♡ DANCE COVERS ♡ haru may be the worst dancer of empire, but that doesn't stop him from doing covers of dances. he's a fan of a lot of groups and he knows their chorus choreo. he may not have the grace or correct moves, but once a song he knows plays, he's at the front doing it.

*they know haru is short, so they decided to up his height by 3cm. though real fans know his real height, especially when he stands next to ikon's jinhwan. as for his weight, haru is known to be on the heavier side, even at his correct height, so the company lessened his weight.

yujin is such a mom, so it's natural that she babies those that are younger than her...so it's not a surprise that she babies haru as well despite him being the male unit leader. and it's not like haru hates her mothering, how can you hate her mothering? that's illegal!
haru does enjoy talking and conversing with her when she isn't babying him. she also helps him out a lot whenever the boys are being too rowdy for haru to handle.

much like their normal relationship. yujin helping out haru whenever things get out of hand and speaking comfortably with each other.
much like a mom and her son, obviously. despite haru being taller than her, it's only by a few centimeters. and yujin's aura is so motherly and mature that when she stands next to haru, it just screams 'mom and son'.

RELATIONSHIP
ah...is there really a relationship? damian is five years older than haru and it really shows. damian is so much different than haru and, to be honest, it makes haru sort of uncomfortable. the male's brash personality, barely any modesty...haru's doesn't like it, but it's not like he's going to say anything, really.
haru can handle it and mostly keeps to himself about being uncomfortable because...he doesn't want to upset damian. it's not the male's fault for being so brash? it's because he grew up outside of korea, that has to be it. so haru just mothers from afar...hoping one day the man can just keep his damn shirt on in front of the children.

for the camera, haru tries to be more friendly with damian. it's not that hard, especially with damian's personality. haru puts on his mama persona a bit with damian and the fans love it.
but that's about it, really.

♡ haru is damn happy that he's not rooming with damian. i think he would legit die if he had to room with the man that's practically half of the day.
♡ but whenever haru can catch damian when he's not being his normal...self, he'll go to him and ask for tips on english and other little things (like giving him snacks if he looks like he hasn't eaten or something).

both of them are mothers and pretty smol. they get compared on a daily basis, but that's about it. as haru nags, jason nags more. and he smothers haru...quite a lot. like, haru understands, he's young and soft looking, but stop. it's like haru has another joonmyeon again and there can only be one joonmyeon, okay??

naggy fights, who can out-mother who? it's usually yujin who stops their nagging fights because both males are stubborn and their arguments continue on the camera as well.
but besides that, they do get along with each other.

haru actually enjoys bitna's presence quite a lot. they may not be super close (maybe if he was a yg trainee for longer), but they actually have good talks together and she's such a good listener whenever haru needs to talk.
she mayy be loud, but for haru, it's just the right amount of loudness. jooyeon on the other hand...

haru is usually seen coming over to bitna, whispering for help in dancing whenever they're on a show that requires dancing. and she's usually one the members that doesn't laugh when haru is picked on for his horrible dancing.

ilona looks intimidating, but haru knows better. she's actually pretty sweet and haru enjoys her presence as well. she's quite a good listener as well which haru will go to her to talk whenever bitna is busy with jason.

♡ unbeknownst to many, but illona likes to teach haru rapping. just little things because the boy is better off singing, but she thinks it's absolutely cute when he tries rapping.

RELATIONSHIP
much like his relationship with damian, haru doesn't get along that well with jooyeon. haru is already awkward with girls and jooyeon just makes it worst with her loud and brash personality. jooyeon is the member that barely listens to him and it does get under haru's skin. "At least Damian hyung will listen to me once in a while..."

haru tries to be nice with jooyeon, he really tries, but her loudness usually pushes him back and he ends up closing a bit on himself. she's pretty pushy and haru doesn't want to ruin thing by trying to argue with her.

♡ haru tries his damn hardest to get her to be quiet, at least around the frost twins, or just try to keep her away from them, but she just. doesn't. listen.

