Kim Taehyung & Gong Minji

Sitting at the dock of the lake, Minji was taking pictures of the sun that was setting down over the horizon of the lake, with orange and yellow colors sparkling over the water. She was using her Iphone 6 to continuously take pictures so she could upload to her Instagram page to show her followers the nice pictures that she was able to take with her skills of composition and angles. Another hobby she had apart from being a veterinarian.

As she kept snapping away, she felt a pair of hands snake behind her waist, but she already knew who it was. She paused herself from taking pictures on her phone, smiling and looking up to look at her boyfriend, Taehyung. His face was upside down when she looked at him in this position, seeing his almond-shaped eyes staring down at her. Just grinning without flashing his teeth at her already got her to smile… It was like that every single time – the only person that made her heart skip a beat.

“Hi babe.”

“Hi,” he replied back, wrapping his arms around her tighter and hugging her closely from behind. “Wait for me long?”

She shook her head at him in response. Even though her jacket was probably made of the thickest material , his grip around her was so tight that she hit his hands. “Babe, my jacket is tight enough. I can’t breathe with you hugging me like this.”

“I’m trying to hug you from a long day at work.”

She sulked, trying to act appalled from his cuteness, but he knew she was enjoying it, because she was. “Why are you being so cute today?” Minji asked with a grin. Dating him for a year already, she knew how he was. The only time he was overly affectionate was when she wasn’t paying full attention to him like she always did everyday, and the only time that happened was when she was working her shift at the animal hospital being a full-time veterinarian. She specialized in taking cares of dogs and cats, so her schedule was straight from eight in the morning to six at night, so it was quite busy. But she always tried to message him throughout the day to see how he was, and today happened to be one of those days. She specifically remembering messaging him at 12:15 PM because she ate lunch during that time, so she was wondering where the back hug was coming from. He laughed in response and replied, “Am I wrong?”

“You’re always wrong for being cute, babe,” she told him, him smiling so happily hearing her adorable words. He kissed the top of her head then made his way to sit next to her, resting his right arm on her left leg. As their legs were dangling over the lake water, Taehyung looked at his girlfriend with a loving smile then just planted a kiss on her cheeks. He caught her by surprise, so she looked at him as he said, “Is that cute enough for you?”

“Someone’s in a good mood today,” Minji stated, seeing how happy he looked. He began to pout and whined, “Was it busy at the hospital today?”

“It was pretty busy,” Minji nodded. “The canine influenza is going around so a lot of dogs came in to the emergency room.”

“Were all of them okay?” Taehyung asked out of concer, knowing that she always felt guilty if she wasn’t able to sae any of those animals. Minji nodded and smiled, “They were fine. Some of them had to stay over because they were worse than others, but they were all under the safe zone. Good thing there was plenty of medicine, so I was able to save them in time.”

When Taehyung was assured she was fine, he started smiling again. “My girl is probably the best vet in the hospital.”

She snickered and answered, “More like Hyoyeon Unnie and I were the only ones on shift today. When there’s two vets left with a lot of dogs coming in like that, we have no choice but to be good.”

“You’re still the best though,” he flirted, putting his nose against her cheeks and smiling. She always got shy everytime he became sweet and affectionate, which was strange because she always being like that to him, but she didn’t mind herself doing it. It was obvious that she was a lot more affectionate than Taehyung. Him on the other hand, showed affection less than her, but he tried his best to do so because of how sweet she was. She pulled away quickly from the shyness and asked, “How was work for you?”

“It was really good.”

“Mmm,” she nodded in agreement, staring at him back as he gave her an amused face. “Did they have you design romantic cartoons today, because you just seem really happy today.” Taehyung was a graphic designer for an animation company that designed cartoons, animation and motion graphic for mostly movies and television shows, which is why everyone always about being strange and childish because of what he did as a career.

“Well, I’m always happy seeing you, but,” he stated, making her roll her eyes. “My boss told me that Plus One Animation hired our company to be a part of their new project in producing an animation film. They want us to do more than just design the cartoons, but they want us to help create the storyline, the plot, the development of the characters, and do the graphic design for everything. That’s pretty big for our company.”

“That’s really good. You must be excited for that,” Minji said, proudly smiling at him. Taehyung nodded his head quickly with how happy he was and replied, “Super excited. The best part about it was that my boss wants me to be the manager the project. Basically the person to be in charge of this whole project.”

