Taekwoon tried to dial Chohee’s number for only God knows how many times. He was waiting for her at parking lot of hospital for almost an hour but she didn’t show up. When he went back to their office, she wasn’t there too. That’s when she started ignored his calls.

Chohee curled on her bed, still with her office attire. She felt weak after crying for hours. Her phone which kept on ringing like crazy only worsened her hurt head. She knew the one who called her was no other than Taekwoon. Tears started forming again as she remembered what Hyuk said.

[Flashback]

“ Do you think I’m a low junior who badmouthed my senior because I don’t like him, huh? That’s right I don’t like him….no, I hate him. That’s because what he did to our noona ”.

Her ears perked at the mention of Hyuk’s noona, Taekwoon’s ex. A part of her was curious too death about story of Taekwoon and his ex, but the other part of her afraid that that story will only hurt her. But in the end her curiosity won. 

“ What happen to Ms. Han? ”.

“ She was pregnant when he left her ”.

“ …… ”.

“ There’s no point I lied to you. I won’t joke around about something that will ruin our family reputation. Beside I love our noona a lot. I won’t tell such a cruel lie about her like that ”.

“ Then why are telling me this? ”.

“ Because I don’t want you to end up like our noona ”

[End of Flashback]

She cried louder as she remembered of that. She couldn’t believe Taekwoon was that kind of person. She trusted him so much, she even almost gave him her everything. What happen if they did it that night? Will she end up like Ms. Han?

Chohee sighed the umpteenth time that day. She kept on crying the whole night until she fell asleep. Her eyes were swollen and there was huge ugly dark circle around each of her eye. She glanced at the clock, soon the working hours were ended. Taekwoon didn’t show up today which was a good thing because she didn’t know how to face him. 

She couldn’t wait any longer and decided to turn off her computer. She just wanted to go home and sleep. She was really tired, physically and emotionally. She massaged her temple while waiting for the elevator to go down. When the elevator door opened, her eyes widened as she saw Taekwoon.

She tried to turn around but she wasn’t quick enough. Taekwoon grabbed her and dragged her into the elevator. Before she could do anything, he closed the door. She tried to release herself but no matter how hard she tried, he just didn’t want to let her go.

“ We need to talk ”.

“ But I don’t ” she said then tried to break free again.

“ Stop moving, you will only hurt yourself ” Taekwoon said.

Suddenly the elevator door was opened at 2nd floor. There were several new interns who were chatting with each other while waiting for the elevator. They gasped in shock as they witnessed Taekwoon was holding onto Chohee’s arm possessively. Taekwoon was glaring at them so no one dares to ride the elevator. They just bowed politely at Taekwoon as he closed the elevator door.

They arrived at the parking lot at basement. She started to fight back again when she realized Taekwoon was dragging her to his car. I’m not going anywhere with this jerk.

“ Please let me go, you’re hurting me ” Chohee pledged.

“ Then talk to me. Why you are suddenly acted like this? ” he said finally released her.

She lifted her head up so she could face him properly. Taekwoon finally could study her facial properly since earlier she was too busy to break away. His heart clenched when he saw how swollen her eyes were. A fresh tear were started forming on the corner of her eyes again. He tried to caress her face but she quickly slapped it away. Though he didn’t know what he did wrong, still he thought he had to apologize.

“ I’m sorry, please forgive me okay? ”.

“ Don’t ask me. Ask her ”.

“ What do you mean by her? ”.

“ Ask Ms. Han for forgiveness. Say you were sorry for being a jerk, for being a coward ” she shouted.

Taekwoon almost lost his temper and slapped her. He felt wronged. He tired of her suddenly accused him without knowing anything. Taekwoon ended up just clenched his fists to suppress his anger.

“ I don’t know what you’ve heard but you know nothing about Sunhwa and me ” he said through his gritted teeth.

“ I know, Taekwoon-sshi. You left her when she needed you the most ”.

“ I didn’t. She’s the one who left me without a word then suddenly engaged with my best friend. If one should apologize, it’s her ”.

“ Why would she left you when she was pregnant with your baby? That makes no sense ”.

“ She…she was pregnant? W..with my baby? ”.

Taekwoon tried to process what Chohee just said. He couldn’t believe what he just heard. She was pregnant. Chohee was going to walk away but Taekwoon held her again. 

“ Don’t touch me “.

She could see in his eyes that he was hurt by her words and acts. But she couldn’t help it. Whenever she looked at him, she thought about Ms. Han. She must have been through a lot. She was a woman too and she can’t imagine if she was in her shoes. She might won’t able to forgive Taekwoon for the rest of her life…. Never.

“ I swear to God I don’t know she was pregnant ”.

“ I don’t know anymore, Taekwoon-sshi “.

Chohee was really tired. She thought she was going to pass out. She pried his hands and surprisingly he was letting her go easily unlike before. Chohee left Taekwoon without a word. He just watched her back which was slowly disappeared from his sight. His mind was in a mess. He didn’t know what to do.

Chohee sat in her dark living room by herself. Her fingers clenched between her hairs, massaged her throbbing head. Though she was tired and wanted to sleep she just couldn’t. Suddenly someone rang her door bell. She just sighed in frustration. As much as she wanted to ignore that guest, she couldn’t. That guest was too persistent and the sound of the bell just made her head hurt more. When she opened the door, she found Jessica glared at her.

“ All interns were talking about you and Dr. Jung. I swear you have a lot to explain to, Jung Chohee ”.

Jessica shut immediately as she saw Chohee. Her hair was in a mess, her eyes were swollen and red too. She was in the state where she could collapse anytime soon. And she was right, Chohee was almost fell down if she didn’t catch her.

Chohee was hugging Jessica tightly likely her life depends on her. A hundred questions that Jessica had prepared on her way here suddenly forgotten. Jessica patted her back to soothe that poor girl. The two of them just hugged in other in tears in front of Chohee’s door without a word for a long time.