RELATIONSHIP
there is quite a huge height different between the two (which, haru admits, scared him just a tiny bit when they first met), but it doesn't realy bother haru as much as it would to someone else. junsu is essentially like a giant teddy bear, at least in haru's opinion. haru knows junsu is a good friend and knows he count on him whenever.

pretty much the same. haru is usually seen making small talk with him once in a while.

♡ don't tell anyone, but haru likes to baby junsu secretly like leaving an extra blanket on his bed, sliding a bag of snacks on his lap when they are in the van, or putting extra servings on his plate during dinner. don't ask why, haru just does it.

RELATIONSHIP
haru's relationship with with daekwan is pretty similar to junsu except that haru hasn't spoken to daekwan as much as he has with junsu. but daekwan seems like a sweet guy and haru wants to know more about him.

haru is not afraid to stand next to daekwan and send him little waves and little acknowledgements, but that's about it.

one of the few people who doesn't treat haru like a baby on a daily basis. sure, she'll pat his head every once in a while, but she doesn't smother him like a certain other person does. and with yide being a big softie, haru enjoys talking to her (with her little head nods of acknowledgements since she is a person of a few words) and has gone to her to ask what some french terms mean.

♡ haru definitely helps supplying yide with as much duck accessories as she wants. he might even make pancakes in the shape of ducks, just for her.

RELATIONSHIP
along with first meeting minjin, meeting minjae soon followed. and minjae being so tall and his face pretty emotionless, haru couldn't help, but be scared at first. when he first became intrigued by the twins, he really did try to get closer to him, but then his crush on minjin developed and well...haru is just scared he may mess up and minjae won't think he's good for minjin.

they hardly speak to each other, but they do motion for each other (like if one is too far away, he'll motion him to come closer or give small smiles and waves whenever their eyes meet, etc). but when they do talk, haru is usually squeaking due to nerves and overthinking.

♡ haru will always add extra servings on minjae's plate even if the male doesn't finish it all. he just hopes one day he will eat it all.
♡ haru definitely knows there's something about that old group of his that happened. he won't ask him directly ofc, but he has that inkling and he will protecc the tall frosty twin with his tiny hands.

haru first met minjin and well...haru thought she was really cute. and he must of stared too long cause that's when he heard about the frosty twins history and well...it honestly intrigued haru. like, what made them so, well, frosty?
it happened too fast and haru developed a crush on minjin and she just makes him so flustered by doing the simplest things (like looking in his general direction). and after caring for his ankle that one time, his crush just continued to develop. he...watches her from afar cause he doesn't want to mess up what relationship they have.

haru...avoids minjin the best he can, but also being the kind of person he is, he doesn't want to completely ignore them and tries to include them in conversations and...let's just say haru is a mess when it comes to minjin.
TRIVIA
♡ haru tries to act as manly as he can whenever minjin is around, but it backfires in some way (like minjae coming into view or minjin looking in his direction which makes haru slip up whatever he is doing).

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT EMPIRE?
"There's a lot of us...?" Haru squeaks with a tilt of his head. "And there's girls too...It will definitely be a lot of getting use too."
WHY IS YOUR STAGE NAME HARUKI?
"It's like an extension of my own name," he says with a soft, proud smile. "My name is pretty short so I decided to add the -ki because Haruki means 'spring wood' since I'm also the leader of the spring unit."
YOU WERE FORMLY A SMROOKIE AND OST SOLOIST. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THAT, AND HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT DEBUTING IN AN IDOL GROUP?
"Ahhh," he sighs and looks down. "I still remember my smrookie days. I do miss them, but then I had the opportunity to sing OSTs with amazing people and I even got to record some SM Station songs." His face shows his happiness at his memories before shaking his head and coming back to the presence. "It's definitely overwhelming now that I'll debut with an idol group. I'm not...a very good dancer and I know I will stand out on that end, but I hope I can make it up to everyone."
OUTSIDE OF YOUR MAIN SUBUNITS, WHICH MEMBER OR MEMBERS OF EMPIRE WOULD YOU LIKE TO COLLABORATE WITH, AND WHY?
"Ah, since I'm a vocalist...I think collabing with one of our rappers would be a great combination. Either Nero or Eirwen's rapping would complimenting my singing." Haru smiles softly. "I'd also like to possibly sing a duet with Meloji. I think her powerful voice and my soft vocals would fit nicely well together."
WHICH MALE MEMBER AND FEMALE MEMBER ARE YOU CLOSEST TO?
"Hmm for male member...I'd have to pick either Junsu or Jason. Junsu is a really nice person once you get to know him." He nodded for emphasis. "Jason, well, he was one of the first to warm up to me when I came to YG." He lets slip a nervous smile. "As for female members...uh...," he stumbles over his words, cheeks turning a bit pink. "I'm not that super close to a lot of the girls, but if I had to pick one...I'd pick Meloji since she reminds me of Taeyeon noona a lot."