Her eyes lit up with excitement, proudly clapping his hands and exclaimed, “Yay, yay, yay! That’s the most exciting news. Oh my god, you must be so happy.”

“Now you know why I’m in a good mood.”

“Please. Talk about me being a good vet,” she snickered, smirking at him. “My baby gets to produce his own cartoon animation film now. I need to start promoting on Instagram now.”

“As a team, babe, as a team,” he reminded her. She wrapped her arms around his waist to give him a hug and also said, “Yeah, but you’re still in charge of that, please. That means your boss sees how awesome you are. All those nights of not sleeping finally paid off. I told you it would.”

He flashed her his wide, genuine smile and replied, “The only person who knows I got no sleep.” That resulted in a small glare from her, knowing he meant the days she sleptover his apartment. He obviously knew she got shy from everytime he mentioned how intimate they ever gotten, so she had no idea why he always liked to bring it up. It was probably how shy she got, that probably got him amused the most. To cover how shy she was, she slighty giggled and said, “The only person who knows how much you cried whenever you lost those artwork files at midnight. I always tell you to save your work as you go along, but you don’t want to listen, and end up having to redo it again. You’re lucky I love you, so obviously, I stayed up with you and gave you moral support.”

He leaned in closer to her face again and put his nose against her cheek once more. “Yeah, but you’re the only person who made me feel better during those nights so you made up for everything.” He started kissing her cheek more than once, grabbing onto her legs a little harder, but being the shy person that she is, she pulled her hands up and covered face, getting him to pull away. She mumbled with her hands on her face, “Babe, we’re in a public place.”

“Babe, last time I checked, we are the only ones who ever come by and sit at this lake for hours and hours. No one is coming. No one has ever come,” he stated truthfully, staring at Minji who looked absolutely adorable with her hands covering her face. Even though they had been dating for over a year now, she always got shy everytime he got more intimate than usual, which he just found absolutely adorable. She did love it everytime he showed affection, she just couldn’t help but get shy, because usually she was the sweet one in the relationship. When Taehyung did it back, she just got like this – without showing the affection, she knew that he was sincere to her, and that’s all she ever really needed from him.

His loyalty and his sincerity – he didn’t have to open about his love for her, because his actions showed a lot.

Taehyung didn’t stop with his teasing, so he moved down to kiss her neck, which sent shivers down her spine. Not only from how cold it was, but how good it felt with his lips on her neck. Still, that didn’t stop her from feeling flustered. It’d be different if they were on the bed doing this, not outside in the freezing cold, on the dock of a lake. Her hands were still covering her face as she squealed, “BABE! Can we please save this activity for indoors?!”

Taehyung couldn’t help but laugh at how adorable she was with covering her face and calling their intimacy an activity to be saved for indoors. How did he ever become so lucky to get such an adorable, cute person? “Why can’t this activity be done outdoors?”

“I will reconsider this relationship if you think about doing this outdoors,” she jokingly threatened, sliding her index finger out of her eye to leave an open space, finding Taehyung staring at her. He wrapped his arm around her waist and stopped kissing her, so she removed her hands out from covering her face to see that he stopped. He gave her a smugged smirk and said, “Fine, fine, fine, indoors it is then. Sorry babe, I guess I got too carried away from how excited I am about this project. It didn’t help that you’re so damn cute too.”

“I’m super happy for you,” she cupped her hands around his face, until his lips were pursed to a duck face. “But seriously though, keep that for indoors. I don’t want to be known as...”

“Known as...” Taehyung repeated the sentence that she drifted off from. “Known as what, babe?” She gave him a bashful look, pulling her hands away and quickly replied in a soft tone, “.” She scratched the back of her beck so shyly, that she could feel how warm she was from saying those words. All Taehyung did was laugh and shook his head, caressing her clothed waist with his finger. “Please babe, nothing wrong with being... .”

“I know,” she said with a glare. “But I’m not...” He gave her a cunning look as she continued, “Let’s move away from this topic and talk about your efforts finally being paid off. You get to make an animation film, are you excited about that?”

“Of course I am. It feels like I got an early birthday gift,” Taehyung stated happily, since his birthday was tomorrow. “Coming up with plot is going to be hard though. I’m only good at creating the story when there’s a plot and concept outlined for me. To actually create an idea, that's the hardest part for me."

