Heads Up

Well, this is awkward.

Awkward probably didn't even cover the tension that was flowing through the room as the four of them stood there, nobody saying a thing.

Chorong, Joonmyun mused as a smile rose to his face. She was here. She was actually here. He had no idea why, nor was he really looking for a reason right at that moment, but he was thrilled.

Nobody could say the same about Chorong though as she held her hands at her sides, both of them balled into fists and ready to throw down if the idiot in front of her said anything that she didn't want to hear. Joonmyun knew he probably shouldn't open his mouth, he probably should have just turned around and left before something bad happened. But was he going to? Of course not.

"You look good, Chorong." He reached forward and took a strand of her hair in his hand, twirling it around as he continued to smile. "Though, if you ask me, you definitely look better without any clothes on."

"Back off, byuntae." She grabbed his wrist and squeezed it hard, her eyes beaming into him as if she was saying 'if-you-want-to-keep-your-hands-you-better-keep-them-to-yourself'. He rolled his eyes and dropped her hair, giving him his freedom once she let go of his wrist. "What the hell are you doing here, Joonmyun?"

"I could ask you the same thing, gorgeous."

"Wait, I don't get it. You two know each other?" Luhan popped in and put some distance between both Joonmyun and Chorong, a little afraid that if they were to get any closer she might rip his head off. He paused for a moment, as if he was thinking about something, and turned his face to his friend again. "Wait, Joonmyun ... This is Chorong?"

Joonmyun nodded and looked around Luhan to get a better look at the gorgeous girl he wanted more than anything. Even when she was angry she was still as beautiful as ever. The only thing wrong with this picture was the guy standing very closely behind her.

"Can someone please explain to me what is going on?" Jongsuk spoke up as he put his hands on Chorong's shoulders and tried to get her to calm down. He leaned down towards her ear and whispered, "Are you okay?"

She turned her full attention to him at this point, ignoring Joonmyun and exchanging a few quiet words with Jongsuk. Joonmyun wasn't exactly sure what they were talking about, but by the look Jongsuk gave Joonmyun once he looked back up, he could assume that she was filling him in on his 'wrong doings'. The smile he had slowly faded as he watched Jongsuk place his hand on Chorong's cheek, as if he was trying to calm her down and comfort her.

And then it hit him; what Luhan had said earlier before they got here.

"Wait, you two are dating?!" Joonmyun stared at them with huge eyes, trying to understand what was going on. There was no way. No way that they were together. Luhan had to be wrong ... right?

"What?" Both Chorong and Jongsuk looked up at him like he was insane.

"You two! You're sleeping together!" Joonmyun let out a huff and crossed his arm to mimic Chorong. "Oh, that's good. So you have a problem with sleeping with me, but you go sleep with a probable serial killer?!"

"Hey!" Jongsuk piped up, but was quickly interrupted by Chorong.

"You are completely out of your mind!" Chorong raised her voice and glared right at him. "You're overreacting! And even so, it's none of your damn business! So why don't you just leave? Don't you have some to sleep with or something?"

"Oh, like your sister?"

Now, Joonmyun had said some pretty stupid things in his life before. The first time, it was when he was seven and told his pre-school teacher that she dressed like a ; something he had heard his parents say before. The result? He was suspended for a few days and forced to take a class in manners.

The second time, he told a police officer, while wasted, that he would wash his car for him and then proceeded to pull his pants down and ... well, hopefully you get the idea. The result? It landed him behind bars for 24 hours for the second time that year.

And third? He called Chorong's sister, his new girlfriend, a .

The result? Well ...

Chorong jumped right at him and managed to catch him off guard as she pushed him to the floor. She pulled her arm back, ready to hit in, but was stopped when Jongsuk came from behind and pulled her off of him.

"You're such a bastard! I knew you didn't give a damn about my sister! You're a good for nothing and I hope you get what you deserve one of these days!" She tried her best to yank away from Jongsuk, her hands trying to fling at Joonmyun so that she could strangle him or beat the out him.

"Okay, okay. Time out." Luhan stepped between the two once again to give them even more distance. Chorong managed to free herself from Jongsuk's grasp and said something quietly to him before storming off into the back of the apartment.

"I'm gonna go check on dinner ..." Jongsuk pointed his thumb over his shoulder towards the kitchen before giving Joonmyun a glare and heading in that direction, leaving the two other boys alone.

"Wow, I really thought she was going to hit me again!" Joonmyun laughed as he propped himself up on his elbows. "I think she just wanted to get on top of me and put her hands all over my body. Don't you think?"

"Are you serious right now?" Luhan stared down at him like he was insane. "Joonmyun, you can't just say things like that. Especially considering you are dating the girl you just called a !"

