❥ the kanji in momoka's name has extra meanings. her last name, tachibana, uses kanji that means 'tangerine/orange' and, as such, is the reason why she was named momoka with her specific kanji. the kanji in her name reads 'budding flower' like the budding flowers of fruits. momoka was going to be her parents' budding little flower and named her as such.

momoka is a very charismatic and confident person by nature. she has a natural charm that makes people turn their heads to see her. she's also always open to new ideas and opinions, even if they aren't what she normally thinks of or lives by. despite always relying on her brother when she was younger, she became really independent after haruto had left home and began to train. because of her dad's busy schedule, she was usually left alone and only had herself to entertain and take care of. naturally witty, she's fairly quick to spill out some humor with her wit just to make everyone laugh or to brighten up a room.

being alone most of the time has made her somewhat sarcastic (someone has to be when her older brother is practically a man child). her sarcasm doesn't have a off button really, so even though it can make others laugh, it could also hurt during serious times. much like her wit and charisma, momoka is lively and bold when it comes to her famous wit. she's rather cheeky and comes off as a sassy person, whether it's good or bad.

momoka is very much a perfectionist. if one little thing is misplaced or not, she will do whatever it takes to put it back in it's place or fix it. whether it's practicing hangul or attempting to get a dance move right, she won't stop until it's perfect even when her body is screaming enough. which definitely shows off how stubborn she definitely is. there are a lot of times when her stubborness gets in the way like whenever she really DOES need help, but refuses to ask for help. and momoka definitely doesn't sugarcoat things, she tells it like it is. she's brutally honest and blunt, she doesn't like beating around the bush at all as she sees no point in walking around an issue. she is also rather demanding as she wishes for everything to be perfect. she will make others work harder just so she can meet the high standards she has for herself and for what she sees in other people as well.

when momoka was born, it was bittersweet. her mother was very sick and couldn't hold on after she was born. the whole family took the death to heart, but her father and brother knew that they had to keep it together to take care of momoka.

as momoka grew up, she didn't see her father all that much. he was busy with work, being a ceo wasn't easy. instead of her father, haruto was always there for her as a big brother and a father figure. momoka was the light of haruto's world, never getting tired of taking care or playing with his little sister.

haruto's dream of being a musician was allowed by their father, but told him he'd have to do it himself. although with nothing, sora was there for him as his biggest supporter. he was the main reason she got into music. when momoka saw all the other girls in her class going to dance lessons, she wanted to go too. haruto was so excited at the thought of momoka wanting to become an idol someday. month after month, haruto found momoka having fun at her dance lessons.

dance lessons were where momoka came to life. instructors found that momoka had quite a natural talent for dancing, watching her soak up different techniques and adding her own flair. she was still young, but they watched as she poured her heart into dance training that they knew she was certainly going to be a great dancer someday.

then haruto was scouted by avex trax on the streets. momoka was a mess when haruto came home and told her the news. did this mean he was going to leave? if he left, who would she have then? but haruto made sure to calm his baby sister down, thinking he could take her with him to tokyo. the idea was shot down by their father. momoka was just too young and haruto was too young to be taking care of momoka while he was training. how would he support her?

so haruto promised his sister that they would meet again and for her to always smile no matter what. after haruto left for tokyo, they still made sure to contact each other as much as he could with his busy schedule. the day finally came when haruto debuted in vvv!!!. momoka was amazed at how much haruto had changed and grown. it was amazing! eventually avex trax was holding auditions for girls. she wanted to be close to her brother!

momoka has a body that most girls yearn for. it's fit with the right about of muscles, thanks to her years of dancing. she has the popular thigh gap which she honestly doesn't care that much about.

she had always kept her hair long and natural, thinking that's what fits her the best, but is very much open to cutting and dying it for future comebacks.

small, miscellaneous scars that aren't that noticeable to the eye litter her body thanks to all the mischief she and her brother got up to when they were younger. though her most notable scars are a faint animal bite on her upper right arm from a dog attack when she was five and a small diagonal scar at the end of her left eyebrow from when she fell off of a swing when she was seven. she has a collection of moles on her back that form a zigzag line if you connect them.

she has both ears pierced and that's it. she has no tattoos either.

momoka's fashion style is very clean and modern despite the outrageous fashion sense that's a fad back in japan. she tends to keep herself in light colors, black usually thrown in it as well. shorts and skirts are the majority of her closet, but does own some pants as well.