"I...I don't both groups all that well," Haru admits with a faint blush to his cheeks. "B-because I haven't been a YG trainee for very long!" He waves his hands in front him before putting them down in his lap. "B-b-but I hope to get closer to both groups in the future! Um, if I had to pick...probably either their rappers or main vocals cause they would match my voice the best? Maybe?"

DORM LIFE
what is lee haru most likely doing? if not in the dorms, he's most likely out at a convience store buying snacks for his stash and the members ('cause buying snacks is very important! joonmyeon-hyung taught me that!'). he also might be seen in yg building as well, in either the vocal booth (warming up his voice, practicing lyrics) or dance practice rooms (attempting to dance, will mostly end up covering dances to help his muscles before stopping because of his ankle).
in the dorms, haru would most likely be in his bed, reading a book and snacking on his stash.
BIRTHDAYS, HOLIDAYS, ALL THE DAYS!
you know damn well haru is the first to know birthdays, holidays, anything worth celebrating. hell, haru is the person that starts decorating for christmas a whole month early. he's the type that plans his halloween costume months in advance, heck he already starts planning the day after halloween. haru absolutely loves holidays and anything that's worth celebrating.
as for birthdays he hasn't learned of yet, haru tends to at least know when it's their birth month. it's like he has a sixth sense for it.

haru has two types of warmup songs, ones for vocal exercises and one for dancing.

IDOL RELATIONSHIPS, PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE
haru has a great brotherly relationship with exo, moreso with chen and suho as they are his surrogate parents and his biggest supporters. he is a part of a group chat with chen and suho (which was suho's idea because 'he's our child, jongdae! we need to watch over him and send encouraging messages!').
he also has a great relationship with kim taeyeon as she became a surrogate mother for haru when hhe first started training under sm. unlike chen and suho, taeyeon sends him encouraging handwritten letters cause she likes the 'penpal' aspect of it. haru agrees.
he was friends with yeri before she became a member of red velvet, but they didn't interact a lot (mostly due to her being a girl and haru just being awkward near girls). yeri would most likely approach him backstage after debut and rekindle their lil relationship. haru would enjoy it as well. (oh dear, would this be some drama between the smol couple??) it'd be also nice to catch up with wendy as well since they did do a sm station song together.
haru is pretty awkward and probably wouldn't go out to meet new friends and make relationships unless the group pushes him to do it.

♡ during dance pratice, haru wears a baggy t-shirt and it flies up and revealing his soft tummy. commence the group cooing over his soft tummy. (lol think of debut!xiumin and his soft lil tummy)
♡ fans pointing out haru's bad dancing and remembering that back when he was a smrookie, his dancing wasn't bad and they start questioning why his dancing got so bad and doesn't really improve that much.
♡ because haru never told anyone about how bad his prior ankle injury actually was (tho some get a inkling after minjin ices his ankle after practice). so when fans start pointing out the obvious, he ends up telling them how bad his ankle actually is.

ANYTHING ELSE
♡ that being said, haru's ankle is bad because his bones in it hare pretty brittle and weak and when he broke it by overworking himself, it got weaker. that's why it took so long for it to heal. though his ankle had recovered somewhat, the bones are still brittle and the muscles there are thin so he's prone to sprains and if he overworks himself too much, it may break again.
♡ sorry i felt like his ankle injury needed more explanation lol.
