It was a war zone

There were bullets flying everywhere and it was bloody

You had managed to dodge every bullet that came your way and kill everyone in your target zone

“___, go find him! We’ve got you covered!” You heard Hoseok yelling

You immediately dashed in the direction from before

There was a gunshot right behind you and you skid to a stop

“Just me! I’m right behind you.” Jungkook yelled after another gunshot

You turned around and continued running, trying to remember the room Taehyung was in

You were lost again

“ it all.” You spit as you stopped. You were lost again

“They’ll never get to you!” You whipped your head at the voice

“ you.” You heard another voice

“Taehyung!” You screamed in a whisper and went in the direction

You crouched down by the door and peeked in

Your breath got caught in your throat and a scream got stuck as you saw Taehyung

Blood. There was blood everywhere. Taehyung was limp against the chains and there was blood dripping from his mouth

His shirt was gone and there were fresh wounds littered around his torso

You didn’t know what to do. You didn’t know what you could do

“You’re friends are here. They’ll never get to you in time.” The boss laughed and kicked Taehyung’s side

“I’ll live long enough to see one of them shoot your guts out. Don’t worry.” Taehyung coughed out and more blood came out

You saw the boss frown and run his hand through his hair

“Why don’t you give up Taehyung? I’ll be most glad to take you back.”

“I don’t work with the likes of you. Nasty and filthy dogs that kill for fun.”

The boss kicked Taehyung’s face and picked up a gun, “It hurts to hear that from you pretty lips Taehyung.” He sneered and held up the gun

“Too bad, the things that come out aren’t as pretty.” Taehyung answered and glared up at the boss

You wanted to run in, but you knew it wouldn’t help. The boss would be able to shoot you before you could even step inside. You couldn’t shoot from your position either. You didn’t have a clean shot

You heard the click of a gun

“I’m sorry it had to end this way Taehyung. You were a great asset to my team.”

“Don’t make me laugh.”

The boss laughed, “You’re right. You were back then. But you would have been great if you joined now. Too bad I guess. See you in Hell.”

You panicked and held your gun, ‘I have to do something!’

“Sto-!” You screamed but got cut short when you were thrown to the ground

“Not so fast.” You looked up and cursed

The men had caught up

“Oh? Seems like our second guest came back?” The boss walked up to you, “And you brought your friends.” He smiled and grabbed your hair

You clawed at his hands as he pulled

“That was a smart move on your behalf I must say.” He laughed in your ear and dropped you, “I’ve had lots of fun with Taehyung since you left. Look at my art!”

You looked over at Taehyung and almost cried. His eyes were closed with blood flowing down from his head covering them

“Tae…” You bit your lip

“I was just about to say goodbye to him actually. Maybe I’ll let you watch the final touch.”

You glared at the boss, “You’re a monster.”

He laughed and clapped his hands, “That I am! Thank you.”

“You won’t get away. They’ll kill you.” You sneered and spit at him

His smile disappeared and he grabbed your hair and pulled you to your knees

“I’ll get away. Don’t you worry. You’ll be too dead to know.” He threw you backwards and laughed as he clicked his gun

You held your head as the boss walked over to Taehyung

You held up your gun weakly, “Stop!” You screamed and pulled the trigger without aim

Your vision went black for a couple of seconds and then you were lifted into the air and thrown across the room

You breathed hard and the boss’ laugh echoed through the room and as he sat on your legs

“You think you’re a smart girl don’t you?” He smiled and leaned down

“Let me tell you something ___.” He grabbed your throat and squeezed, “You aren’t.”

You gasped for air, your eyes going wide

“Maybe I’ll end you first, then put you beside Taehyung and let him grieve. Yes. Yes I like that!” He laughed obnoxiously and squeezed harder

You grabbed and pulled at his hands as the air was getting cut off

“Stop it! Leave her! It’s me you want dead!” You heard Taehyung shouting in the background

“I changed my mind!” The boss laughed harder as he squeezed

Your vision was darkening by the second and you felt lightheaded

You felt a tear slip down and you used the last of your strength to claw at the boss’ hands

“I-I hop-pe you r-rot in H-Hell!” You screamed

BANG BANG BANG

The pressure was gone and you sat up and breathed heavily, eyes wide

You gasped for air as you looked down at the boss’ limp body

“___! Taehyung!” You looked at the door and your eyes widened more

“JIMIN!?”

