Alice woke up quite early the next morning. She had an eight o'clock class she wanted to go to at the community college, so she got up at six to take a shower.
As the warm water hit her back and she was massaging her conditioner in her hair, Alice was thinking about the day before. The letters and visiting Mark was unforgettable. She still couldn't believe such a terrible thing happened to such a young guy like him, but it did. And those letters he was supposed to deliver were just as shocking. It made Alice confused. Who was the sender and why was he writing about a girl he liked named Jiah? It didn't have anything to do with Alice, so why was he writing to her?
Whatever it was, Alice wanted to know. And she thought about just ripping open each letter to get to the bottom of the whole thing. But those letters would have to wait, because Alice was running twenty minutes behind her planned schedule. The shower had been on too long and the water started turning cold. It was a sure sign that she was running late when Alice felt wrinkles in her fingers.
With a loud yelp, Alice was able to catch up to her planned schedule, despite almost tripping as she tried to get out of the porcelain tub.
The classroom was already filling up, and in fact, there were hardly any seats left. At community college, classes never reach up to more than 40 people per lecture, and this class had about 20 people attending, but the room was small and Alice was the last person to arrive.
The girl sighed with sadness at the filled classroom, everyone minding their own business and talking to each other, pretending that Alice didn't exist so they didn't have to give up their seat or help her find another one.
Just as Alice was about to leave, she heard her name and a familiar voice say it.
"Hey! Alice!" she turned around and saw Jinyoung, that coquettish boy she sat next to during lunch once who forcefully entered his phone number into her contact book. "Alice, sit here!" Jinyoung was smacking an empty desk beside him and Alice felt a wave of relief wash over her. She didn't like Jinyoung after their first meeting, but she appreciated him saving a seat like that. She willfully walked over and sat diligently in the seat after flattening her dress around her, but she scowled over at the boy next to her once she saw him looking at her behind. In turn, he moved his attention else where after getting caught. The lecture ended on a good note, and Alice's notes turned out clean, unlike how they normally are with erased words and smudged letters every where. Her mind was clear that day and she remembered most of the important things. "Did you like the lecture?" Jinyoung asked as Alice was packing up her pens and notebooks. She stopped what she was doing and looked over at him. "Oh, um. Yeah, it was good," she replied, not very enthusiastically. Jinyoung just nodded, noting her tone of voice. He didn't press on until Alice was just about to get up. "Wait!" he called after, standing up to catch up with the girl. Alice looked behi
