A slim brunette in her twenty eight was being escorted by a police woman to a huge sliding gate, her face appeared aging according to her late twenty of age, visible wrinkles at the edge of her eyes and forehead, her hair was tired loosely.

“Good luck to you Park Hyomin” A middle age police woman said, putting her hand on her shoulder.

“Thanks Sergeant Lee” Hyomin smiled at her and bowed her head at the woman

As soon as her foot stepped out of the forbidden area, the gate was slowly closing, Hyomin took one last look at the place she was serving her sentence for 6 years, a torturing life behind the bar that nobody wished to experience, neither did she. The day she longed for has come, she was desperate to leave this awful hell on earth called prison, she was ecstatic to feel liberty again. Turning her head right and left, Hyomin had no idea where to start, it has been six years since she had a full view of the road, things dramatically changed within a half decade, sure enough Hyomin had to catch things up or even started all over again but she wouldn’t care less, she believed there would be nothing out there as worse as life behind this high brick wall.

“Unnie” Hyomin instinctively turned her head around to see a tall pretty woman dressed neatly in black skinny, and knee-length creamy trench coat with long brown wavy hair was running her way, Hyomin stood still staring at her, despite so much change in her appearance, Hyomin could remember the girl by heart, the girl she loved more than her life itself that she could do everything for, even …..

“Unnie” The girl threw herself at Hyomin wrapping her arms around her slim waist.

“Jiyeon” Hyomin hugged the girl back tightly.

“I’m sorry unnie” Jiyeon said, her husky voice was trembling.

“Sshh” Hyomin made a sound, Jiyeon went quiet

“You don’t have to come, you know” Hyomin released a hug and looked at Jiyeon with her full eyes

“I’ve patiently waited for this day, how can I miss it?” Jiyeon retorted

“You’ve grown up” Hyomin smiled happily, seeing how Jiyeon grew up as a healthy and beautiful woman.

“Unnie, you get so thin” Jiyeon caressed her older sister’s face, guilt was eating her from inside.

“I’m fine, Jiyeon ah” Hyomin smiled reassuringly, Jiyeon bit her lower lip

 “You are as tall as me now” Hyomin giggled and Jiyeon smiled along

“I miss you unnie” Jiyeon drew her older sister into her embrace and rested her head on her shoulder

 “ I miss you too” Hyomin caressed Jiyeon’s back

“Let’s go home unnie” Jiyeon said, slowly breaking their embrace.

“Home” Hyomin thought, she was finally going back home 

Jiyeon grabbed Hyomin’s hand and led her to a car, a black SUV. Hyomin stared at LCD screen settled before her, it showed direction to direction with object moving.

“Unnie, that’s GPS” Jiyeon told her sister because the older girl kept staring at it like a kid with a question mark , “ It tells you the direction” Jiyeon added, and Hyomin nodded, understood.

“Qri unnie said sorry for not be able to pick you up with me but she will come to our home later” Jiyeon informed her sister.

“Tell her not to worry” Hyomin said in monotone, Jiyeon took a quick glance at her sister. The rest of the journey Hyomin was interested at the view outside, things certainly changed.

Hyomin traced her palm along soft fabric of her bed cover sheet, she forgot how it felt to sleep on comfortable bed, her backbone was straightened getting used to hard surface of chilly dark room. She slumped her back on the bed, it was little bouncing, Hyomin closed her eyes feeling comfy sensation, later she felt her bed sunk with extra weight, she opened her eyes and saw Jiyeon laid next to her.

“Unnie” Jiyeon said in venerable voice

“Jiyeon, please” Hyomin warned, “For unnie, please don’t ever mention about it again”, Jiyeon nodded.

“Let’s begin a new” Jiyeon looked at the ceiling, “From now on, I’ll protect you” Jiyeon announced, Hyomin smiled.

“Why don’t you go wash and I’ll prepare dinner for us” Jiyeon got up and extended her hand to Hyomin, pulling her older sister up.

“Are you sure your cooking is edible?” Hyomin asked

“You’ll never have enough of it” Jiyeon boasted confidently.

“I can’t wait” Hyomin said, getting up.

“Hurry up and go wash then, I’ve prepared fresh new clothes for you in your wardrobe” Jiyeon told her sister.

“Thanks Jiyeon ah” Hyomin said  

“That’s very little I can do for you unnie” Jiyeon replied

 “Go and prepare dinner, I can’t wait to try my little sister’s cooking” Hyomin ruffled Jiyeon’s hair.

Jiyeon eagerly went to kitchen to cook while Hyomin was having a long shower, letting hot shower running through her tired body, it was heavenly. More than 30 minutes in bathroom, Hyomin walked out fresh and relaxing, she was rummaging through stack of new and freshly washed clothes in her wardrobe, she smiled at how thoughtful Jiyeon was now, the color and shade of the clothes was all her favorite ones, though not familiar with the outfit’s style, she guessed it might be fashion of nowadays, picking up light blue short and white t-shirt , Hyomin dressed up and proceeded to kitchen.

Hyomin enjoyed every dishes Jiyeon cooked, it was more than good, it was fantastic. Jiyeon smiled proudly at her job, her sister finished almost every dishes, it was the most wonderful dinner she had ever have in 6 years, the day her sister had finally returned home “From this day on let me take care of you unnie, I’ll protect you”

“She was released earlier by 4 years due to her well-behavior, good service and useful devotion in prison, the sentence was decreased to 6 years from 10 years” A man was informing his boss, there was no response but next thing he witnessed, made his cold sweat running down his forehead, a wine glass was sent flying past his face and hit the wall, creating a loud scattered sound.

“Get out” A woman ordered, the man quickly took his leave.

“Six years huh” A woman laughed , she got up from her seat and warded off all stuff on her desk in anger.

“ Even your whole life isn’t enough , Park Hyomin” Eunjung shouted

Author note : Have not decided yet if it will be a long or short story , but for sure it will be a bit dark . Stay tuned
