Chapter Eleven
Lamia FebrisChapter Eleven
After the guards had taken away the other vampire Jungkook felt the eyes of the students on him but he was only focused on Jimin. As he walked closer to the students, closer to Jimin the other vampires hissed in response. Some were still standing in front of the human students, there to protect them. Jungkook however wasn’t worried, sure he had just gotten into what was the second fight in his life and the adrenaline his body was running on made him jittery but he felt in control. The pulsing in his eye had calmed down and it was just barely there, only edging at the surface. Jungkook could feel all the cuts in his skin mending, the skin stitching itself back together before nothing but smooth skin was left in its placed, as if he had never been cut in the first.
Once he was standing just a foot or two away from Jimin he relaxed his body and asked, “Are you alright? You didn’t get hurt did you?”
The look Jimin gave him was unreadable. Jungkook could listen and hear the fast thumping in Jimin’s chest. The boy really was scared of him…
“Am I hurt, you ask if I’m hurt when you were totally just almost flayed a moment ago?! Jungkook that was so awesome! I mean I’ve seen some fights but nothing compared to that.” The boy said, his smile big, taking up the whole bottom of his face.
“Wait so you’re not scared of me? You don’t feel threatened?” Jungkook asked confused. How could this human boy be so calm while the rest of the class was on high alert? Was the boy’s instincts broken?
“Threatened I could kiss you right now for what you did! Jungkook that was literally amazing. You just saved the whole class and the way you moved, it was so different from normal vampires and gosh your eye, it was silver!”
As Jimin his joy the rest of the vampire students began to glare hard at the boy. Their bodies didn’t read worried, but something else. They looked like they were teaming up against him and whole there was no physical line separating them Jungkook couldn’t have felt more alone that was until he had an arm full of Jimin. The boy was literally hugging him, blood covered shirt and all. The look of disgust on the classmate’s faces was almost comical.
“Um…Jimin I’m covered in blood and my shirt is ruined and…”
“Oh be quiet you are ruining a beautiful moment, but you are right about one thing you do happen to look a mess. My Jungkook I can even see a from your shirt. Oh the indecency! Hey mom can I take Jungkook to get a change of clothes?” Jimin asked his mother who was trying to round up her students to do a head check.
“Um yes…but hurry back alright. They really don’t want students out in the halls right now.” Mrs. Park said before waving them off.
Jimin quickly grabbed Jungkook by the arm and lead the boy down the hall. About half way down however he said,
“Take your shoes off, your putting bloody foot prints everywhere. Think of the janitor Jungkook.” Jimin said sarcastically. Jungkook looked at the boy like he was crazy but then he leaned in and whispered, “We don’t want to be followed.”
Jungkook didn’t feel any eyes on him and his senses were much better than Jimin’s but he took them off anyway to humor the boy, or so he thought until he got to the locker that Jimin brought him too. Jimin quickly turned the knob, doing this and that to unlock it and when it opened up it was just the first locker but a few of them. Jimin hadn’t unlocked a locker but a door. Jimin quickly stepped to the side to allow Jungkook room to step inside. The doorway was pitch black but Jungkook could see the faint outline of walls.
Jimin was quick to push the boy inside and shut the door. Jimin was strangely good at navigating in the dark for a human. Jungkook could mostly see while he knew that it was probably pitch black to Jimin’s eyes. Once they got to a clearing Jimin flipped a switch to activate the lights.
“I’ll never get over how cool that is.” Jimin said looking at Jungkook. Jungkook assumed it was his eye, the one that had caused nothing but trouble since it surfaced but still it had saved Jimin’s life. That was worth something right?
Looking around the room Jungkook saw what looked like a small computer lab mixed with a medical room. Just where had the boy taken him?
“Welcome to the Grove Jungkook, my mom’s private office and our new unofficial club house.”
“Club house? I thought we were just getting me a shirt?” Jungkook didn’t feel worried per say but he still felt confused maybe.
“We that too but wouldn’t you much rather see what’s going on with that vampire that attacked us?”
Jungkook was about to ask how they would possibly do that until the monitors on the wall showed all the school camera feed and on the right hand monitor they just so happened to see the nurses office. Catching the shirt that Jimin at aimed for Jungkook’s face while he wasn’t looking, Jungkook turned to look at Jimin.
“Yea…I’ll never get over that!” Looking up at the monitor Jungkook pulled his shirt over his head. While any sane person would say no to this Jungkook just took a seat. His world was different now and he needed to act like it if he was going to survive.
