Kibum doesn’t answer his calls. Kibum doesn’t reply to his texts. Kibum didn’t turn up for work yesterday. Jinki’s worried. He hopes that Kibum hasn’t done anything detrimental to himself. It’s 5:30pm. He knows that Taemin is at home resting but that thought doesn’t settle his mind. His vision is blurry, his mind foggy and he can’t concentrate on the paper work before him. Before another minute elapses, Jinki gathers his things in a hurry and rushes out in search of Kibum.

“What are you doing here?” His eyes are swollen and red and his face puffy, Jinki surmises from incessant crying.

“I’m sorry-”

“I don’t want to hear it. Please leave.” Key interrupts, is voice adamant.

“Kibum, I’m sorry. I truly am.” Jinki pleads, on the verge of crying.

“Leave.” Key commands in a no-nonsense tone as he begins to close the door but Jinki puts his hand against it and prevents him from doing so.

“Kibum.” Jinki breathes. “Just hear me out.”

“Why?” He cries. “Why-why do you even want to make this work anymore? It’s not like I have a future with you. Don’t you think I’ve suffered and that I’ve been embarrassed enough?

Kibum’s face is red and messy with his tears while Jinki is standing still.

After what seems like forerver Kibum asks “Why are you still here?”

“I can’t give up.” Jinki steps forward and pulls Kibum in for a kiss. The other’s initial reaction is to push Jinki away, but Jinki holds onto him even tighter and Kibum relaxes into the kiss, because…because.. he loves him. Jinki pulls away to whisper. “I can’t give you up so easily. I love you.” He resumes the kiss and closes the front door with a click before advancing further into the apartment, towards Kibum’s bedroom.

Jinki goes home extremely late that day after working had to regain a little of Kibum’s trust. Just a little. However, when he arrives home, he doesn’t find a sleeping Taemin in bed but a fuming one.

“Why are you so late?”

Jinki dismisses him by saying that he’s very tired and he wants to sleep but Taemin is persistent.

“Where have you been , Jinki?” Taemin’s voice is stern. “I called work and they said you left shortly after 2pm and now it’s 11:47pm.” He points at his watch angrily.

“Taemin.” Jinki sighs while in the process of removing his tie. “I can’t deal with this right now, it’s late-”

“Don’t you dare!” He shouts which frightens the other. “Don’t you dare say that you cannot deal with this! It’s not just about you avoiding me, or being distant, withholding things from me but this concerns my safety , yours and our unborn child’s.” Taemin snaps in one breath, body trembling and chest heaving.

Time stops and Jinki freezes. He can’t believe his ears. He turns to face Taemin who is silently crying and face flushed with anger. The air is suddenly still and awkward. Jinki blinks in order to digest Taemin’s words.

“Our unborn-”. “Yes, Jinki” Taemin interrupts. “I’m pregnant.” It’s been four months already. I’ve wanted to tell you but I was too scared about how you’ll react  and-and” Taemin breaks down and Jinki pulls him in for a hug.

“You’ve been so distant lately. We hardly talk about anything anymore. I feel neglected, Jinki.” He cries into Jinki’s shoulder. “I feel like our marriage is falling apart. I don’t want that.” Jinki remains silent. “I want us to work, Jinki.”

“Me too.” Jinki agrees. Taemin pulls away and looks him in the eyes. “So come home earlier, let’s spend more time together, let’s work on this. I can try to apply for a job again. I’ll do anything.”

“Taemin that won’t be necessary. You wouldn’t want to become even more stressed.” He drops his gaze to the other’s tummy and places his palm against it.

“I can’t believe you’re pregnant.” He says unsurely. He feels around the rounded area a bit more and laughs to himself. “I can’t believe it.” He laughs and Taemin laughs too. “I’m going to be a father.” He whispers to himself.

“Yes you are.” Taemin says happily  and tips on his toes to kiss him.

 “I’m so happy now.”

Jinki and Taemin are lying in bed.

“Huh?”

“I told some other people the good news already because I was so excited.” Taemin explained. “Minho and Key knew because-”

“What?” Jinki jumps up, shocked.

“What Jinki?” Is something wrong?”

“No- I.. Key knew?”

“Yeah everyone at Yoga knows. They’re very perceptive.” He admits. Jinki feels like the world is crashing down on him. Kibum knows.

“But Kibum just found out that you’re my husband the other day. What a coincidence!” Taemin chuckles.

“Let’s go to bed now.” Taemin suggests.

“Oh.”

Jinki doesn’t sleep.
