He nodded “I have something to tell you”

“Mmm?”

He looked down and looked at me “I have this feeling when we we’re still in 4^th grade. I kept on asking my appa if what is this

and he kept on telling me that it is love. But he never believed me because I’m too young to feel this. And I thought to myself in love,

there’s no age limit. If you feel this feeling called love, then you’re in love. My appa gave me a friendship bracelet before he died.

He said that I’ll give it to  the one I love. And I gave the friendship bracelet to you. I love you when we were still in 4^th grade”

My eyes went huge when he said those words

“I’m not forcing you to love me. If you don’t have feelings for me, I’ll accept that”

I hugged him tightly “Lee Donghae” I mumbled

I let go of him and I heard that the crowning of the Mister and Miss Prom is going to start

“Lee Donghae…”

I sighed “I like you as a friend but I don’t know where this feeling will go through after you confessed to me”

He nodded and looked down

“But, gomawo for loving me”

He looked at me and smiled. We decided to go inside the building

“Okay. We will now be crowning our Mister and Mister 2011. We’ll start first with the Mister Prom 2011. The Mister Prom is…”

*drum roll*

The host opened the envelope and sighed “Lee Donghae!”

The students were clapping and cheering for Donghae

I looked at Donghae with a smile “Congratulations”

He smiled at me and went to the stage. The host put a crown on his head and put sash in his body. Students were clapping after

they put a crown and a sash. He bowed down in front of the student

“Gomawo for choosing me as the Mister Prom 2011” he smiled at them and looked at me

I looked at him and gave him a smile

“Okay. Next is the Miss Prom 2011. The Miss Prom 2011 is…” *drum roll*

The host opened the envelope and sighed “Jessica Jung!”

The students clapped and were cheering for her. Jessica awkwardly went to the stage. The host  put a crown on her head and

put a sash in her body. Jessica bowed down in front of the students and got the microphone.

“Gomawo for choosing me as the Miss Prom 2011 these days, I’ve been wondering if who will be the Miss Prom 2011 and I didn’t

expect that I will be the Miss Prom 2011. I have this friend, she’s the one who teaches me to be good to others and she’s the one who

teaches me to strive hard again in studying. I changed because of her. I lied to me friends so that my little secret will not be revealed

because I’m afraid that my reputation will be gone…”

My eyes went huge when she said those words

“And now, I’ll be revealing my little secret to you. I don’t care if my reputation will be gone as long as I have her. There’s this girl who

is a transferee from Incheon. She’s Xenia Kwon. I bet you know her already because she’s genius. I lied to my friends. I told them that

she’s my cousin but the truth is…”

She took a deep breath “She’s my stepsister. We have the same appa and different umma. She has a sad past. She knew that her

umma will die in just a few days”

I cried when she said those words and people were staring at me

“When her umma died, she transferred to Seoul and stayed in our house. At first, I really don’t like her. I kept on telling her to stay

away from my family. She even escaped from us because she wants to go back to Incheon because of what I told her but she met a

chaos along the way and gomawo to Lee Donghae because he’s the one who found Xenia. After a few days, I tried to be close to her

and little by little, I accepted her as one of my family. Xenia Kwon, I’m really sorry for all the bad things I did to you. Mianhe, for telling you

bad words which I hurt your feelings and for reading your diary. You’re the one who teaches me to strive hard again in studying hard.

Saranghe, Xenia Kwon”

I smiled at her while the tears kept on falling from my eyes

“You know…” she said as she got the crown from her head

“This crown doesn’t belong to me. This crown doesn’t deserve me. This crown deserves to Xenia Kwon”

she said as she looked at me

My eyes went huge and she signaled me to come up on stage. And the students also told me that I should go up on stage. I awkwardly

went up on the stage and the students were clapping and cheering for me. Jessica put the crown on my head and put the sash in

my body.

“Unnie” I mumbled

“I’m so glad that you called me now unnie with your all your heart” she said

I nodded and smiled at her

We hugged each other

“And now, the Miss and Mister Prom 2011 will have their first dance” the host said

“You dance now with Donghae-ah” she said

I looked at Donghae and went to Jessica

“Unnie, I know that you really like him and this is just once in a lifetime. Why won’t you be the one to dance with him” I gave her a smirk

“I’m not the Miss Prom 2011” she tucked her tongue out

“You are! You just passed it to me”

“Because I don’t deserve it, you deserve it” she smiled

“To whom I’ll be dancing?” a voice from behind said

I turned around and looked at Donghae “To Jessica unnie”

“To Xenia-sshi”

Donghae scratched his head

“Lee Donghae, Jessica unnie is the one who won right and not me?” I smiled at Donghae

“Arasso! I’ll dance with… Jessica”

I giggled when I knew that Donghae is going to dance with Jessica unnie

“You owe me!” Jessica muttered

I tucked my tongue out “Merong!”

Donghae and Jessica went in front of the dance floor. And they danced along with the love song. I looked at them happily.

I decided to go outside to breathe some fresh air. I got my crown and the sash and looked at them

“Are you happy now?” a voice from behind said

I turned around and saw Gongchan walking towards me I smiled at him and nodded “I’ve been waiting for this to happen”

He nodded

There was an awkward moment. He broke the silence

“Xenia-sshi”

“Mmm?” I looked at him

“Before you came to my life, my life was full of sadness because of my umma’s death. And it took me 8 years to forget it. When you

came to my life, I forget all those things. I think I finally found my happiness and I think, it’s you. Gomawo for all the things you did

to me. Gomawo for existing”

My eyes went huge when he said those words

“Gongchan Shik” I mumbled

He looked at me

I hugged him tightly “Gomawo”

I let go of him and smiled at him

He smiled at me. I linked my arms and we went inside the building. After the prom, we went home. When we arrived at our house,

I went directly to my room and placed the crown and sash on the top of my study table. I sat on the bed. I heard a knock from the door.

I stood up and opened it. Jessica went inside the room and sat on the couch

“I have something to tell you”

I sat beside her “Mwo?”

---FLASHBACK---

While I ran going outside the building after what I heard what Hyoyeon and Tiffany said, Gongchan followed me. He wanted to

comfort me but he was beaten up by Donghae. Donghae was the first to comfort me. Gongchan and Jessica were looking at

us with teary eyes. Jessica looked from the other side of the garden, across Gongchan. They heard Donghae’s confession to

me and Gongchan went inside the building with teary eyes. Jessica decided to go with Gongchan. Jessica felt that Gongchan

really likes me. She went to Gongchan and told him to confess to me. But he said that he doesn’t have the guts to tell it to me.

Jessica forced him to confess until he agreed.

“Unnie, why did you do that?” I asked her

“So that you’ll know that he has feelings for you”

I looked down

“You’re now confused between Donghae and Gongchan. Am I right?”

I looked at her and nodded

“Follow what your heart tells. Don’t follow to someone else’s choice, arachi?”

“Arasso” I gave him a warm hug and let go of her

She stood up “Good night”

She went outside the room

Who am I going to choose? The one that loves me when were still in 4^th grade? Or the one who told me that I’m his happiness?
