s door.

 

“ What an annoying woman ”.

 

In the end Chohee gave up waiting for elevator and decided to take stairs. She ended up sweaty a lot though her office just on 3^rd floor. She saw the door of her office was opened. She saw the rude lady she met earlier looked around her office. What a rude person.

 

“  Excuse me what are you doing here? ”.

 

That woman looked at Chohee from head to toe, back and forth like she was an object of an experiment.

 

“ Who are you? ”.

 

“ I’m sorry ma’am, but that should be my question. Who are you and what are you doing here? ”.

 

“ I just stop by here to see Dr. Taekwoon but he obviously wasn’t here. He must be really busy ” she just sighed then left.

 

Chohee just looked at her in disbelief. She saw Taekwoon was coming from distance. She bowed at him.

 

“ What are you doing in front of door? ” he said.

 

“ Oh…nothing, Doc. Oh right, there was a lady that looking for you earlier “ Chohee said.

 

“ Who? ”.

 

“ I don’t know. She just left when I asked her, what a rude lady ”.

Today just like the other day. Chohee continued her unfinished task while humming song that played on her computer. It was one calm morning until Hakyeon barked into her office.

 

“ Dr. Cha…. ”.

 

“ Where’s that jerk? ”.

 

“ Neh??? ”.

 

“ Didn’t you remind his schedule? The nurse said Taekwoon didn’t visit patient in ward 23. She got severe infection and need to be transferred immediately but because of Taekwoon wasn’t there she couldn’t transfer immediately ”.

 

“ Hakyeon-ah…. ”.

 

Taekwoon looked sweaty and panic. He must be run all the way here. Hakyeon rushed toward him and grabbed the collar of his white coat.

 

“ You…where the hell are you? Do you know what will happen with that patient if I weren’t there huh? ”.

 

“ I’m sorry, Hakyeon-ah. But thank you for being there for my sake ”.

 

“ Her infection was worse. She could get in worse situation than this, but still her condition now isn’t good either. If something bad happen to her, you will be the one who responsible ” Hakyeon paused.

 

“ You too ” Hakyeon glared at Chohee then left.

 

Taekwoon just watched Hakyeon left in silence. He sighed then massaged his throbbing head. He glanced at Chohee and realized she was sobbing quietly.

 

“ Hey… ”.

 

“ Dr. Jung I’m so sorry because I didn’t remind your schedule properly ”.

 

“ That’s not your fault, that’s mine. I mixed up my schedule and went to faculty instead of visiting patient ”.

 

“ What if she dies? ”.

 

Taekwoon sighed as Chohee cried harder. He didn’t know what to do. This was the first time after a long time he saw woman cried in front of him. And that woman was her. Taekwoon awkwardly pulled her into his chest.

 

“ She will be alright ”.

 

“ Really? ”.

 

“ Hm….I will visit her now, you want to go along? ”.

Taekwoon glanced at Chohee who looked calmer unlike before. After make sure that that patient really fine, she looked relief.

 

“ Dr. Jung are you sure I don’t need to go back hospital? My working hours haven’t ended yet ”.

 

“ Hm… Just go home and take a rest. You must be really tired today ”.

 

“ If so then excuse myself ”she bowed.

 

“ Wait me here. I’ll finish some documents then I’ll take you home ”.

 

“ You don’t need to, I can go home myself ”.

 

“ But I insist ”.

 

There was a brief time where the two of them just stared at each other eyes without a word.

 

“ Alright then, I guess ”.

 

“ Just wait here, I’ll be back ” Taekwoon said then left.

 

Chohee just nodded then sat on one of bench that not far from her. Today was a long day and Taekwoon right she was tired and needed some rests. She watched Taekwoon from a far as he talked with a senior doctor and some nurses. She noticed that those nurses blushed while glance at Taekwoon once in a while. She couldn’t blame them, Taekwoon was really beautiful. She remember how red her face when she first met him.

 

[Flashback]

 

Chohee took a deep breath then came in. She was expecting to meet a short and bald old man with thick-glasses but what she saw was nothing like in her mind. She saw a beautiful young man sat right in front of her. She felt her blood rushed on her cheeks. And he definitely not bald, he had a lot of hair…. She means long hair so it covered his eyes and it was blond that reminded her of Einstein. 

 

“ Jung Chohee-sshi right? ”.

 

“ Yes ”.

 

She was going to walk closer to his desk but he put his hand up to halt her. He scanned her appearance from head to toe.

 

“ You usually wear flat shoes instead of high heels? ”.

 

“ Neh?? Neh. I don’t have good sense of balance so I prefer flat shoes then heels ”.

 

“ Great. You need to go here and there quickly so heels will be a bothersome. Do you speak English? ”.

 

“ Yes sir ”.

 

“ Just call me Dr. Jung. I’ve read your resume and your computer skill is outstanding too.  Great, you can start work tomorrow ”.

 

“  Neh???”

 

[End of Flashback]

 

“ Chohee-sshi, are you alright? ” Taekwoon’s voice brought her back from flashback.

 

“ Neh ”.

 

“ Good, let’s go ”.

 

The journey to Chohee’s house was filled with awkwardness. Taekwoon was a quiet guy, so he used with this kind of silent. Unlike Chohee who kept on fidgeting with her fingers in discomfort. Though she has worked for him for 3 years, she still awkward around him. He would speak once in a while just to ask the direction to her house. Just it. I should just refuse when he offered me to take me home.

 

Taekwoon glanced at Chohee and realized the girl sat on her seat in discomfort. She must be felt uncomfortable trapped with a quiet guy like him in such a tight space. He felt bad for her so he started conversation.

 

“ Why you choose to live in Hongdae? Aren’t Gangnam or Apgujeong closer to Hospital? ”.

 

“ I would love too, but the rent was quite expensive in there ”.

 

“ Ah that’s right ”.

 

“ Beside I like Hongdae. That area never sleeps and always crowd, the food is delicious and there are a lot of shops with cheap price in here since they are targeting college students. This place is perfect ”.

 

“ It is ” he replied shortly.

 

The rest of ride filled with Taekwoon asked her question and she would respond it in a long answer. She just realized that Taekwoon was a good listener. Though his responds was always short she knew that Taekwoon listened to her.

 

Taekwoon stopped his car in front of small alley. He scanned around the area so he could remember this alley. Tous les jours, he noted that bakery’s name which was right beside the alley. After make sure he remember this area well, he turned around at Chohee who already unfastened her seat belt.

 

“ Thank you for take me home ”.

 

“ You’re welcome ”.

 

Chohee bited her bottom lip nervously. She battled whether to ask him to stop by or not. She didn’t have ulterior motive but she just wants to be polite. He went all the way here to drop her anyway. And she finally spilled it.

 

“ Do you want to stop by? ”.

 

“ I’d love too but I need to go back to Hospital ”.

 

“ Ah really ” she said in disappointment.

 

“ But next time I will ”.

 

“ Sure. Thank you again, Doc. Please drive safely ”.

 

“ Hm ”.

 

She finally got off from his car. She bowed at him then walked inside alley. She couldn’t help but smile all the way to her home. Though she didn't know the reason, she just felt happy today. Little did she knows, Taekwoon didn’t leave yet until he saw her walked inside her home safely.

 

“ Goodnight ”.
