After the scandal was reported in Korea, YG told the press that Seungri was going through a period of self reflection. YG sent Daesung to babysit Seungri as he thought he would be a calming influence and he was in Japan at the same time. Jiyong flew back to Korea and busied himself with composing. He kept expecting time to skip forward but nothing notable happened for a few weeks. Jiyong went out with Taeyang and Top a few times and they  talked about missing their dongsaengs (younger members). Finally Jiyong finished enough songs to put together an album and YG agreed that they could begin promoting as a five again. YG knew that Bigbang were close but he thought Jiyong's and Top's expressions of elation when he announced they could perform together within a few days was a bit much. 

They met each other again only a few hours before the first performance. Top and Taeyang kept trying to greet each other properly but the choreographer moved Seungri into the middle of them, which also annoyed Seungri, who was sick of self reflection and wanted to thank Jiyong.  They didn't need much practice as they hadn't prepared a complicated dance for the new songs so they were just singing and doing basic steps. Practice was going fine until Taeyang tripped on a lose wire on the stage and landed on his hand. Taeyang kept insisting that he was fine so they wrapped his hand up and continued until the first few audience members walked in