Minji laughed amusingly and helped him by saying, “Why don’t you ask Marisa? I’m pretty sure she’d be open to be giving you ideas. Look at all the stories she writes. Those are some good stories.” Marisa was Jong In’s girlfriend, and Jong In was both of Taehyung’s and Minji’s best friend, so that’s how Marisa came to mind, because she was a storywriter for Hollym Publishing House. Taehyung pursed his lips and slightly nodded, trying to think if it would be a good idea. “I could ask, but would Jong In let me borrow his girlfriend? That guy is so protective of his girlfriend.”

“Jong In is only protective of his girlfriend with guys who want her because she is always oblivious to when guys want her,” Minji explained, giving him a look. “I’m sure Jong In knows that you don’t want her.” Unpleasantly, Minji poked his stomach, still giving him a pouting look. He wrapped his arm tightly and said, “Obviously I don’t, I have you. What more could I want?”

“Oh, so you don’t need your birthday present anymore?” She asked as a joke, smirking at him. His eyes went big as he quickly replied, “Besides that, babe.”

She laughed and playfully rolled her eyes at her silly boyfriend. She rested her left arm upon his right leg and told him, “You can get it on your actual birthday tomorrow then. Tonight, you just need to celebrate your accomplishment.”

“I’m sad you won’t be there tonight though,” Taehyung told her sadly, slouching his shoulders down. Taehyung’s group of friends decided to throw him a birthday party today, since they have been planning it for the longest time. Since his birthday fell on a Saturday, they decided to celebrate on a Friday night, which was today, at the popular nightclub that was literally right next to his apartment building. However, Minji wasn’t able to make it because her parents took an unexpected business trip, so that resulted in staying home and babysitting her sassy brat little brother, Junhoe. Minji pouted as well and replied in the same disappointed tone, “I know, I’m sorry. You know I want to go, but you know my parents are out of town for their business trip. I need to stay home with Junhoe.”

“Why don’t you try leaving him?” Taehyung questioned, trying to find methods to get her to go. “That kid is almost seventeen, I’m pretty sure he can stay home alone.”

“Yes, he can stay home alone,” Minji said, pursing her lips at him. “But if he does stay home alone and there is no guarantee that I will come back with a roof under the home. You should know how he is. He’s bad.”

“I know that, but I want you to be there with me, and with everyone else. It would’ve been fun.”

Minji felt bad everytime he kept saying he wanted her to be there for her birthday party, but she really couldn’t risk leaving the house to Junhoe being by himself. That meant he had access for his friends coming in without anyone seeing, and that was just a horrifying thought to her. She gave him a bright smile and grabbed his hand, also moving it around a little to show that she was super sad for not being there for his birthday. “Babe. You know I wanna go, but I seriously can’t. I wish Junhoe was more trustworthy, but he’s not. Remember the last time we left him home alone last year? Our dog got lost and the police came to our house. Please don’t be mad at me, babe. You know I love you so, so, so much.” She started pecking him on the lips a few times lightly, then when she pulled away, she just pouted at him sadly and begging him not to be mad at her. He smiled back at her, reaching his hands up to the side of her face to tuck her long hair behind her ears. “I know you can’t go, babe. I know how Junhoe is. I just wanted you to be there so we can all have fun together. I understand though, it’s okay. As long as I get to see you on my actual birthday, then I’ll be good.”

“Of course,” she replied happily, seeing that he was okay. “I’ll take you to your favorite buffet and you can order as much pork belly and japchae that you want. The limo will pick you up at noon, so be ready.”

“Babe, babe, babe, babe,” he called her a variety of times. “What do you mean, limo?”

“Mhm. A nice limo with a driver named Gong Minji. She’s kinda cute, so be ready, okay?”

“Oh... I remember her,” he started joking with her as well, trying not to burst out laughing with her playful comments. He replied with a shrug and said, “She’s okay.”

Minji squealed and squeezed his arm roughly, trying to get him to change his words that she was just okay. They played around for nearly a minute until Minji calmed down and said, “You’re about to not your present, babe. And you’ll regret it, because it’s a good present. I thought so much about it, you have no idea.”

Settling down, he grabbed her hand that was on her leg once more and tenderly placed his lips on her cheek. “You know I’m kidding, babe. I can’t wait to see what it is tomorrow, along with spending the entire day with you.”

