Lee Donghae is close – pretty close.

Ever since Sooyeon left, he promised to his self to make her his when she gets back and when he sees her again. Who would’ve thought it’s already happening right now? God knows how much he finds it surreal with everything that is happening but the only thing that mattered is she’s finally here.

Donghae couldn’t quite focus on the stacks of papers he needs to review and sign. He couldn’t quite resist himself to glance at her every damn second. She was just so beautiful even when she’s doing nothing. Sooyeon is the definition of perfection. And if you would ask him what the word beautiful means, the only thing that comes up to his mind is Sooyeon’s name.

In fact, saying she’s pretty would be an understatement because for him, Sooyeon is more than that. She’s beyond pretty and beautiful and perfect and everything. He couldn’t explain what is it he’s feeling whenever he sees her. It’s like his heart is almost getting out of his chest, jumping in joy. It feels like there’s a thousand of drums in his heart that it keeps on pounding whenever he sees her smile. Everything about Sooyeon makes him feel something and that something feels too nice for Lee Donghae.

Donghae tried to shake off his thoughts away to concentrate but again, it’s no work. How is he supposed to get done with his job? Sometimes, hiring Sooyeon as his executive assistant has a disadvantage. She drives him crazy and out of his mind. He keeps on losing his track whenever he feels her presence. There’s something with her presence that hits him hard. However, rather than that one disadvantage, there’s nothing else that follows. There are way too many advantages in hiring her as his executive assistant. But of course, work will always be work and he needs to be professional during working hours.

Little did his other employees know that he’s feeling something towards the new executive assistant of their boss.

He never failed to drive her home every single day after work. He would always ask her to join him for lunch. He would always ask her get some coffee with him every morning that left their co-workers wondering if there’s something going on between them.

Almost a month had passed since Sooyeon started working in LGC’s architectural firm where her love interest is the so-called Big Boss. Yup, her co-workers would always call him that whenever he’s not around. She laughed when she first heard it without any reason. Maybe because she just didn’t expect that everything will lead up here? Back then, Donghae was just a stranger, a kind stranger who helped her out of that pub where she decided to get wasted. A stranger she barely knows who helped her get through her miserable times. He was there to cheer and lift her up. He was there at her worst and he was there at times of happiness.

She’s very thankful for that.

How could God give her someone like him knowing she didn’t even know him at the first place. She must’ve done something right to deserve someone like him.

Sooyeon was very aware of Donghae’s actions. He’s been extra-caring ever since she got there. He treats her warmly and… loved, should I say. She feels extra important with him and it feels like he’s giving her a special treatment. At first, she thought everything that he does was nothing and thought that maybe he’s just really like that. But then, as time went by, he proved her judgement wrong. She was the only person whom he treats special like that.

What happened before is still vivid in her memory. She knows very well to herself that he’s into him. Sooyeon just didn’t imagine that up until now, he still is and maybe that’s why Donghae’s acting that way and doing those sweet stuffs to her. She couldn’t help but to blush. She didn’t thought that after all these years had gone by, he still feels the same way. How could he wait that long? How could he do such thing? She was away for a long time and yet, he’s there waiting for her back from where she came from.

The thought makes her love him more.

Yes, love.

There’s no any reason to deny such fact. She knows she’s in love with him and even though it took her some time before she realized it, it didn’t matter because the only thing that matters to her the most is him and what she truly feels for him.

“I just can’t understand what takes him long to finally say that he loves me!” Sooyeon asked her bestfriend, Taeyeon one morning. They were sitting on the stool with their cup of coffees and talking about stuffs when the conversation went to Donghae.

“They say, if the opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door. If he’s not making any move so there will be some progress, then go and make a move, Jung Sooyeon.” Taeyeon suggested, smiling that Cheshire-cat smile that Sooyeon always finds creepy.

Sooyeon winced after seeing that expression on her bestfriend’s face. “I just can’t make the first move! It’s… it’s way too inappropriate! Guys will always be the one who will make the first move, not girls, duh.” She rolled her eyes and sipped her coffee.

“I know, you got the point.” Taeyeon sighed and agreed. “I’m just wondering when the hell he is going to man up and blurt those words out in front of you.”

“Me too, Taeng. The thought always got me wondering,” Sooyeon wondered.

“Tell you what,” Taeyeon spoke after sipping a coffee. “Heechul-oppa once told me that it was never easy for guys to tell girls what they really feel. Like us, they’re also afraid of rejections. Maybe they just don’t want to show it. But yes, he told me it requires a lot of courage to do something like that. Maybe that’s the reason why Donghae’s still not saying anything to you?”

Sooyeon pouted and shrugged.

