Sunday
Thursday Nights“He basically made a promise that you didn’t even agree to,” Bomi said as she wiped the counter.
Sunday had just begun and Soo Yun was still shocked at how fast things had gone. In a day, Jaejoong had hired a group of people to move her stuff out of their house to her new one. The first night she spent in her home, she felt so uncomfortable and couldn’t sleep. Sure, before she had been alone all those nights Jaejoong were gone, but she had known in her heart that he was going to come back. But now, he won’t be back and she was truly alone. She had wanted this divorce, so why did she felt the most hurt by it?
Soo Yun didn’t want to admit to Bomi about it, but secretly, she had anticipated Jaejoong’s promise. That Friday, he had taken her heart on a roller coaster, bringing it all the way up and then dropping it to its depth and back up again. His promise had made her heart beat out of its rhythm, and she felt excited. She didn’t want to act like she was waiting for him and had put on a bold front for Bomi to see, because she knew how her dear friend would think. Bomi would assume that she was weak with this divorce and were having second thoughts for she needed to depend on Jaejoong. But she was wrong, Soo Yun was mentally prepared for this divorce and willing to come out stronger than she was before, it was on the inside that betrayed her. Her heart was the enemy of her mind.
“Here,” Bomi said and waved a key in Soo Yun’s face.
“What’s this for?” she asked, but took the keys anyway.
“I’m giving the shop back to you,” Bomi said and Soo Yun looked up in shock. “I thought you would like to be back on your own feet again and have some distractions.”
It was true that she needed a distraction these days, but she hadn’t thought it was to run her old shop again. Soo Yun had opened this coffee shop when she officially became a barista, Bomi then, was hired to be the main baker for the shop. Soo Yun was at the prime of her life then, content with everything she had. It was then that she even met Jaejoong, and when she married him, she had left the shop to Bomi’s hands. And it was obvious that when she had a hard time, she’ll always come back and sometimes even give Bomi some pointers. She had left the shop completely that it felt weird calling it hers again.