“You’re gonna love it,” she said confidently, nodding cutely at him. Since she was facing him, Taehyung was resisting to kiss those lips of her, but he smirked and asked, “Are you included in this gift?” With that, he tenderly started kissing her, with her smiling into the kiss. However, she pulled away and asked back, “You want me to put a bow on myself or something?”

“You could... But there wouldn’t be any use since it’ll come off anyway,” he hinted to the subject she was back to being shy on. All she could do this time was glare at him, unpleased that he was mentioning this again. “Indoors, babe. Indoors.”

When they laughed a few more minutes then settled down, seeing that the sky was getting dark already from the sun setting already, they just sat there looking at the lake water, with Taehyung’s hands rested upon her leg. She then thought of something and made a loud humming noise, getting his attention. She looked at him wide-eyed and said, “I forgot to tell you... Jong In fixed his tire already, so he doesn’t need you to pick him up at his house anymore. He’ll bring his own car to the club because he has to pick up Marisa afterwards at her workplace, since she’s getting out late. He texted you, but you didn’t answer him, so he texted me to make sure you know.”

“Oh okay sweet,” Taehyung nodded in reply. “That means I don’t have to drive out to get him. I can just walk to the club then.”

“Must be nice having a nightclub that’s right next to your apartment,” she teased, raising an eyebrow at him. Shaking his head, he scoffed, “Until all those drunk people start getting loud and I can’t sleep.”

She looked at him cutely and asked, “So, basically everyone is going, right?”

“From everyone that I invited,” Taehyung nodded in response. “Most of them are going. They separated the crews into different groups too when they were posting on Facebook to inform me who was going.”

Chuckling, Minji asked, “What were the groups?”

“Listen well,” Taehyung began to explain, using hand gestures. “The high school crew... Jimin, Ricky, Sungjae, Sehun, Jungwha and Namjoo. The college crew... Jong In, Seok Jin Hyung, Nam Joon Hyung, Hoseok Hyung, Joy, Joohyun Noona and Jungkook. The animation graphic design crew... Yoon Gi Hyung, Tiffany Noona, Youngjae, Bomi Noona, Myungsoo Hyung, Amber Noona, Chanyeol Hyung and he’s bringing his girlfriend, Tina Noona, along as well.” Minji’s head already hurt from hearing everyone who was going, so she didn’t even bother to separate which person belonged to which group. Taehyung just had a bunch of friends being a social person, so she only knew who everyone was, but she wasn’t able to know who belonged to which group of friends, because it just seemed like everyone got along. Even when she was able to join them from time to time, she always felt like she knew them for so many years because of how friendly they were.

Even though Taehyung and Minji were dating for a year, she felt like she knew his friends so much because they always made her feel so welcoming. Well, obviously she knew Jong In because she was best friends with him since freshman year of high school, but then they went to different universities. Jong In met Taehyung at Yonsei University, where he was studying Life Science and Biotechnology, and Taehyung studied Creative Technology Management and Graphic Design; while Minji went to Seoul National University to study veterinary science and animal science. Taehyung and Minji were able to meet during that time with the help of Jong In, and she fell for his rather playful personality after a while and it took literally the longest time for him to finally ask her out because she was the shyest person in the history of shyest people. They literally had just begun dating when they both were finished with college and now it has been a good year and three months despite all the work that they’ve been doing; they still managed to make time for eachother.

She smiled at him and said, “So... Basically everyone and their mothers, right?” That made him laugh, but he nodded in agreement. Very softly, he placed his hand on her knee and looked at her directly in the eye, noticing him becoming very serious, which caught her by surprise. He rubbed her knee a few times then asked, “You’re alright with Wendy coming, right?” Minji couldn’t deny that she did become stiff hearing him say that name. Wendy, Taehyung’s ex-girlfriend that he had dated for about four years since high school throughout freshman year of college. Minji never met her personally, but she’s heard about Taehyung’s dating history with her. Jong In also had met her when they dated freshman year a few times, but they had broken up during that time so he didn’t see her again. Taehyung saw Minji get quiet so he squeezed her knee again and continued, “Babe. It’s really nothing. She’s in Seoul for the weekend and she’s staying with Sehun, so he figured he would bring her so we can have a small high school reunion. It’s really nothing.”

“I didn’t even say anything,” she said with a small chuckle. He slightly pouted and replied, “You went quiet on me. You’re not mad at me, right?”

