Keep calm, Joonmyun.

Joonmyun felt like his heart was about to beat right out of his chest as Jongdae pulled the door open. He imagined this gorgeous girl standing on the other end, actually deciding on going with him. He imagined them spending the entire night talking. And then he imagined going back to her room and giving her a great time.

But everything he imagined that would happen was shattered when the door opened and there stood an older woman with a maid cart.

Joonmyun’s face dropped and so did his heart. He couldn’t believe it. He had actually been stood up for the first time in a long time. How could that have happened? He thought he did a good job impressing her. Didn’t he?

It was true; he did get off the impression that she was wary of him. But he thought that maybe she would get over that and go out with him. That maybe they would have a great time and she’d want him as much as he wanted her.

But she didn’t come and he actually felt sad.

“She didn’t show …” Joonmyun turned around and walked to the window. He leaned his hands against it and sighed. She didn’t show …

Why was he so upset about this? She was just a girl. A random girl that he hardly knew anything about. He had never been so hung up over someone before and had never been this upset being stood up.

So why now? Why this girl? Why was she driving him absolutely insane? No girl has ever made him feel so … weak.

That’s how he felt. He felt weak. Jongdae had warned him long ago to not get attached. To not get worked up by some girl. He did his best to listen, but now … he had no idea why this was happening. He felt like he had been rejected. He practically had, right? She had flat out rejected him.

And he did not like being rejected.

“Hyung,” Jongdae spoke up, looking towards his friend. “Turn around, hyung.” Joonmyun groaned and spun around, imagining Jongdae with some smirk on his face. He knew he would be taunting him. That’s all he did when something was obviously bothering Joonmyun, so why wouldn’t he? But he stopped dead in his tracks when he faced in his direction, his eyes focusing on the outside of the door.

He could almost feel himself involuntarily shuffling towards the door, his eyes seeming like they were about to pop right out. There she stood. He couldn’t believe how absolutely beautiful she looked.

The girl had traded in her normal pastel, cute colours for something completely different. She wasn’t the normal ‘cute’ Chorong that Joonmyun had met the last few times. Truthfully, she was y.

He let his eyes wander down her ensemble, starting at the black fedora (her trademark) across the sleeveless black dress that stopped just above her knees, and onto the worn out pair of black converses that adorned her feet.

“Converses,” he laughed silently in his head. “Of course she would.”

But still, all in all, she was the normal ‘hat girl’ that he had met before. Her dark, smouldering makeup still portrayed the doe-eyed look that she pulled off so well. She was still herself, and Joonmyun didn’t understand how someone could pull something like that off and still hold true to their identity so well.

Joonmyun was honestly surprised that she was even standing there in front of him, let alone looking how she did. She looked downright sinful, and it made his job even tougher. He was supposed to be the one making the girls nervous, but this one was doing a hell of a job getting to him.

“Chorong,” he let out a breath of relief as a smile crept up on his face. “You came.” He wanted to just reach out and kiss her right then, but he didn’t want to risk the chance of her running away.

“Here I am.”

“Please,” he grinned widely, stepping out of the way, “come in.”

She gave a friendly smile and stepped inside, looking around. “You know, I kind of expected this place to be a mess.”

“Really? I’m actually very neat, thank you very much,” he closed the door behind her and turned back. “Chorong, this is my best friend Jongdae. Jongdae, this is Chorong.”

Jongdae put his drink down and took Chorong’s extended hand, lifting it up to his lips and kissing it gently. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Chorong. I’ve heard so much about you.”

For some reason, Joonmyun couldn’t help but feel a twinge of jealousy watching Jongdae put on his charm. He didn’t understand why, but he couldn’t help but feel like ripping her away from him so he could have her all to himself.

Chorong blushed, looking away a bit and retracting her hand. “You too,” she tried to turn her focus back to Joonmyun and he couldn’t help but see the hesitation in her eyes. “Look, Joonmyun … about tonight …”

He knew it. Those same feelings he had when he thought she wasn’t going to come were surfacing again. She was backing out. She didn’t come to go out with him; she came to reject him.

“You’re not cancelling on me, are you?” He walked towards her, making a pouty face. “I was really looking forward to us spending some time together. Please tell me you aren’t cancelling. I would be devastated.”

He could see the torn look on her face and knew that he was starting to get her. She only needed a little more push. Or, in this case, a guilt trip.

“Please say you’ll go. I wouldn’t want to go to this party without you. It would be no fun,” he smiled at her sweetly which earned him a chuckle from Jongdae. He knew exactly how Joonmyun was playing. And by the look on Chorong’s face, it was working. “Please say you’ll go, Chorong.”

She sighed, glancing back up at him. “It’s just for fun, okay?”

“Oh, of course,” he touched his hand to his chest, smiling. “Just friends.”

“Just friends,” she warned him with a smile.

“Then shall we go?” He held his hand out for her, but she turned it away and walked past him.

Joonmyun couldn’t help but stare at her as they walked down the hall. She was so gorgeous and he wished so much that the entire night could blur by and he could spend the night with her.

“To be honest with you, I’m still not too keen on going,” Chorong turned to face Joonmyun and leaned against the wall. “I’m not really a having out type of person.”

“Why type of person are you then?” Joonmyun leaned in a little close, much to Chorong’s discomfort. He was so focused on her that he could see her squirming just a little. He loved doing that to girls. HE loved watching that change in expression from being okay to being completely surprised by his actions. It usually turned out good for him, but he should have known Chorong would be a challenge. She opened to reply, but was saved by the bell. Or rather, the elevator doors opening.

Joonmyun stumbled a bit as Chorong moved away from her spot quickly and walked into the elevator. He couldn’t help but laugh as he regained his balance. He glanced in her direction, smirking. She's something else.

The elevator ride from their floor down to the lobby was filled with nothing by dead silence. He wasn’t sure why she wasn't saying anything, but he knew he was too consumed in staring  at her to say anything.

He noticed her eyes move from staring down at her feet to meeting his and he knew he was caught. “Why are you staring at me? It’s kind of creeping me out.”

“Oh, sorry,” Joonmyun couldn’t believe that he actually felt embarrassed. He had gotten so lost in her that he was ignorant of everything else around him. Why did she hold such an effect over him? “You’re just so beautiful.”

This time Chorong was the one blushing. She opened to speak, but sighed in relief when the elevator reached the lobby. She hurried out and began walking, Joonmyun tagging not too far behind.

“So, can I ask you something?” Joonmyun came up beside her, his head tilted slightly so he could see her face and a smile creeping slowly upon his face.

“I suppose so,” she tried her best to avoid his eyes. “What is it?”

“You said you weren’t sure about going out tonight. Were you really going to cancel on me?”

“In my defence, I never actually said I was going to come.”

Joonmyun couldn’t help but laugh. She was so defensive and he loved it. She would definitely be some fun tonight. He would make sure of that.

“So what made you change your mind?” He grinned as their eyes finally met. He couldn't help but feel his heart begin to beat fast just by the look she held. She was so ... serious. She looked like she was having an inner crisis as she tried to come up with someth