Jimin ran over to Taehyung and kneeled by him

You stared at him, “What the actual are you doing here!?”

He glanced at you and smiled, “I might have ran out of the hospital.”

You pushed yourself up and ran over as well

“We need to get him to the hospital.” Jimin’s eyes went wide as he held Taehyung

You kneeled and held his body, “Taehyung?”

He nodded and smiled lightly, “Jimin you stupid idiot.”

Jimin laughed and pointed his gun at the chains and shot them

Taehyung limped forward and you caught him

“Let’s get out of here.” Jimin smiled at you sadly as he ran his fingers over the new bruise on your neck

You nodded and held Taehyung tighter

“___! Taehyung!” You turned your head to the door as Namjoon ran in, the other’s right behind him

“Jimin!?” Hoseok’s eyes went wide

Jimin smiled and shrugged his shoulders

Namjoon shook his head, “Later. We need to get out first!”

You nodded and Jungkook walked up to you and took Taehyung, putting him over his back

“Lead the way Namjoon.”

Namjoon nodded and walked out, but not before throwing a small ball into the room

You looked at him with a raised eyebrow

He smirked, “Why should we leave without a little boom?”

Your eyes widened a little and you quickened your pace

Once everyone was in the car Namjoon smiled and looked at everyone’s relieved faces

You fiddled in your seat as you watched Jungkook wipe the blood off of Taehyung’s face

“Here Tae.” Namjoon held out his hand that had a remote

Taehyung glanced at Namjoon before taking the remote and pressing the button without hesitation

You waited five seconds before the entire building exploded

“Boom.” Namjoon laughed and knocked on the separator, “Hospital. Asap.”

You didn’t wait for anyone and pulled Taehyung into your arms before closing your eyes and rubbing his arm while falling asleep

“He’s fine, the bruises will heal with rest.” The doctor assured the gang and smiled at Jimin, “But you kid, why did you think it was a good idea to run out of the hospital like that?”

Jimin bit his lip and picked at his IV, “I had to. I couldn’t stay in the hospital and do nothing.”

“Jimin you’re in no position to fight right now. Your wound opened again.” The doctor shook his head and bowed before leaving

“Jimin.” Namjoon called

Jimin looked up and you saw his eyes glaze over, “I had to Namjoon. You know I had too.”

Namjoon stared at Jimin and closed his mouth

“You could have gotten killed Jimin.” Jungkook spoke up and put his hand on Jimin’s shoulder

Jimin nodded, “But so could have Taehyung, or ___.”

Jungkook also closed his mouth

You smiled and sat down beside Jimin, “Thank you. Thank you so much.”

Jimin looked up at you and smiled back, “We lost each other once. We’re not losing each other again.”

You nodded and put your hand on the back of his head

“I’m sure Taehyung is more grateful than me right now.”

Jimin’s smile faltered, “How is he?”

“Sleeping. He’s sedated so he can’t move.” Jin spoke up as he entered the room, “His bruises were horrible. He won’t be up and moving for a while either.”

Namjoon stood up and sighed in relief, “At least our enemy was taken care of. Now we can rest without interruptions.”

“So we’re on halt?” Hoseok spoke up too

Namjoon nodded, “Do whatever you want for the next couple of weeks. I don’t want to see you at the club.” He smiled and walked over to Jimin, “And I especially don’t want to see you out of this bed. I’ll have someone watching.”

Jimin bit his lip and nodded

“Same with Taehyung. I know you’re going to be watching over him Jungkook.”

Jungkook nodded, “Neither of them will leave the hospital.”

“Great then. I’m going out of the city for some business. Yoongi will keep me updated. If something happens, don’t fight back. Hide instead. No one is in the state to fight, physically or mentally.” Namjoon spoke again as he walked to the door

“Stay safe.” He smirked and walked out

Jin smiled and sat down in his spot, “So what’s everyone going to do?”

Yoongi shrugged, “Namjoon said not to go back to the club, but that’s home for most of us, so I’m just planning on sleeping.”

You heard Hoseok snort from his spot, “That is definitely so you.”

Yoongi only smiled smugly in response

“___?” Jin looked at you next

You mimicked Yoongi’s action and shrugged, “The club is technically home for me too. But I guess I might just spend time relaxing in my apartment or coming here.”

