Fast Forward
Chasing HurricanesSeconds slowly faded into minutes, hours, days, months and finally years. He was gone.
Gone for good and she would never see him again. After the years passed she had no other choice but to accept it.
She would never see her best friend again.
“Hey Ryu, you haven’t said a word since we got back. You alright?” A male voice questioned the girl before him. Popping the gum she had been chewing for a while she smirked back at him.
“You’re getting soft GD. Course I’m alright. Why wouldn’t I be? We just successfully robbed that little store back there. More cash for us.” The boy grinned at her and nodded.
“All thanks to you of course, Ryu. What would we do without such a great leader?” Another smiled as he came up behind the girl, throwing his arm (and his weight) around her shoulder.
“Yah! Taeyang! You’re too heavy for me to support you! Get off!” She whined with a smile, but the boy refused.
“Hey! You heard the girl, get off!” A female voice stated in annoyance. The boy sighed but ultimately did as he was told.
“Yeah yeah. Calm down Chaelin. We’re just having a little fun. Why, are you jealous or something?” Taeyang smirked making the rest of the crew either grin or shake their heads at him. He fell back a little to meet the other girl of the group and smiled.
“My name is CL. Get that through your thick skull already.” She stated, poking his head a few times as if to emphasise her point. He smiled before backing off again.
“You guys have issues. All of you.” Ryu grinned as she shook her head at the crew. Glancing back at them she found grins on their faces.
“Yeah, but we’re your issues.” the last male voice grinned brightly. Turning around she started to walk backwards, keeping an eye on her crew.
“Yeah, that’s true too Daesung. How bout we hit up another store? The more money the better, right?” She smirked as she turned back around. Her crew nodded in agreement as they tied their bandannas around their mouth’s, covering the bottom half of their faces. The crew wore snapbacks and shades while Ryu pulled the hood of her jacket over her head, fixing her own shades.
She grinned brightly as she reached into her pocket, gripping the semi-automatic pistol tightly as excitement overcame her.
“Let’s head out then.”
At the same time halfway across the world someone was just as excited as the younger girl...but for different reasons.
“Ah, please be safe when you travel back and tell your grandmother we said hello, okay Seunghyun?” A woman questioned him as she hugged his neck tightly. He smiled and nodded into her.
“Ne, umma. I’ll tell her as soon as I arrive. It’s been too long since I’ve been back home.” His mother nodded in agreement. Her eyes lit up as a thought came to her.
“Maybe you’ll see that girl again too...Uhm….what was he name again?” She questioned, making the boy look down at the ground instead of her.
“Hei Ryung. Riri” He smiled a little as he remembered the time they spent together as little kids.
“Tabi!!”
“I doubt she’ll even remember me. It’s been 18 years now since I’ve seen her.” He mumbled every word. He hasn’t given it much thought until now. He never realized just how much he really missed her. A small part of him wanted to see her again, talk, and just have fun again like they used to while the other part of him knew. Knew she wouldn’t forgive him. Not even if she had all the time in the world to think about it.
His mother placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled sweetly at him.
“I’m sorry baby. It’s all my fault isn’t it? She was your best friend and you were practically a big brother to her. I’m really sorry I took you away from such a happy place.” He quickly shook his head at her.
“Ani. It’s not your fault mom. We had to move. Dad got a better job here and we would have a better life because of that. I understand that now. You did what you thought would be the best for us.” His mother smiled at him and nodded.
The speakers could be heard roaming through the airport, announcing his flight would be leaving within the next ten minutes. Looking down at the older woman he smiled.
“Go, and have fun. Tell Seungri I said hello too. You are still friends with him, correct?” She questioned, a puzzled look on her face. Top nodded at her and hugged her once more.
“I’ll call you once I arrive.” He stated before releasing his mother. She nodded up at him.
“Bye mom. I love you.”
“I love you too.” She grinned. Top grabbed his bags and started toward his gate, waving her until she was out of sight.
Sitting on the plane his mind started to wander.
“I wonder how grandma is doing...I hope Seungri still remembers me….He did say he’d meet me at the airport….”
He stopped for a moment
“Riri...how are you doing nowadays? Will I run into you while I’m there? Will you remember me?...Will you forgive me?......I hope you’re doing okay….I hope you didn’t get into too much trouble while I was gone….I’m sorry for leaving but...I am coming back now so, please be there? ….Riri…..”