“Why would I be mad at you?” She questioned back, half-smiling at him. “You didn’t do anything wrong, babe. Even if you did, I still wouldn’t be mad at you. Because I love you that much.” He cupped his hand around her face and carressed it, also saying, “I know, but I also don’t want you to worry tonight. I promise I won’t talk to her.”

“Yah babe,” she raised her voice, laughing at his odd thinking. “I didn’t even say you couldn’t talk to her. What kind of girlfriend would I be if I really said... You can’t look at her in the eye, okay? That’s just crazy.”

“I know, but you know what I mean. I don’t want you to think too much. I know how you get.”

“You know how I get,” she said, holding onto his hand. “So you should know that I trust you more than anything.” Her saying that made him smile, so he nodded his head and gave her a small kiss on the cheeks, feeling grateful that he had someone like her in his life. He grinned and told her, “I promise you don’t have to worry about anything. She’s coming with Sehun so I’ll pretty sure she’ll be stuck on him the entire night.”

“Enjoy your birthday, babe,” she wished for him, giving him a dorky smile. “If you get more drunk than usual, please let Jong In take your phone because I am not trying to pick up your phone call at four in the morning like last time.”

“Please, you’d pick it up at whatever time,” he scoffed playfully at her, gripping onto her hands tightly. “You love me, don’t even try to deny it.”

“Obviously,” Minji rhetorically replied, giving him a glare. “You’re my boyfriend, how can I not love you?” He smiled so big and pushed the tip of his nose against her cheeks, making her blush like crazy like she always did when he was being so touchy with her. She couldn’t deny that she liked it though, but she couldn’t control her excessive shyness and blushing everytime he did so. With his deep, raspy and smokey voice that she always found so attractive, he said in her ears, “You’re sleeping over tomorrow night after we spend my birthday together. Okay?”

“I have to see if Yoona Unnie is staying the night with Junhoe,” Minji replied, referring to Yoona, their older cousin who was taking a visit to their house, and also it was perfect for Minji to spend Taehyung’s birthday with him so she didn’t have to worry about Junhoe damaging the house or causing any trouble outside. He chuckled and responded, “Babe, that wasn’t a question.”

“I’ll ask Yoona Unnie, okay?” She said, giving him a playful smile. “But have fun tonight. I’m waiting to see pictures.”

“Don’t worry about tonight, okay?”

“I won’t,” she reassured. She stayed quiet for a few moments, then started smiling at him in a perky way. “If you want to get a picture with her, I’m giving you permission for one.” She stuck her fingers up at him and tried to give him a glare, but she wasn’t sure if she was succeeding or failing. By Taehyung’s laugh, it just seemed like he was amused, and to him, it looked like she was squinting from the sun in her eyes, but there wasn't even any sun. He wrapped his hand around her shorter index finger and said, “Babe. You are so bad at trying to be a crazy girlfriend, you just look like a little kid instead.”

“I know. I tried though. How was it?”

“Like I said, it was bad.”

She only laughed, knowing that she was being bad at trying to be a demanding girlfriend. She was the type of girlfriend who literally let him do whatever he wanted, and she never tried being annoying because she knew that he was trustworthy. All she ever asked for was for him to tell her the truth, let her know that he’s safe, and inform her about his whereabouts – which always took just one message for her to know. She took her phone out and handed him her phone, smiling bright at him. “I’m kidding though. Take all the pictures you want. But right now, let’s take a selfie. I need to a cute picture to give a birthday shoutout to my baby tonight.” Amused, he took the phone and couldn’t help but look at her so lovingly. How was he so lucky to have her? And Minji always felt the same that he fell for her strange, shy and awkward self.

Chubby looked at him with his sweet, innocent eyes, then motioned his head towards the living room, where Junhoe saw Minji dead asleep on the couch. Laughing a little, he turned back to look at Chubby and asked, “You hungry, kid?” In response, Chubby opened his mouth and began panting, which obviously meant that he was as well. In the household, Junhoe and Chubby were the ones who ate the most out of everyone, being the ones who get hungry late at night. The only reason Chubby ate a lot was because Junhoe was forever feeding him so he always got hungry along with the baby of the house. Continuously patting Chubby’s head, he chuckled and said, “Alright. Let’s go wake her up to make food for us then.”

