‘Let’s have a baby’ That line has been on repeat in Jinki’s mind for the past three days. A child. Taemin wants a child. Jinki is stunned. He knows of Taemin’s undying affection for children but bringing a child into the picture now is not what Jinki has in mind. He’s almost struggling to support the household just as it is now with Taemin being unemployed at the moment. Plus he’s conflicted, very conflicted about his strong feelings for Kibum and his love for Taemin in addition to loving a child. Jinki thinks it’s too much.

But now as he watches, Taemin’s pale skin is glowing, how his smile seems a bit wider and how much his eyes glisten in the sunlight filtering through the windows. Since they’ve been married, it’s like he realizes that Taemin is beautiful.

“Am I that gorgeous?” Taemin’s voice infiltrates his thoughts. Jinki blinks and chortles. He gets up, walks and snakes his arms around Taemin’s waist from behind. Taemin giggles and leans into his husband’s chest.

“Yeah, you are.” Jinki’s breath tickles Taemin’s earlobe. Taemin rinses the last plate and places it in the dish drainer. Taemin holds Jinki’s hands, kisses them and places them on his stomach. Jinki finds this weird.

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah.” Taemin beams and turns around so he can face Jinki properly. “Just glad that you’re here…” he tangles his fingers with Jinki’s “…with me” he looks at his partner “..now.” He tips upwards and kisses Jinki softly. It’s a Saturday so Jinki is free and Taemin wants to take advantage of that. Their kissing session soon evolves into a heated, passion-filled moment that ends with Jinki hovering over Taemin’s sweat-slicked body in their bed.

“You’re so pretty.” Jinki leans down and captures Taemin’s lips once more. Taemin revels in this form of affection by wrapping his arms behind Jinki’s neck and pulling the other closer before leaving to take a shower. As Jinki sits and waits for Taemin to finish his shower, he receives a text.

Fr:Kibum

Baby! I found out that “Faith” is showing at the cinema next Sunday. Come with me?

Jinki’s heart flutters like the wings of a butterfly as his fingers are busy texting away.

To: Kibum

I’d love to. ;)

He hears the shower curtain being drawn and he gets up. Momentarily he receives another text.

Fr: Kibum

Let’s go out today. I miss you so much already.

Jinki stops but quickly replies.

To: Kibum

I’m sorry I can’t , boo. Family issues came up. I have to go now. Can wait to see you soon.

He quickly throws his phone to the side when Taemin emerges from the bathroom. Taemin notices Jinki’s gawking and laughs at him. Jinki does the same and enters the shower. Presently, as Taemin is getting dressed,  Jinki’s phone buzzes.

Fr: Sensei Sasuke

Sorry to hear about that. I hope your family is ok. I can’t eait to see you too.

Jinki has hurriedly changed Kibum’s contact name to Sensei Sasuke and deleted his previous messages. Taemin frowns a bit. In the end he puts the phone down and surmises that it’s just a concerned friend. Jinki would never cheat on him. Never. But he is bothered. He steps in front of the full length mirror, lifts his shirt up and gets a side view of his stomach. It’s still flat but he senses something different about himself already. He touches it carefully with the pad of his fingers and then hugs himself.

“I don’t know…but..if you’re in there little one.” He laughs out loud at his out ridiculousness “…I can’t wait to hold you in my arms.”
