This will work.

Joonmyun laid in bed, staring at the ceiling completely lost in thought. How did things end up here? He couldn't believe how far he had gone this time. But it's what he had to do, right? This was the only way he could weasel his way into her life.

But dating? That wasn't like him at all. He didn't date. At least, not anymore. Why was he taking such measures just to be around this girl? Especially for a girl that turned him down multiple times and was obviously not interested.

He glanced over at Nayoung who was sleeping soundly next to him and wondered how far this thing would have to go before Chorong would actually give in.

Is she even going to give in?

The thought of doing all of this for nothing stressed Joonmyun out. This game was supposed to be fun. He was supposed to get the girl, make her fall in love with him, and break her heart just like his was in the past.

This wasn't supposed to be complicated.

Joonmyun pulled himself from the bed as quietly as possible and grabbed his clothes, sneaking out of the room before Nayoung could wake up. He pulled his pants on and cradled his shirt in his hands, stumbling towards the front door. He paused outside of Chorong's room, staring at the door and wondering all of these different things.

Why was he so caught up in her? He had never met someone in his life that drove him crazy like she did. She was beautiful, yes, but that wasn't shocking to Joonmyun; all the girls he went after were. So why was this girl driving him insane? Why was he so set on getting her?

And why couldn't he answer his own damn questions?

He was just about to turn away when the door to her room opened and out walked Chorong in her pajamas. Her hair was flying in all different directions and she was dragging her feet behind her, obviously still half asleep.

Joonmyun couldn't help but smile just a but while staring at her. She actually looked quite cute for someone who had just woke up.

She stumbled her way into the room and ran right into his bare chest, not even paying attention to where she was going. And for a moment after she didn't pull away, Joonmyun was pretty sure that she had fallen asleep right against him.

He froze for a moment, not used to this specific girl being all close to him, but after a few moments he couldn't help but laugh softly. Now this was priceless. He carried her over to the sofa and gently laid her back down. He smiled as he grabbed a blanket that was draped over the couch and covered her.

"You're going to get me into trouble, you know that?"

He swiped a few stray hairs out of her face and tucked it behind her ear, sighing slightly. He couldn't help but wonder if what he was doing was wrong. There laid a perfectly normal girl and he was trying to screw up her life. Why? Why did he have to go after the one girl who was giving him a run for his money?

He wanted to forget her. He wished that they had never met thtat day when he caught her hat for her. If he had just gone on his way and let her handle it herself maybe things wouldn't have had to go this far.

Joonmyun just couldn't shake these feelings. He didn't want to be this guy anymore. He didn't want to be the guy that helped and was kind and considerate. He had been that guy before and in the end it just didn't work out.

So why couldn't he just let her go and go about his own summer how he wanted to? Why couldn't he just forget about the hat girl?

"Sleep well, Chorong-ah."

He stopped crouching next to the couch and finally headed back towards the door, leaving the hotel room, shutting the door behind him, and quickly moving over to his, typing his code in and pushing it open.

"Well," Joonmyun glanced up from the floor at the familiar voice, a little surprised, "it's about damn time you showed up!"

"Luhan hyung?"

The older boy chuckled and pushed himself off the couch, walking over and pulling Joonmyun into a hug. The two embraced for a bit before Luhan pulled away, his hands on Joonmyun's shoulders and a big smile on his face.

"It's been a while! It's good to see you, man!" Luhan's smile never left his face as he dropped his hands from his shoulders and pushed him. "How come you never texted me back? I've been waiting here since early this morning!"

"I had no idea you were coming. I lost my phone the other day and I just can't find it. I wish I knew you were coming," Joonmyun sighed, but couldn't help but smile. It was nice having his friend here, but he just didn't understand the reason for his visit. "I would have cleaned up around here."

" that. You know I don't give a damn about the mess." Luhan sprawled out on the couch, kicking his feet up and smirking.

"What are you doing here, hyung? Why are you here?"

"Not happy to see me or something, dongsengie?"

Joonmyun rolled his eyes. "Of course I am. I'm just surprised." He pushed Luhan's feet off the couch and sat in their place, glancing back over at him. “Really, why are you here?”

Luhan shuffled in his seat, his face changing from the happy-go-lucky boy to someone who was obviously troubled. Joonmyun wasn’t exactly sure why, but the look worried him and he wasn’t sure he wanted to hear.

“A couple reasons, really. Um, I dropped out of university. Decided not to go back when autumn comes. It’s not for me. I didn’t really want to go home and tell the folks so when I went to go find you to stay with, I heard you came here for the summer so I decided a little holiday could do me some good.”

“Wait you dropped out of school hyung?” Joonmyun shook his head. “You’re so smart, why would you do that?”

“Out of all the things I saw, that’s what you hear.” He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, not really wanting to talk about it. “Look, it just wasn’t for me. And anyways, you have no room to judge. You didn’t even go to university!”

“Whatever,” Joonmyun sighed, trying to get back to what they were talking about. “Now what’s the other reason you’re here?”

Luhan exhaled slightly, that same troubled look coming upon his face. “You don’t really want to hear about it.”

“Then why the hell would you bring it up? Just ing tell me so we can move on and actually do something.”

“Seohyun is engaged.”

The words that fell from Luhan’s lips were room silencing words. Joonmyun stared blankly ahead, not daring to meet Luhan’s eyes at this point. He couldn’t even think straight; all he could do was stare. He wasn’t exactly sure how he felt. He didn’t know how to react. He didn’t know anything anymore.

Seohyun was getting married. He couldn’t warp his mind around it and at this point, he didn’t want to think about it at all anymore.

“Really?” Luhan just nodded in reply and placed a hand on his friend’s shoulder. “Good for her …”

“Do you want to talk about it?”

“Of course not. Why should I care? That’s not me anymore. I’m not that person anymore. So it doesn’t matter.” Joonmyun pushed himself off the couch and walked around the room, picking up random things and trying to distract himself by cleaning.

“It does matter, Joonmyun-ah. You loved-“

“Hyung,” Joonmyun warned, turing to face him. “I don’t love anybody so leave it alone, got it?”

“Fine.” The older boy crossed his arms, giving up on trying to rationalise with his friend. He knew better than anyone
