Paradise

A/N: From now on, Woohyun's POV from when he met Sunggyu to the bathroom scene.

His name was Nam Woohyun. He was 21 years old, he was single and he lived alone. There was nothing special about him. He wasn't a brain but he wasn't dumb either. He just liked to sing and write his own songs, even thought he never showed them to the public. He was sure people wouldn't like them, even thought he was so proud of it. He always imagined himself to be alone and work on a coffee shop or even in a bar. He even thought that he would get a job on a Karaoke bar since he just wanted to work on a place with music around him. He just never imagined he would end up with his aunt's building and would be those people landlord. At first he hated the idea. He swore he would cell the thing to the first person that appeared in front of him, but when his aunt told him about the money and that he would have a total sound proof room, unlike the other people on the building, where he could sing as loud as he could, he moved on the day she left, not waiting at all.

He remembered being a child and spending his days on that neighborhood. He made lots of friends there, and he still did. People were nice and cared about him. He was happy that he could live in a place were honest with him and that they made him feel so welcome. When he moved to the building, he was expecting the people there to wonder who he was, but instead, they already knew who he was and some even said they were happy his aunt had left and that it was him instead of her. Not many people liked his aunt, and he knew very well why. She was a woman with a very nice amount of money, and she made the rent of that place really hard for some people to pay, just so she could have more money on her account and so she could buy expensive things for her and for her toy-boys. She was 50, and those guys were his age. It was so weird. He knew she actually cared for them, but they didn't liked her at all.

Every time they were together, she would treat him like a prince. She would give him anything he wanted and would shower him with compliments, saying how good looking he was, how talented he was and that he was wasting his talent on those lousy jobs. One of the reasons she gave him the landlord position was that she wanted him to stop working and actually work on his music. He couldn't even say how thankful he was. She helped his father raise him. His mother was god knows where. He never asked, but he knew she had left his father alone with him. He never asked about her and on mother's day he would pretend his aunt was his aunt. After all, mother was the person who cared and loved, not the one who gave birth to him.

He had a very good, maybe excellent childhood and he really couldn't complain about his love life. Girls were always after him and they would do pretty much what he wanted. And he had his good amount of ex-girlfriends, but honestly speaking, he never felt in love, really in love, with any of them. He liked them, sure. If he didn't, he wouldn't date them at all. They were pretty girls, and that was one of the reasons he liked them. But that was all they were. Pretty. They weren't interesting, they weren't that smart and they weren't that special. Some were just plain normal without the make-up they always wore. He could be a guy, but he was a very sensitive guy. He knew it better than anyone else. He wanted someone who loved him more than anything, he wanted someone who wanted to be with him, someone who didn't really cared if he was handsome or not. Someone who liked his personality. That wasn't too much to ask for, at least he thought so. Usually girls he dated just wanted to be with him because he was attractive and he was, as they said, incredibly hot.

But what were looks when people were the futile? He would rather give up his looks and have someone who actually loved him to be with someone who didn't liked him for who he was but for what he was. He didn't cared about how a person looked. He honestly didn't. For all he cared, the person could be fat and short. If he loved that person and if that person loved him back, why would he care about what people around him thought? Their opinion wasn't important. The only opinions that mattered were his father and aunt. And maybe one or two friends. No one else. “That's not too much to ask for...” He whispered to himself.

He just didn't want to end up like his father. No matter how much he loved his dad, he knew that his old man, like he liked to call, was a lonely man since his wife left him. He wanted to have someone with him that no matter what happened that no matter what he said, he would have someone next to him and love him. Someone that wouldn't give up on him, someone that wouldn't just leave when he most needed. And honestly speaking, he didn't cared if it was a woman or a man. He just wanted to love and be loved. That wasn't wrong, was it? Be cause he was starting to think it. He was starting to think that it was a wrong thing to think like that or want it.

He was on his way to greet the last neighbor. His aunt told him to introduce himself to everyone and say who he was. She said there was a guy about his age, but he worked at night in a Karaoke bar and he would hardly get out. Maybe they could be friends! It would be so nice if he had a friend of the same age. They could hang out, and they could talk about what they wanted in the future. And maybe, just a big maybe, they could become really close! That would be so wonderful. That would be something he would love to happen. He liked to meet knew people, he liked to make new friends. He liked it a lot.

