Living with only her mother made Bitna to grow up as an independent person. She never liked relying on others too much, thinking it's a burden for the people she's being dependent to. She rarely ask any favors or requests from others, but rather she would handle things on her own most of the time. There are those rare times that she would depend on someone, only because she knew himself that she couldn't do it alone.

"Bitna, you can't dance"

"and why not?"

"your leg, sweetheart. it's-"

"i don't care if my leg is broken. i'll still dance, mom"

She's determined ( and stubborn ) to the things she particularly had an eye on. Especially when it's one of her goals. Nobody could really stop her from doing what she wants, only because the fire and passion inside her is still bursting widely. The only time she'll ever truly stop is when the determination in her eyes had faded. Other than that, she'll definitely do what ahe wants to do- no matter what the situation or cirumstances she's in.

"noona... i have something to tell you"

"hmm?"

"i like... hyung?"

"..." [ blinks ]

"you're not mad?"

"why would i? just because he's a guy and you're a guy too?"

"well.."

"love's not limited to genders, kiddo. and i am definitely not like most koreans either"

"you're half-korean, noona"

"that's not really the point"

Bitna's an open-minded woman. She had already seen different kinds of people in different perspective; accepting and understanding them instead of judging. She doesn't really give a single crap about what the person's background is nor what people had think of them. The only thing that matters is the true personality they are showing, or sometimes hiding.

"WHY IS EVERYONE USING THE GODDAMN WIFI"

God bless this girl for her patience. She's more than willing to wait than giving up on something, especially when he knows that it will happen. It's something about Bitna's strong faith that made her turn into this, in which the members truly needed. Whenever the others are being restless about something, specifically negativity swimming in their mind, she's not going to hesitate to tell them what she believes would happen; explaining that patience can lead them anywhere and that you'll truly wait for it if you want it. Sure enough, it works most of the time.

Being closed-off is something Bitna would always admit. She was never particularly in-tuned with her feelings, but rather wanting to keep her problems and emotions to herself. It's a bit contradicting to her logical side, since she knew it was never a good idea to hide things from people when they could actually help. However, due to her being independent as well, it results to her closing everyone off when she has problems to deal with in which she thinks she can handle on his own. The members have to really be patient and drill her just to confess her frustrations. Plus, she's an introvert, it's kind of hard to socialize and tell a story to someone she's not even close to.

"what's bothering you, Bitna?"

"uh, nothing?"

[ sighs ] "Bitna, as your leader, i have the right to know what's bothering you. is it your leg again?"

"like i said, i'm perfectly fine. anyway, did you even heard what manager-nim just said earlier? cuz you're busy talking with maknae"

Ignorant is one of her flaws that somewhat interconnects to her being closed-off to people. Again, she's never used to telling people her own fears, problems and frustrations. Due to these pent-up problems, she ends up ignoring it; to distract herself from thinking about it too much. It's really a trait Bitna's trying to change, especially when her co-trainees had already talked to her about this, but old habits are hard to die.

She's hot-tempered, yes, but there are only clarifications and specifications on when she'll ever outburst. Most of them are due to being over-stressed. Of course Bitna can't really bottle up her anger when she's clearly frustrated and stress is already taking a toll on her, both physically and mentally. So she ended up outbursting out of nowhere when she obviously couldn't take it. Bitna rarely gets mad, so whenever she releases her furiousness, it's quite scary, to put it frankly. Especially when she turns a bit too vulgar when bursting.

"oh god I'm going okay? are you my mom?"

The best way to stop Bitna from dying is to literally drag her away from the task she's doing. The girl's literally persistent to the core and would stop at nothing until she finishes her task. Just like when she's making a choreography, Kyuchan would always be found inside the dance studio, eyeing the mirror deadly as she watches her own body move to the beat and see if it fits perfectly with the song her members and producers had made. If you want her to eat food and live her life, just drag her out of the dance studio or to whatever place she's hiding in.

BACKGROUND Bitna, to say the least, grew up in an average family with her being the only child. Her Korean father is a construction worker and her Canadian mother is a housewife. Her love for dancing didn't bloomed until she watched a ballet performance of The Nutcracker with her parents as a present for her 10th birthday as she loved the story of it. The sight of girls and boys dancing in their tippy toes and being graceful like swans had mesmerized her, and soon enough- she wanted to be like them too.

Her parents were never strict, and would most likely approve to everything she adores. She was allowed to study ballet in one of Seoul's ballet classes as her dream of being a ballet dancer had been encircling her mind for days ever since she had watched The Nutcracker. As days turned to years, Bitna was already 16 but to no avail, she still didn't managed to perform with the veteran ballet dancers. She doesn't know why nor she even has the liberty to ask since her teachers often change the subject. It didn't stopped her though, thinking that she just lacks something. So she continued to practice.

Her life didn't became worse, as her father died while working on a building they're required to finish in such a short amount of time. It was a single slip. Such simple thing had caused the downfall to Bitna's life. Since her father had been the breadwinner, his absence had caused a huge downfall to her and her mother's life. Due to this, she had then decided to juggle her time between studies, ballet classes and part-time jobs just for the sake of living as her mother had suddenly began to turn ill, very terribly.

They couldn't ask for help from her relatives in Canada since her mother's relationship with them is rather tensed after she chose to marry a Korean man ( a poor one, her mother's mother had once said ) instead of the man they arranged for her to marry. Thankfully, Bitna's smart and has earned a scholarship immediately. She once again lifted herself and her mother's life up---with Bitna paying her mother's hospital and medicine bills, wanting her to feel better before starting to look for a job to help the two of them survive. Bitna might have thought that her problems would stop from there. She was definitely, and utterly wrong.

During her ballet practice in the middle of the winter season, a terrible accident had occured where her male dancer partner had accidentally stepped hard on her whole left leg while she was standing on a pose, the said leg stretched out behind her. A broken leg had resulted to it, and the practice had adrubtly stopped because of it. It took a surgery to mend the broken bone, and the sad news of her not allowed to do ballet anymore had took a huge toll on her mentally. Problems after problems had began to pile up on her, worrying how they'll ever going to survive like this when her mother had just gotten better and still didn't have a job and her part-time job that she couldn't continue workiing on because she has to heal her leg---she just wanted to finish her rehabilitation immediately to do something.

Ballet always had a special place in her heart, and the fact that this injury of hers had deprived her from doing it made her devastated as her leg bone wouldn't be able to handle her body weight whenever she has to stand on her toes. However, she had resoluted to something else instead a year after her accident. Hiphop dancing. Seeing the busy teens dancing publicily in the streets of Seoul had piqued her interest in this new type of genre, thinking that it isn't too much for her poor once-injured leg. She then began to watch them, but she didn't have the heart to practice them when she's still in the middle of rehabilitation.

Despite that, it still doesn't help the fact that it wouldn't help her earn money by just watching them dance in public. She had waited for 2 years for his rehab to finish, and that's the time when she saw a poster that stated auditions are available under YG Entertainment, one of the famous music companies in Korea. She then decided that becoming an idol can help her earn enough money to help her and her mother, and so she joined the auditions. It was quite odd that she performed ballet instead of hiphop ( which is the most common dance genre to use in terms of being a kpop idol ) and it's obvious that she has no experience to the genre either. At first, they had totally rejected her, but Bitna being Bitna, she had convinced them that she can learn hiphop quickly.

One of the managers had also noticed something odd about her leg, and when Bitna admitted about her injury, it gave all the more reason for them to reject her. But she had told them that her injury is now healed over the years. She insisted that she's still good to dance---just not as hard as ballet. She was then accepted into the company after the that.
