Jongin stood silently at the school gates, book at hand and earphones on. He's well aware that almost all of the girls that passes by are giving him too 

much attention but when he have a book open, everything else just turns into a far off reality.

"You're Jongin, aren't you?" He heard someone asked or rather shouted cause he heard him through his earphones. When he lowered his book from his 

face, he saw a face he barely knows. The guy was shorter than him but a bit taller than Kyungsoo, with really prominent cheekbones and a mischievous 

grin on his face.

"Yes. Yes I am." He removed his earphones and closed his book.

"I just wanted to say hi. I'm Jongdae, Kyungsoo's friend." 

When Jongdae introduced himself, Jongin vaguely remembered the friend that was with Kyungsoo when he went to fetch him for lunch earlier. His 

expression must have showed on his face because Jongdae laughed a bit and said, "Yes. I'm that guy from earlier."

"Anyway, Soo is going to take a little while longer. Committee stuff."

"Thank you. It's alright, I'll wait for him." He replied.

They chatted for a while before Jongdae went home ahead and he was left reading his book again.

It was the first time he experienced waiting for someone by the school gates. The girls he'd gone out with never made him wait like this, instead they are 

the ones fetching him from his room insisting that they go home together. He didn't feel bored though, even after standing there for almost an hour, given 

that with a book he was pretty much occupied but the idea of going home with Kyungsoo is what kept him there.

He finished reading but the short charming boy he's waiting for, is still nowhere to be seen. He put the book back in his bag and leaned to one of the stone 

pillars of the gate.

He'd experienced a lot of firsts today. It was his first time fetching someone for lunch, first time waiting for someone at the school gates and most of all first 

time ever asking anyone out himself plus his first time dating a guy.
