“One day I caught myself smiling for no reason, then I realized I was thinking of you…”

Who the hell is that? Lee Min Ho cursed. He looked at Park Shin Hye who was looking at him with a worried face. He took her hands in his, gave her a reassuring smile. “Shin Hye, don’t be panic. No matter who is standing out there, just stay calm. Pretend that you are here for work.”  

“Work?! What kind of work? If it’s Manager Han, he knows we don’t have anything to rush. And today is our off day.” Shin Hye asked with widened eyes.

“I have few CF contracts that he told me to read through. I can just tell him I need you to assist me on this because he is not around. Don’t worry. I’ll handle him. You just need to stay calm. Take these files and my laptop to the living room. Just pretend we are reading through the contract.” Min Ho said while taking the files and laptop. He then quickly pulled Shin Hye out from his room and put all the things on the coffee table. He turned to her and said, “Just stay calm. No matter what happened, I’m here, okay?” Shin Hye nodded and her palms started to sweat when she saw Min Ho was checking on the door monitor.

Damn it! Min Ho cursed under his breath after knowing who was standing out there. What are they doing here? He opened the door angrily and was now glaring at them.

“Happy New Year, chingu! What take you so long to open the door?” Shin Hye was shocked when she heard Jung Il Woo’s voice. There was another guy standing beside him. He was around Il Woo’s height and he looked very handsome. She can’t remember who he was but she know she saw him before somewhere in the internet.

“YAH! What are you guys doing here? You should call first before you came. And how you know I’m at home?” Min Ho asked with frustration.

“Are you having amnesia now? We have planned this on Christmas Eve. Steamboat dinner, remember? You were the one who told us you will have 2 days off. Yah! What are you doing here not letting us to go in? Can’t you see we are holding a lot of things? We bought a lot of ingredients for the steamboat.” Il Woo said and pushed himself inside.

“OMO! Park Shin Hye! Why are you here?” Il Woo asked when he saw Shin Hye standing at the living room. His eyes was widened with shocked. He then turned to Min Ho, staring at him like he just saw a ghost.

“W-Why can’t she be here? She is my assistant, remember? We are working.” Min Ho stuttered, trying to look calm.

Il Woo quickly put the bags on the kitchen table and run back to the living room. He was now standing beside Shin Hye and smiling at her. “Of course is okay to have a beautiful girl here.”

Shin Hye was still looking pale and don’t know how to react in a sudden. She looked at Min Ho and then to Il Woo. “Hi, Il Woo sunbae.” Min Ho doesn’t know why but he feels like punching on someone when he heard Shin Hye called him sunbae. Great! He was her school mate. Now I remember.

The guy who was standing beside Min Ho walked to Shin Hye and waved his hand to her. “Hi, I’m Kim Bum. Min Ho hyung’s friend.” Shin Hye smiled and bowed. “Annyeonghaseyo, I’m Park Shin Hye. You are one of the F4 members in Boys Over Flowers, right.” After took a closer look at him, she can now remember. Kim Bum nodded, smiling politely to her.

Min Ho ran a hand through his hair and sighed in frustration. He walked to them and mouthed to Shin Hye silently, “I’m sorry”. Shin Hye smiled and shrugged her shoulders.

Shin Hye was sitting on the floor pretending to do something on the laptop while Il Woo and Kim Bum were in the kitchen helping Min Ho to wash and prepare the steamboat’s ingredients.

Il Woo who was cutting the carrot, looked at Min Ho curiously. “Is there something going on between you and Shin Hye?” Kim Bum also looked at him when he heard what Il Wo asked. Min Ho was stunned and stopped whatever he was doing and turned to Il Woo. “What are you talking about? I told you already. She is my assistant.”

“But both of you were working on your off day without your manager around? This is quite fishy.” Il woo continue to asked, grinning.

“Hyung went to Jeju Island with his family. That’s why I’m forced to call her over. The contract is urgent and she is the one who handle everything. So she is the right person to explain to me on the details.” Min Ho lied, without looking at them.

“I thought you are supposed to be a very good actor but you don’t seem convincing when you are lying. You are just trying to find an excuse to get close to her.” Il Woo said, continue to cut the carrot. “Just don’t waste your time and energy. Shin Hye aren’t interested in guys like us.”

Min Ho turned to him again. “What is that supposed to mean?”

“I’m not lying. She don’t like flower boys. I was the most handsome guy in our high school last time but she didn’t seem to notice that at all. No matter how hard I try to ask her out, she never says yes. She doesn’t even remember who I am when we met during Christmas Eve party that day.” Il Woo said with disappointment.

Min Ho smiled proudly and didn’t bother to reply. She never say yes because you are not the one. In her heart there is only Lee Min Ho and that’s me.  

They were all startled when they heard Shin Hye’s voice. “Erm... sorry for disturbing but is there anything I can help? I can wash the vegetables.” She was standing beside the fridge looking at them.

“Just wait outside. We’re almost done.” Min Ho said, smiling happily when he saw Shin Hye, and he stole a glance at Il Woo who was also smiling looking at her. Aish… stop looking at my girlfriend like that. I can’t promise to keep you alive even you are my best friend.

It was already 7pm when they started to eat. Min Ho keeps asking Shin Hye what she wants to eat and put more foods in her bowl. Il Woo and Kim Bum looked at him with curious eyes and their reaction make Shin Hye feel uneasy and awkward.  She stopped Min Ho from putting more and looked at him with a meaningful glance, telling him that he is being too obvious and his friends are looking at them. 

Min Ho cleared his throat and turned to them. “Why aren’t you two say anything? Especially you, Jung Il Woo. You normally can’t stop talking even when your mouth is full of foods.”

 Il Woo creased his brows. He rubbed his chin for a moment before reply. “Because I’m quite distracted by both of you. You two look different from the time we last met. The way you look at her and the way she looks at you. Hmmm… the last time I saw you looking at someone like that was when you are with Min…” before he could finish his sentence, a kimchi