training life...wasn't that hard, but hard at the same time. at first she was sad that she still hadn't got to see her brother that often especially since his band was getting pretty popular during the time she was accepted. though she didn't let that stop her. while her vocals were nothing to write home about, her dance skills had her above the rest of the girls, especially with how young she was at the time.

she impressed most of all her instructors with her dancing, watching her whole demeanor change to determined once she began to dance. they all could tell that dancing was her life, though they were there to help her succeed in other ways.

momoka's dancing continued to flourish under the company, soon she was developing her own style, but she never stopped taking classes. she felt like there was never enough dancing she could learn. whether or not she could actually do new things, she tried her hardest and found what she could do.

she wasn't with avex trax super long before momoka noticed she was going nowhere with the company and it made her angry, much like a spoiled brat. her dancing was good, her singing was getting better...why wasn't she put into a group yet? the instructors and highers said she was amazing and she was already gathering some fans! it only took a year before her brother got his band!

the only thing that garnered some kind of activity was the videos she did with avex trax's artist academy...but they truly weren't doing anything else. it wasn't that they were wasting her on purpose, but momoka's talents were way past the japanese idol bar.

it was actually haruto's bandmate giyo who suggested momoka enter a korean company instead. he knew with her beautiful looks and dancing skills that she would definitely be loved back in south korea. there were a few companies that were open for auditions and so everyone helped her with videos and sent them. soon enough, she got a response back from pledis entertainment, who were specfically looking for females for a possible big project. giyo said that they seemed to be a solid company and told her just to go for it.

so she did.

much like at avex trax, momoka was praised for her dancing, especially sense there is a stereotype of most japanese trainees/idols not being the most talented. what momoka lacked was in proper vocal technique and learning to sing in korean, but it wasn't nothing that momoka couldn't handle, in her own words. she worked hard for her dancing talent, so she could definitely work on her voice to sound better, especially with better vocal instructors to help.

momoka didn't have much time to get used to the korean training system before she was rushed into the big pledis project that she was accepted into the company for. well, it was what she wanted after all, right?

❥ artist academy --  while under avex trax, she was enrolled in their artist academy where a few of her dance videos can be found.

❥ 16tv --  momoka was one of the few trainees that got 'flung into the fire', so to speak. she had just ented the company officially in early december of 2015 and by the end of the month, she was ed in front of a group of girls, explaining she would be a part of a girl group project that would the female equivalent of the boy group seventeen. to say momoka was quite skeptical would be an understatement. she was still learning korean at the time, having to rely on english and japanese to converse with other trainees, but despite the language barrier, everyone knew momoka commanded attention.

during the duration of 16tv, momoka looked she was made for television. she was sassy, witty, and enjoyable to watch. at the beginning of the program, she only knew a limited amount of korean, but after the course of the show, she became pretty fluent...but continued to act like she didn't know korean at times for a funny moment. everyone knew she was gonna make it, gonna go through the entire show and debut, no doubt about it. her knowledge in dance, despite language barriers, were a pleasant surprise. sometimes momoka could come off as harsh or being a 'complete diva', but momoka shows her care and passion through different ways, which did get seen on 16tv.

❥ 2018, false -- when the info of the members were revealed officially, many netizens are quick to find out that momoka is the younger sister of the popular visual kei band vvv!!!'s leader and the daughter of the successful ibana corp. they thought momoka bought her way into the group which is actually a bit far from the truth. since, uh, she's been trained under avex trax for a few years and then furthered her training under pledis (just look at 16tv for more proof of training).

❥ ongoing issue -- it would start all the way back on 16tv and it's mainly because of momoka's sassy attitude and sharp tongue. netizens would be the first to probably get butthurt over any comments she may have made during fanmeets, concerts, or variety shows. it's honestly just how you take her words. momoka isn't trying to be mean entirely, she's just very blunt and some people just take that the wrong way.

momoka had no time to get to know many people when she first came to pledis since she was quickly ed into 16tv. it wasn't until 2018 when she fully got to meet hoshi and, let me tell you, fans of both seventeen and sixteen will never let it down.

momoka first came to korea with not much knowledge to kpop except for the mainstream/really popular groups (like snsd, shinee, etc). despite the firls of 16tv giving her a crash course in seventeen, she was still learning about them. so she made hoshi speechless for once, seventeen member woozi considers it a precious memory that someone could make one of the bss members speechless.