“Oh, maybe I’ll just raid your apartment and sleep there.” Yoongi’s eyes brightened

You rolled your own

“That’s not a bad idea. It might actually be safer to crash at ___’s apartment instead of going back to the club for the next couple of weeks.” Jin sat forward

Everyone nodded in agreement and looked at you

You smiled, “It’s a long sleepover then I guess.”

Everyone laughed and you joined them

“I’ll go get groceries later.”

You brushed Taehyung’s hair away from his face and sighed

He was fast asleep with bandages all over his body

You opened your mouth to say something, but closed it again since you couldn’t think of anything to say

What could you say?

Putting your hands on top of his you rested your head and closed your eyes

“Get better soon Tae.” You whispered pathetically

You were feeling drowsy when you felt someone’s hand on your shoulder

“___, come.” You looked up at Jungkook

You followed him out of the room and down to the cafeteria

“What’s up?” You asked him as soon as you two sat down with snacks

Jungkook hesitated and picked at his food

“Jungkook?” You called again

He looked up at you slowly and sighed

“Thank you.” He finally spoke

You furrowed your eyebrows, “For?”

Jungkook shrugged, “Everything you’ve done?”

You shook your head, “Jungkook you lost me at thank you.”

He smiled slightly, “Do you want to hear a story?”

You were getting more and more confused, “Sure?”

Jungkook nodded

“There was once a little boy who grew up in the worst living conditions. His parents were gang leaders and they harbored no emotions except hate and more hate. This boy was trained to kill before he was trained to use a potty. The boy grew up with no love and he didn’t know what basic human needs and emotions were. He was an assassin from a very young age and he was the best of the best. He didn’t even know how the normal world worked, because all he knew was the many different ways of killing and torturing people.” Jungkook’s voice shook and you put your hand on top of his

“He didn’t know why he was doing what he was doing. All he knew was that he had to follow orders otherwise he would be the one on the short side of the stick.”

“Jungkook…” You whispered and rubbed his hand. You had no clue why he decided to tell you this right now

“That boy was rescused on a failed mission when his parents got caught up with a gang they couldn’t handle and another gang came in and helped finished it off. At that point, that little boy was so closed off that he didn’t even feel remorse when he…” Jungkook closed his eyes and took a breath, “He didn’t even feel a tiny amount of remorse when he shot two bullets between his mother and father’s eyes.”

Your eyes widened and you squeezed is hand

Jungkook looked up at you with glazed eyes and a sad smile

“That boy was me.”

You knew he was talking about himself, but him actually saying that made your heart lurch

“___, I wanted to tell you, but I couldn’t. I didn’t want you to know.”

You nodded, “I understand. That’s not a story you can just tell anyone.”

“But I wanted to tell you. You’re family now.”

You smiled, “Thanks for telling me.”

Jungkook nodded and took a deep breath

“When the boys took me in, I talked to no one, but Taehyung made me open up by constantly bothering me. He made sure to always include me in their conversations and eventually I started talking to them individually. Jimin was easy to connect to, since his personality was similar to mine and the others were just like older brothers I never had.”

You smiled fondly as Jungkook talked about the others, you could tell how much he loved them

“I had a home, but I never really had a family. Until I joined them.”

You hummed in response, “I feel the same. With my parents, I never actually felt a connection. I never felt like they were family.”

Jungkook nodded this time and bit his lip

You smiled, “Thank you for telling me Jungkook. I’m glad you trust me that much.”

He smiled back, “You more than deserve to know. You’ve saved us countless times and put yourself at risk for each of us. I can see how much you care, everyone can.”

Your smile only deepened and you felt a small blush

“In the past weeks you’ve only rooted yourself into our gang and after we found out you were Jimin’s sister, it only made you stay with us more.”

Jungkook stood up and walked around the table to you making you stand up, “If anyone has to say thank you without stopping, its us.” He pulled you into a hug

You wrapped your arms around Jungkook and rested your head on his chest.

He was right, you cared for each boy equally and they were more than family to you. Even in the beginning when you were still awkward, you still felt more at home than you ever did with your own family.

You sighed and rubbed Jungkook’s back, “Lets say goodbye to Jimin and Taehyung, then go back and get some rest?”

Jungkook pulled back and nodded a small blush on his face

You pinched his cheeks and led the way back up

The next couple of chapters are going to be a little sappy and emotional with like barely any action. But you know, action is fun sooooo ;)