Joonmyun groaned and fell back onto the floor. He had to admit, he definitely messed up with this one. Sure, he's called girls these kind of things to their faces. But he felt like this time it was different. He was dating Chorong's sister, said '' and Chorong could easily go to her sister and fill her in on it. And, in the end, ruining his plan to get closer to her and getting her to fall for him.

"Look, I was just caught off surprise by the two of them, okay? I wasn't thinking."

"That's the thing, Joonmyun! You never think!" Luhan seemed more upset than Joonmyun would have imagined. "I was looking forward to a really nice evening catching up with my friend and you're ruining it with yours and Chorong's drama!"

"Hyung ..."

"Can you please sideline this arguing and just please let me have this one night? No more drama, no more fighting. Can you please go apologise to her? For me?"

Joonmyun sighed and sat back up, his heart sinking. He knew what he said was wrong. He shouldn't have gone that far, no matter how ticked off he was. Luhan was one of his best friends and he didn't want to ruin his night. So, as hard as it would be for him, he would bury his pride and apologise.

He picked himself off the floor and poured himself a drink, knowing that he would definitely need one to deal with her at the moment, and poured a second cup as he headed towards the direction Chorong ran off to.

"Hey," Joonmyun popped his head around the corner and gave her a half smile. She glanced up at him, her knees pulled to her chest, but immediately turned away when she saw who it was standing there. "Can we talk?"

"Just leave me alone."

Joonmyun sighed and walked further into the room, pulling the door slightly closed with his foot. He walked towards her and extended his hand with a glass of wine towards her. "Peace offering."

"I don't drink."

"I won't tell if you won't." He couldn't help but smile, remembering the exact conversation when they went on their date. It seemed like so long ago, though in reality it was hardly even a month. A part of his wished that they could go back to that night. He could have changed things and ended this already.

But, then again, did he want that?

She refused to look at him as she took the glass from him and sipped it slowly. "What do you want, Joonmyun? If you haven't noticed, I'm not your biggest fan and I really don't want to hear you making more horrible remarks about my sister; your girlfriend."

He frowned and sat on the edge of the bed, turning his body so that he could face her. "Look, I know that I'm not your favourite person in the world right now. Or, ever, really. I've done some pretty rotten things to you and I admit I've made mistakes," he sighed and stared down at his own cup. "I didn't mean what I said back there. I was just a bit frustrated and I'm sorry."

"You really think saying sorry is going to make up for everything?"

"Of course I don't," Joonmyun shrugged. He couldn't actually believe that he was apologising. There's a first time for everything, right? He was just really glad that Jongdae wasn't here to give him hell for it. "I'm not expecting you to forgive me, okay? But can we press pause on this for tonight? Luhan is really happy to be back and I don't want to ruin the rest of his night fighting with you."

"I'm not the problem, Joonmyun. You are."

"Thanks for candy coating it," he mumbled.

"You called my sister a ."

"That's beside the point."

"You're not making this any easier on yourself, you know," she snapped.

"Chorong." Joonmyun stared her down, being completely serious for the first time. "Can we please just take a time out? After tonight I'll personally let you insult me anytime you want." He leaned in close, sticking his bottom lip out and giving her the puppy eyes, trying to use ageyo to get her to agree. He wasn't 100% sure, but he thought he might have even seen her crack a small smile.

His heart did a few flips as he stared at her. For the first time since everything went completely wrong, they were having an actual conversation. And it kind of felt good. She wasn't yelling or getting frustrated with him and he wasn't being a complete jerk. They were talking and a part of him really wanted to do this more often.

But, of course, he knew that wouldn't happen unless he could get her to trust him.

"Fine," she nodded and glanced over at him. "I'll do it for Jongsuk's friend, but just for tonight. Tomorrow we go back to the way things were."

The way things were.

Joonmyun wasn't sure why, but the thought of that made his heart sink a bit. He knew that deep down she hated him ... and that really bothered him. Of course he deserved it, even he could see that the things he's said and the things he's done obviously caused him to deserve it. But it didn't make him feel any less bad about it.

He thought back to his conversation with Jongdae before this new game started. Was what he was doing wrong? Was this game wrong? Chorong obviously wasn't interested in him and he wasn't sure if she ever would be, no matter what.

So was he wasting his time?

"Are you coming, 'chingu'?" She smirked as she stood by the door, bringing him back to the reality of the situation. And that was that she was actually going to give him a chance tonight. At least, she would pretend to. So maybe he could take that chance to show that maybe she didn't have to pretend after all.

Joonmyun couldn't help but smile as he pushed himself off the bed and walked out the door with her to rejoin their friends. And just in time too, because a loud crash came sounding from the kitchen, followed by Jongsuk yelling, "No!" The two of them gave each other a look as if to say 'what the hell' and hurried in the direction of the kitchen.