they bumped into each other, seemingly by accident though hoshi does admit later that he decided to 'bump' into the one that he would mentor as a means of introducing himself as a 'upstanding gentleman', but instead momoka took the stunt as if he was hitting on her. she wasn't super snarky or sassy, but her words when he went to explain himself had him utterly speechless that he honestly forgot what he was doing in the first place.

momoka may have sassed hoshi (and became someone woozi probably looks up to), hoshi and momoka get along. one wouldn't think so with the way momoka can't stop sassing the poor man, but hoshi makes it too easy. he reminds her of her brother in a way, a child at heart.

when they aren't acting like a couple of quarreling siblings, sixteen members can see they share a lot of qualities, especially in the way the teach. they both become serious when it comes to dancing and that's something they can bond over.

sometimes, momoka goes to hoshi for tips on how to help sixteen members with dancing and such.

 

❥ due to his stage name being japanese, momoka strictly calls him hoshi because it's her mother tongue. also it's quite funny to call him hoshi after he whines at her to call him 'soonyoung-oppa'.

"i could," was the initial response from momoka, sitting poised and looking like perfection from head to toe. she ended up raising a brow before giving a dazzling smile. "i kid, i kid. i'm sxt's perfect girl, moka," she introduces herself, hauty and with a hint of arrogance.

"surreal," she says without hesitation before a light dusting of pink grows on her pale cheeks that certainly wasn't the blush she currently had on. "ahem, i mean, that is-," she tries to fix herself before calming down and smoothing her hands out on her lap while the members of sixteen snicker at seeing their dance captain flounder a bit.

"it's nice to see that my talents are finally going to be seen more broadly," was the answer she came up, pointingly ignoring the other members and their snickers. it only takes her a few moments to continue. "oh, and i guess i'm happy for us, me and the girls, for finally debuting and all that."

"i'll admit, when i came to pledis, i was ed onto 16tv that i hadn't thought much of groups outside of snsd and shinee-sunbaenims that even a group from the company i was under didn't reach me," momoka said truthfully. "the girls have helped me, giving me a crash course and such and i will say, what they have accomplished so far is no easy feat and is something to look up to."

momoka then rolls her eyes at the next question, propping her hands on her hips. "my mentor is hoshi and sometimes he's a pain in my ," she says with no filter and the girls behind her are laughing. "but he's okay, i guess. i enjoy dancing with him...never thought i'd have someone like him teaching me how to move more sensual. who would even think sensual was a part of his dictionary?"

momoka leans back in her chair, taking her time thinking of what to answer. "i could say the usual stuff of what everyone says like getting the best awards or getting international fame, but what do i really wish for myself and for sixteen?" she questions, mostly to herself before a soft smile comes over her features. "i want us to succeed, not just for popularity, not just for numbers...but for the fans. succeed as to be the role models they want or to be there for them. to be a family, a unit that comes together. and as for my personal wish? i wish for us to stay together...for as long as possible."

her soft smile lingers before her face falters as she realizes that the camera is still focused on her. "er- ah, yes, well- if that is all," she awkwardly says with a nod, as if she didn't just open her heart out in the open.

momoka pretends to be lost in thought before giving a soft smile and saying one single word.

❥ eiji -- his most common nickname and the name he currently promotes under. his name can be considered long for others, so he's perfectly fine with people shortening it to eiji.

❥ dummy -- an overall nickname that comes from momoka. even though some may think this nickname would be rude, it has simply became a more loving nickname coming from momoka. she means nothing by it when she calls eijirou a dummy, it's simply her way of dealing with her own overwhelming feelings whenever eijirou is being super romantic or dorky.

momoka and eijirou's first meeting was interesting to say the least. momoka wouldn't call it fate, but you could see it as that.

they met through their siblings. the first time momoka met haruto's high school friend kokoro, it was just a coincidence that the two brought their younger siblings along.

momoka's first thoughts on eijirou was that...okay, to be very honest, she thought he was really cute, in like a nerdy way. she was sweet, just like his sister. very polite and such. they didn't talk much to each other, but they had something in common in that they were both trainees (momoka in avex trax and eijirou under pledis). it wasn't the first time she heard about training under a korean company, haruto's bandmate giyo was telling her that she would do good under one and eijirou actually encouraged her...well, not without a few warnings (typical warnings, really), but it was such simple encouragement that reinforced her to make the switch to a korean company.
