These thoughts ran through my head. These were my honest thoughts at that time, but thinking about this again, I feel that something about this is lacking which I can’t put my finger on it…

Yes, but I--- I gasped and put a hand over my mouth. I could feel Jessica’s gaze bore on me, not that I mind but is that really the sole reason why I kissed her that night?

“Yah, whatcha thinking about?”

I looked at Jessica, “N-nothing…” she sighed and closed the book she was reading, “Your nothing means something. Tell me”

I faced Jessica fully and bit my lip, “Come ‘on, it’s okay to tell me. We’ve shared embarrassing secrets before; I think this one you’re keeping doesn’t make any difference”

I let out a sigh, “Jessi… When you… When you kissed me, what’s the reason behind it?”

Silence. It was a good five minute silence when she decided to speak again

“I told you it’s my hormones…” I shook my head, “No… Well, how about I ask you this… If we aren’t best friends at all and then you kissed me, what could be your reason for that action?”

Jessica’s lips disappeared into a thin line, “Then that just means I like you. It’s some kind of bold confession”

Bold confession…  I smiled at her slightly, “Thanks”

“Sure thing Tiff… But why ask? Do you perhaps…” I raised a brow, “Do I what?”

She sighed deeply, “Like someone at the current time?” I could sense Jessica was feeling uneasy about the question, like it bothered her a lot but I decided to ignore it and smiled at her

“None… I haven’t met anyone at the current time and even if I did, you’re the first person to know”

She smiled and leaned her back at the couch, “Hmm, that’s good to know” Well that’s sounded happy… I wonder what she’s thinking…

“Hey Jess” She looked at me again, “Yeah?”

“How about you? Are you currently dating anyone?”

“NO!” I widened my eyes at her, “Chill, I was just joking…”

“I-I mean… No, I’m not dating anybody at the current time…” I nodded gingerly at her

“Okay… So Imma take a nap Jess… See you later”

“You’re not planning to go to school today?” I shook my head, “Nope… Too lazy to go”

“Psh… Anyhow, have a good sleep” I nodded back at her and went straight to my room