He ringed the bell and waited. Nothing. He rang again, this time his finger pressing the bell a little harder. He didn't liked to wait at all. It was one of his many flaws. When he was getting to ring it a third time the door opened and he flashed a smile. He couldn't wait to see how this person looked. But as he waited, he didn't saw anyone. “....Kim...Sunggyu?” he asked thinking the door opened alone. He knew the name because his aunt had left him a list of everyone who lived there, but he had no idea who those people actually were. For all he knew, Kim Sunggyu was an old man, or even a girl. Yes a girl. It could be a man's name, but he still remembers having a friend who was a girl but for some reason her parents gave her a guy's name. As soon she turned 18, she changed her name to something he couldn't remember. A small shadow appeared and he saw a pair of eyes. A pair of beautiful eyes. He couldn't help but be a little freaked out.

This looked like a scene from a horror movie! “You're Kim Sunggyu aren't you?” he asked and the frame nodded. He could see that it was clearly a man. “I have a cold...so excuse me for not showing my face...” That explained a lot. That explained why the man wasn't showing himself and that made him relax a little. He was scared that he had a hunted house on the building. How would he explain that to someone who wanted to rent it? “I'm your knew landlord...I just wanted to introduce myself.” he started still smiling. Just because he was scared, it didn't meant he wouldn't smile. He believed that a smile could always make people happier. “What...what happened to...” That voice sounded so weak...so frail. Maybe it was his imagination, maybe he was thinking too much, but honestly, this man didn't looked sick...from what he could see. He looked...unprotected, lonely.

“My aunt? She decided to leave for some exotic country with her new boyfriend and left this building to me. It's not what I imaged doing at 21, but then again, it's a good way to win money and still do whatever I want. And I bet that she'll dump her boy-toy as soon she sees a new one and-” Woohyun continued talking. He didn't know why but every time he met someone knew, he liked to talk and say everything to everyone.

If he wasn't careful, he would even say the number of his bank account. He continued talking, but couldn't help but think about how this man looked like he needed protection. And he couldn't believe he was thinking something like that when they didn't even talked for 2minutes and when he was the one doing all the talking. And he wasn't pointing out the fact he couldn't see how the man in front of him looked. “Hey, why is your house so dark? Light would do you good! And how can you see yourself in the mirror with this darkness? You know, my house is full of mirrors because..” He was sure this man wasn't listening to any word he was saying. He was sure the man was about to throw up or faint. He knew he should ignore and shouldn't worry about but...those eyes. Those sad, hopeless eyes were staring at him in a way that they were almost begging him for help and attention.

“My aunt told me you were about my age, maybe just a little older. That's awesome! I mean, the other people here are old couples or middle age men so it's no fun and we” this wasn't what he wanted to talk about, far from it, but he just continued talking, not even knowing what he was really saying. “Excuse me...I'm not feeling well..” Apart from the lie about the cold, Woohyun could see Kim Sunggyu wasn't making this up. It was true, and it was more than visible. He didn't wanted to leave, he really didn't, and he didn't know why. “Oh right, your cold!” He saw Kim Sunggyu closing his eyes like he was about to fall at any second. He could see a little bit of the man's face and he couldn't help but notice how pale and skinny this man was. How was it even possible? “Anyways, just wanted to tell you who I am and that if you need something or if you want to complain about the neighbors, I know how annoying these people are, just call me! The number is the same as my aunt's!”

He wasn't sure the man was listening to him. Not at all. And Woohyun for some reason didn't minded, which was something to question, because he hated when people ignored him, he would usually tell that person to go to a certain place and would never talk to him ever again. He knew he had to go, but even so, he stood there and continued talking. “My name is Nam Woohyun. Maybe one day we could hang out?” he asked hopefully. Maybe he would get a positive answer, maybe he would hear when he wanted, and he didn't know why he even wanted it. “Bye.”

He couldn't say he was shocked. Not at all. He was surprised Kim Sunggyu hadn't closed the door at his face before. He pressed his ear against the door and he heard the man fall on the floor. He was starting to get worried, maybe even more. What if the man passed out? What if was he feeling bad and was now he collapsed? Woohyun was thinking about the worst things possible, but then he heard the other man breath and whisper something. He knew how thin those walls were, but he just didn't knew that they were that thin! Or maybe he had a great hearing. He stepped away from the door and he felt his heart drop. He didn't want to leave. He wanted to open that door and hold that man and tell him he would protect him. But protect him from what? From who? Why in the world was he worrying about this person? “It was nice to meet you Kim Sunggyu!” He walked away slowly....he just continued looking to the door. What was wrong with him?
