Namjoon and I ran swiftly but quietly up the stairs of my home. We reached the top of the stairs and entered my room, shutting the door tightly behind us. I dropped the bag with the bloody weapon on a pile of clothes on my floor and tossed myself onto my bed. Namjoon sat down beside me. It was dark in my room, and we stared blankly at the moonlight illuminating on my wall. It was silent for a few moments, but Namjoon decided to speak up.

“I can’t believe we just did that.” He said. I propped myself up on my elbows and eyed his expression.

“I know.” I answered simply. Really, what else could I say? Namjoon ran his tongue along his lower lip, still staring at the wall.

“All that rage… It just came out.” he said. I didn’t answer, for I didn’t know how to reply. “Do you know where it all came from?” Namjoon continued.

“What? The anger? No.” I said. Namjoon shifted his position and laid down, facing me.

“I’ve never talked about this before. You’re the first person I’ve even considered opening up to about this. My dad left us when we were still young, you already knew that. But I never told you exactly what happened.” He started. “My dad cheated on my mom so many times. He picked up es nearly every weekend. While my mom was trying to make ends meet and take care of me and my sister, he was spending our money on the es and hotel rooms. It got to the point where we almost lost the house. My mom finally told him to get out, so he left. She didn’t tell us what happened until we were old enough to understand… I hate anyone who’s similar to how my dad was. All that hatred I’ve had bottled up inside me for so long finally came out.” I was very surprised at this whole story; I had no idea Namjoon had such a sad childhood. My life was nothing like that. I guess my “childhood trauma” that made me the way I am today was caused by my brother. He always brought his friends home and I could hear their conversations in the next room through the wall. The way they talked about girls made me sick. They treated them as things to be used
