CHAPTER 8

"I'm done with the plants at the rooftop..." she said without looking at one of the members of the Gardening Club. He was a senior, and he was in charged of the attendance and the distribution of their work.

"Okay, great. Thanks for your hard work, Yumi..." he said before writing something on his notebook, Yumi also remembered her small notebook and checked her pocket for it.

"If you have something to do then you can go now..."

"Thanks, senpai..." Yumi answered before bowing low and leaving the room. And as soon as she got out of the Gardening Club's room, she immediately checked her pockets for the notebook again.

Where's is it? I'm sure it was here... she thought. She was looking for her small notebook that she had been using as an organizer and somewhat like her diary too.

"Ah!" she exclaimed before running back to the rooftop.

That notebook was more than important to her. It was something that was with her since when she was still the old naive girl that was fragile and vulnerable, until now that she learned how difficult life and living could be. When she lost almost everything and when the people whom she trusted most left her, that notebook was the only witness of her soft cries. She wrote everything there... It had her memories. It had Lee Yumi in there.

When she reached the rooftop, she began looking for her diary. She kept on trying to find it but with no avail. When she was about to leave, she saw the cat that she fed earlier. It looked at her and purred. Then it walked towards her, wanting to be pet.

"I've lost my notebook..." she told the cat as if it understood her. And Yumi could feel her eyes watering.

I need to let go of the things that isn't destined for me. She remembered writing this in her notebook before. She wrote that when Park Shin Woo, her ex-boyfriend, left her for her bestfriend.

"Maybe it's time to let go of those memories, too..." she voiced low, tears now staining her face.

Yumi was still lost and depressed when she heard someone enter the rooftop running. She can still hear that person panting when her name was called.

"YUMI...!" it was Hiragawa Makino.

Yumi stood up from where she was kneeling and she let go of the cat. Makino looked at her with worry.

"YOUR... YOUR BROTHER...!"

With just that, Yumi ran as fast as she can, and headed directly towards the gym.

"AAAAAHHHH~! DAMN IT!" Yuki was yelling in pain. He was holding his ankle as if it was going to break apart.

"Yuki! Sh**~! WHERE'S THE DAMN STRETCHER!" it was Yuuki who was calling to the medical team. He was beside Yuki who was lying on the ground of the gymnasium.

Yuuki arrived at the gym where the basketball club was doing their tryouts. He still saw Yuki playing, the guy even smiled and waved when he came in. And what happened was so fast that Yuuki wasn't able to react.

He saw Yuki heading for the ring, ready to shoot then. And when he jumped to make a dunk, someone from the other team jumped out to defend his post. This made them collide with a strong impact, making Yuki fall down with a hard thud. At first they thought that nothing was wrong until Yuki shouted and held his ankle in agony.

"GEEZ! WHERE IS THE F**KING STRETCHER?! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?!" He was losing his cool, it was so damn frustrating how slow the medical team was. Yuki was already crying in pain but the stretcher was still not there. And not even the nurse or doctor was present.

"WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG?! HE'S IN--"

"YUKI~!!!" Yuuki looked behind him to see Yuki's twin sister panting. She looked really worried and her face was all red.

"What happened?!" she was almost crying when she asked, and immediately she went to her brother and held his hands. She was now close beside Yuuki, but she haven't even realized that yet.

"What happened?" she repeated, looking at Yuki who was still whining in pain. And when she didn't get any response, she stared at the person beside her... which was Midorikawa Yuuki.

Yuuki saw her eyes get bigger, as if she just realized that she was so close to him. She stared at her brother again and when she looked back at Yuuki, what was left in her face was concern and worry,

"What happened to him?"

"I--"

"The stretcher's here!" called one from the medical team, they then moved in to assist Yuki into it and brought him to be examined by the doctor.

Before following Yuki, Yumi stopped and looked at Yuuki with eyes full of anger and annoyance,

"This is all your fault... If it weren't for you, this wouldn't have happened." she said and followed the medical team quickly, leaving Yuuki dumbfounded.

"It was an accident!" Ugh. This girl! he thought before following in, too.

Yuuki's POV:

"It's just a sprain. It'll heal in no time, just make sure that you won't put too much pressure on your foot while walking, okay?" the school doctor told Yuki.
