“Even though I promised myself I wouldn’t risk the chance of getting hurt again, for some reason, when I’m with you, it all seems worth it…”

Lee Min Ho was dancing his off in the dance studio since 3 hours ago. He was sweating all over and trying to get the move right. He started to get frustrated and still wondering why the heck he needs to have concert when he’s not even a singer. Due to the car accident few years ago, he’ll still feel pain sometimes on his right thigh and knee especially in the cold weather. With the hectic dancing practice in these few days his whole body was aching and he almost can’t feel his own hips. As if it is not suffer enough, he doesn’t seem to have any appetite the whole day today and had a bad headache since this morning. The concert will be in 2 days and tomorrow will be the full rehearsal. He can’t get sick.

Even though he was in the country but he was still feeling exhausted. The schedule was still tight as hell. He just finished an interview and shooting CF today. Without taking any break he was here in the dance studio, still practicing for the concert. Everyone knows he’s bad in dancing but they still insist him to shake his in every concert. He sighed and looking at himself on the dance studio mirror. He does lose some weight since the drama filming ended.

It’s already 8pm and he’s waiting for his manager to take him home. He was sitting on the floor with his back leaning on the wall and eyes closed until someone opened the door. “Knock knock.” The room filled with Shin Hye’s voice and when Min Ho opened his eyes, he saw Shin Hye walking towards him with a smile. Min Ho tried to sit up straight but the headache is killing him. Shin Hye kneeled down beside him and asked, “Are you ready to go home, boss? I’m here to bring you back. Hyun Min oppa is waiting for us outside.”

Min Ho turned to her curiously. “Where is hyung? I thought he’ll come to fetch me. You should be going home instead being here. Don’t you need to rest?” His headache got even worse thinking that Shin Hye will need to go home alone so late later.

“Manager Han was stuck in the meeting with President Kim. He asked me to come with Hyun Min oppa because he doesn’t know the way here. He will fetch me home after fetches you.” Shin Hye replied. She can now sense something was not right. Min Ho’s face was so red and he looked as if he is in pain. “Are you okay? Your face is so red.” Without waiting for his answer, Shin Hye put her hand on his forehead and put another hand on her own. “Oh my god! You are having fever. Should I bring you to the hospital? I should call Manager Han.”

Before she could take her phone out, Min Ho grasped her hand and said weakly. “Don’t tell him. He’ll make a big fuss about it. Just bring me home and I’ll be okay after take some aspirin later. Don’t mention anything to Hyun Min too.” Shin Hye feel dilemma, don’t know whether to listen to Min Ho or not. But he probably was right. Telling Manager Han will only worsen the situation.

Min Ho told Hyun Min to just drop him at the basement and quickly send Shin Hye home. After waving his goodbye, he went straight to the elevator. When the car just turned out from the basement, Shin Hye turned to Hyun Min and said, “ Oppa, erm… you can just drop me here. I actually have an appointment with my friend somewhere nearby.”

“Here? Are you sure? Where is your appointment? I can drop you there instead.” Hyun Min said.

“Anya. Is just a café nearby. I’ll just walk there. I need to grab something on the way. See you tomorrow, oppa.” Shin Hye quickly opened the door and went down before Hyun Min could question her anymore.

Shin Hye remembered there was a small grocery store just 2 blocks away from Min Ho’s house. She quickly marched to the store and grabbed everything she needed.

Min Ho was lying weakly on the couch when he heard someone press on the doorbell. He groans in pain when he tried to stand up. Luckily he was still able to drag his feet to the door and opened it. It was Shin Hye standing outside holding a plastic bag. “What are you doing here? I thought Hyun Min should be fetching you home now?” he asked and pulled her into the house.

Shin Hye put down the plastic bag on the kitchen counter and walked to Min Ho who was still standing there looking at her. “I’m worried that you’ll eat medicine with empty stomach. So I’m thinking to make you some porridge. It will take a while before you can eat. You should lie down on the bed and rest first. I’ll wake you up when it’s ready.” Shin Hye said while pushing Min Ho into his room. Min Ho was too weak to protest, so he just lies himself down on the bed and sleep. She made her way to the kitchen and start cooking the porridge.

After about an hour, Shin Hye put the porridge, medicine and a glass of water on a tray and takes it to Min Ho’s room. She put the tray on his bedside table and sits on the bed. She patted him softly and Min Ho slowly opened his eyes. He really looked very sick. “The porridge is ready. You should eat some now so you can eat the medicine after that.” Min Ho nodded and she helps him to sit up with his back leaning on the headboard. Shin Hye took the bowl and started to spoon feed him.

After he finished the porridge, Shin Hye passed him the medicine and a glass of water. Min Ho took the medicine and looked at her. “It’s late already. You should go back now. Is Hyun Min coming back to fetch you?” Shin Hye took the glass and put back on the tray. “My appa will come to fetch me later, don’t worry.” she lied. She put her hand on Min Ho’s forehead and sighed. “Your head is still burning. Lie down and sleep.” Min Ho nodded weakly and closed his eyes.

Shin Hye took the tray and made her way to the kitchen. After washing the dishes, she walked to the living room and took a sit on the couch. She took her phone out and starts calling her mom. “Eomma, I’m sorry. I won’t be back tonight because we have something to be done urgently. I’ll take care and don’t worry about me. Okay. Sarangheyo eomma.” Shin Hye ended the call and let out a long sigh. I’m sorry eomma. Shin Hye felt very bad for lying but she can’t leave Min Ho alone. She put her phone back in her bag and took out a box. It’s the soft gel sheet for cooling relief from fever. She bought it from a drug store on the way here just now. She took a piece out and walked to Min Ho’s room again. Min Ho was sleeping soundly. His face was so pale and his head was still burning. He flinched a little when Shin Hye placed the gel sheet on his forehead.   

Shin Hye was walking in and out the whole night to change the gel sheet on his forehead to make sure his fever didn’t increase. The last time she checked was around 5am and his fever had gone down so she removed the sheet. She was so tired and took a short nap on the couch.

It was around 7am when Min Ho woke up with the sunlight seeping through the window warming his face. He got up and stretched. He felt so much better and the headache was gone. He got up slowly and a box of fever gel sheet on his bedside table caught his eyes. If he remembered correctly he doesn’t have such thing in his house. Min Ho walked out and stopped at the living room where he was stunned looking at Shin Hye sleeping on the couch. She was still wearing the same clothes from yesterday. She was here the whole night taking care of me? He walked to the couch and kneeled down b
