"Did you get him out of this country?" Jaebum asked the man over the phone.
"Yes, sir. It is taken care of," the man replied back.
"Good," Jaebum finished in a low tone, hanging up the call and slamming his phone on the table.
"It must kill to be a rich kid," Jinyoung joked, slapping Jaebum on the back. Jaebum just looked at him and frowned.      Im Jaebum was not only from an extremely rich family, but he was also the son of an organized crime leader. Jaebum wasn't all interested in the mafia or becoming the next head, but his father didn't mind. He wanted Jaebum to do what he wanted, and luckily for Jaebum he was able to live his life normally, just with some powerful people behind his back. So he was able to get rid of anybody with just a phone call to his father's employees. He didn't abuse that power, since he had common sense. And besides, if too many people disappeared, people would go looking for who took them away.       But yesterday, Jaebum made the order for Alice's assaulter who wasn't even a Korean citizen to be deported out of South Korea and back to his own land. He would have wished for something harsher, but he had already broken the guy's nose and right arm. There were much more wounds than just that after the four had left the guy to rot in the alley for Jaebum's father's men to find.       He couldn't forgive anyone who'd hurt Alice Yoo. The tears that he saw streaming down her face and the way her voice seemed to crack as she screamed someone's name just made an explosion set off in him. He would hear her crying as he beat up her assaulter, which caused him to not hold back in his strength. He couldn't forgive. He couldn't forget.       Jaebum scratched the back of his head and sat on his expensive couch which sat in his large room. He felt too anxious. He wondered whether to call Alice or not.       "You should check on Alice to see if she's okay," Youngjae announced, sitting next to Jaebum, who didn't say anything in reply. He was thinking about when Alice was yelling for help. She kept screaming for someone named Mark.  "Didn't you want her over for Christmas?" Youngjae added.       "Spend Christmas with her. She said Jackson would probably spend his with other friends and that she'd be alone. Call her and ask before tomorrow already." Jinyoung sighed. After a moment of silence as Jaebum was still thinking about something, Jinyoung let out an annoyed sigh, "I'll call her then," Jinyoung grabbed Jaebum's phone from the table and phoned Alice. Jaebum looked up to see what he was doing, but then looked back down again. Just who was Mark?       After three rings, a deep voice answered the phone.       "She's sleeping, Jaebum," Jackson deadpanned, answering instead of Alice.       "Oh. Well, can I call back when she wakes up?" Jinyoung asked, not expecting to hear Jackson on the other line. Before he could answer, a small struggle ensued over the phone. Jackson growled and a girl, most likely Alice, yelped, and the sound became smothered and crackly as the two were probably fighting for the phone. With a small thud that was audible to Jinyoung's ear, Alice's voice came to the call.       "Hello?" she asked, her voice small.       "Hi Alice, you're awake," Jinyoung chuckled.       "Oh, Jinyoung. Yeah, I'm awake," she answered, her voice quite low.       "Um, yeah," silence ensued since Jinyoung didn't know what to say, "I'm going to let Jaebum on the phone. He has something to ask. And I hope you're doing okay Alice. I really do," he said, his words sincere.       "Okay. And thank you. I'm okay," her words were rather plain. She was probably tired if she had been sleeping like Jackson said.       Jinyoung gave Jaebum the phone and he tried to smile and sound cheerful, "Hello."      "Hi Jaebum," Alice had a sad tone.       "Are you doing alright?" he asked, referring to what happened the night before.      "I'm alright. Jackson has been nice to me so I'm okay," she replied, "Merry Christmas, by the way."      Jaebum smiled. It was Christmas Eve that day. "Yes, Merry Christmas to you, too," he chuckled.       "Why did you call? Is something wrong?" Alice asked.      Jaebum straightened his back, "Uh, no. I just-- I wanted to know if you're alone on Thursday."      "On Christmas Day?" Alice thought a bit. She wondered if Jackson wanted to go out or stay home, "Yeah, I think so," she hesitantly replied.      Her vague answer made Jaebum smile a bit, "Well, if you're sure, I was wondering if you wanted to spend Christmas Day with me at my house with Jinyoung, Youngjae, and Yugyeom. My parents and some other friends are having a party, but we can do something ourselves," he waited for her reply with shaking hands.      With a small sliver of nervousness that ran down her back, Alice thought about his words. She usually spent C

Chapter 17: This story has been on my subscription lists for the longest time and I can't believe that I didn't read this earlier. The story progressed well and the way how the characters all knew each other from connections were amusing. I wanted to read a story with Mark last night cause the feels got me and this story was perfect. Even though Mark wasn't there the whole time, it still felt like he was there through the way you explained his story with Alice or should I say Jiah. Overall this story is great and I would recommend it to anyone even if your bias isn't Mark.