“You mentioned before that he almost said it to you,” Taeyeon pointed her index finger at Sooyeon, trying to remember that exact time where Sooyeon told her the night that Donghae almost said those three  meaningful words to Sooyeon. “W-What happened back then?”

Sooyeon looked a bit surprised and disappointed. “He almost did, yes. But I stopped him from saying so,”

Without further hesitation, Taeyeon lightly hit Sooyeon’s head.

“That’s just the stupidest thing you’ve ever done to your life, Jung Sooyeon.” Taeyeon told.

“Heeey, what was that for?!” Sooyeon asked in a whining tone.

“You stopped him from saying I love you to you and now you’re asking me when he will say those three words again to you?! Goodness gracious, Sooyeon. You’re unbelievable. He’s almost there and yet you stopped him? Jeeez, what have you done?” Taeyeon sounded so frustrated while she’s acting very frustrated. Obviously, she ships the two way too hard. She just couldn’t understand why the hell they won’t be just together so everything will just be perfect and complicated.

“Everything in my life was so messed up back then, alright? I just broke up with my ex that time and I just couldn’t risk it. I need space and time and so I did such thing. I wasn’t too numb to feel that he loves me but for me, it wasn’t the right time back then. Yes, I feel something for him during those times. Heaven knows how much I wanted to hear those words from him so I’ll get to reply those words back to him. But it wasn’t the right time!” Sooyeon explained. “You got no chill, huh?”

“Sorry, I overreacted.”

“It’s okay,” Sooyeon gave her a smile and checked the time that reads 8:07 AM. “Oops, I need to get ready! My boss has a meeting at 9:30 with some engineers.”

Taeyeon snorted.

“Boss?” she tch­-ed. “More like your lover.”

“Whatever, midget.”

Why is Lee Donghae always damn attractive and err… looks y by just wearing a suit and tie? Sure, just like what she always tells about his professional look, he looks neat and expensive. His hair is always slipped back whenever he goes to work but when he’s just at home, his hair is always in a mess and disheveled. But either way, he still looks y in every style he goes with.

If Donghae is distracted at work because of her, then same goes with Sooyeon. Donghae has always been a distraction for Sooyeon that sometimes she’s forcing herself to just turn her back towards him so she would finish her job on time. He’s a walking temptation, distraction, perfection and everything. No wonder all the girl employees were swooning over him.

Of course, she couldn’t help but to feel annoyed. But knowing there’s nothing she could do about it, she just let them. After all, how could they not like their boss? He’s the perfect catch. He looks like a bad boy in a suit.

When she arrived, Donghae was already there – as always. And of course, her morning at work wouldn’t be complete without the coffee on her desk, waiting for her. Together with the cup of coffee, there’s always a note that never failed to make her smile.

Every note she receives always says how much important she is, how beautiful she is, how lovely she is, how *insert adjectives here* she is. Every adjective that fits her would do. And who do you think those notes came from? Of course, none other than Lee Donghae, the one and only.

Sooyeon couldn’t help herself but too smile while reading the note.

You have no idea how much you mean to me, SY. No one has ever made me feel like the way you make me feel :)

She was smiling too wide and Sooyeon has no idea how to stop herself from smiling. How can a simple yet sweet note can make her smile and happy like this? Lee Donghae surely knows how to play with words and it amazes her every damn time.

“I just died,” it was Donghae’s voice as he passed by that caught Sooyeon’s attention.

He was smirking with his right hand placed on his chest. Sooyeon let out a small giggle, finding his actions cute. He was always that playful. How could someone die by just a smile? Weird as it sounds, but it is what it is.

“No one dies by just a smile, pabo!” Sooyeon replied and the power of her laptop.

Donghae turned around and looked at her. “Oh yeah? You’re saying something, Miss Jung?”

Hesitating as she was, Sooyeon still managed to have an eye contact with him. Damn his eyes!

“Tell me, Mr. Lee, how can a smile kill someone?” Sooyeon asked him, trying to make the question sound a bit challenging.

Donghae smirked. “You’re smile’s a killer, Miss Jung. How could you not die? Because if you’d asked me, I die every day by just seeing you smile.”

Sooyeon’s cheeks turned tomato red.

She just died… with so much love.

Took me forever to update. Again, sorry if it took me so long to write an update :( Everything was just keeping me very busy and giving me a lot of stress but anyway, sembreak is just around the corner. I only have a few days before my sembreak starts but for now, I have to focus on my final exams and after that I'm so done with the first semester haha! :) I know you guys have been waiting for my update and I apologize if this update is kinda short and lame(??). I just did this when something came up on my mind so yeah, sorry.
