Summer of Affliction7
I couldn’t take the silence anymore, so I decided to break it by recalling a memory Jieun and I shared here.
“We had our first kiss here. Do you remember?” I whispered. Jieun looked at me wide-eyed.
“Here? On your bed?” She gasped.
“Uh, yeah.” I laughed, “Why is that such a big deal?”
“It just seems kind of… immodest to have our first kiss on your bed.” Jieun explained.
“We’ve done worse.” I smirked. I didn’t know it was possible for her eyes to get any bigger than they already were, but Jieun proved me wrong.
“Oh my God. Are you serious?”
“Quite serious. We lost our ities to each other in this very spot.” I said, gesturing to the bed.
“Wow. I can’t believe I don’t remember that.” Jieun said, laughing nervously. While her reactions were amusing, I couldn’t help but feel hurt that she didn’t remember these intimate moments we shared. “I’m sorry.” She whispered. Looking into her eyes, her apology seemed genuine. I felt sorry too. She couldn’t help what happened.
“It’s okay, Jieun.” I said.
“No, it’s not okay. The fact that I don’t remember losing my ity to you or our first kiss is unforgivable.” I was about to say that it wasn’t her fault, but I was cut off. “Remind me.” Jieun said in a low voice. I was shocked that she was being so bold. She leaned closer to me, and by instinct, I reached my hand up to the side of her face, pulling her towards me. This kiss was long overdue. Our lips connected, and it was like electricity was coursing through my veins.

As our lips were pressed against each other, my heart was pounding. I was nervous. Yoongi was used to this kind of thing, and I was not. Despite my nervousness, our kiss intensified. He leaned closer towards me, forcing me to fall backwards onto his bed, our lips still connected and moving in unison. I was so sure that kissing Yoongi would bring back some memory of him, but it didn’t work. I pulled away from him- not that I wasn’t enjoying myself, but I felt like it was pointless to continue.
“What’s wrong?” Yoongi asked, slowly getting off of me.
“Nothing’s wrong. It’s just... I still can’t remember.” I answered. I looked at Yoongi’s eyes and they were cast downward in sadness. It sent an ache through my chest.
“Oh.” Yoongi mumbled. We sat there facing each other for a while before he spoke up again. “You have no idea how much I’ve missed that.”
“Missed what?” I asked.
“Kissing you.” He confessed. I blushed at his words.

Seeing Jieun blush made me want to kiss her again even more. It took all my will power not to. However, I could feel that there was something wrong. There was some sort of distance between us. I could definitely sense it, but I could not put my finger on w