“Noona!” Minji heard someone calling her rather violently into her ear, but she ignored it because she was in her own dreamland right now. She knew she was lying down and she knew the voice of the person calling her, but she’d rather not get up right now because of how comfortable her position was. A few moments later, she felt violent shaking to her body due to the person, who was also screaming, “NOONA… NOONA… MINJI NOONA… MINJI NOONA!!!!!!!”

Flickering her eyes open, while her little brother was coming clear into her vision, she finally woke up and remembered that she had fallen asleep on the couch. As she was lying horizontally on the sofa, Junhoe’s sassy little face was just staring down at her with his arms crossed against his chest. It hit her in the head like a bag of bricks that she was supposed to be watching Junhoe until he fell into deep sleep, so how the hell did she even doze off sleeping? She remembered that she was looking at some of her canine cases for some of the dogs still in the hospital, so why was she even dozing off doing work? She really felt the need to smack herself right now. She didn’t like the look on Junhoe’s face so she sprung up from lying down real quick and exclaimed, “Is the dog alive?!”

“Noona,” Junhoe called her, giving her the most irritated look a brother could give his sister. “Obviously the dog is alive, what kind of question is that? You need to chill.”

Minji turned around to see Chubby happily sleeping in his little house nearby the door, seeing him stare back at Minji and Junhoe with the most pleading, adorable look ever. Sighing in relief, she turned back to Junhoe and asked, “Then why did you wake me up so violently? You woke me up like the house was on fire, kid.”

“Not the house, Noona,” he said with a cunning smirk. “The garage is.”

“WHAT?!” Minji screamed on the top of her lungs, her heart turning into knots when Junhoe said that to her with the most casual face. “Junhoe, how did that even happen?! Why are you always doing this to us?! Do you not feel bad for our family?!” Her reaction just got him laughing up a storm, completely amused by how gullible his sister was. She was not pleased by him laughing about this, so he tried to make her lightened up by shaking her by the shoulders as he confessed, “Noona, please. If the garage was actually on fire, I’d probably throw a bag of rocks to your body to wake you up by the way you be sleeping. Omma and Appa call me bad, but you literally sleep through everything. A person could be breaking into the house and you would still be sleeping on the couch like this.” That was true though – Minji was the heaviest sleeper anyone had ever met. Even Taehyung that she never woke up; if she set her alarm, it would wake everyone else up before waking her up. This is why she always got angry at herself when she dozed off sleeping because she knew she wouldn’t wake up. She annoyingly looked at her little brother and scoffed, “No one is bad as you, child. Where do you think you’re going anyways? Why are you in that outfit?” She stared at the athletic attire that he was currently wearing, which was a red basketball jersey, black gym shorts and also white Nike sneakers. Shaking his head and chuckling, Junhoe answered, “I’m not thinking of going anywhere. I just came back in.”

“What time is it?”

“It’s eleven,” he answered, also taking a glance to look at his watch to make sure he was right, since he remembered separating from his group of friends at around 10:50. Her eyes went wide again, full of panic, as she asked back, “At night?”

“No , Noona, does it look bright out to you?” He responded, being the sassy person that he always was, which got Minji irritated as ever. Why couldn’t she have a nicer brother than this? Breathing heavily, she huffed and asked, “Where’d you go? What do you mean you just came back in?”

“I was playing ball with Bobby, Chanwoo, Donghyuk, Han Bin… And everyone else that’s in my crew. We didn’t go anywhere though, Noona. I just went across the street to the basketball court. I stayed inside the home village, so I didn’t go out, in case you tell Omma and Appa that I went out without permission again.”

“You were with your friends?” Minji quizzed him, her eyes still in the same shocked expression, still not changing. “Nearby our house? Are any of the cars damaged?”

“Noona… I am not that bad.”

“Boy, the sixteen-year-old teenagers who say they’re not bad, always end up being bad. So yeah, you’re bad,” Minji said honestly, rolling her eyes. Junhoe also rolled his eyes as well and sighed. His family would never understand how he was just still a teenager and wanted to hang out with his friends… They treated him like he was some child.

“I’m hungry.”

“We ate at like six.”

“It’s eleven now,” Junhoe stated sassily, pointing at his wristwatch for her to see. “That’s five hours of digesting food. Also, I went to play basketball for two hours, so I’m hungry again.”

“So, you want me to make food for you right now?”

“No, Noona, I want Chubby to make food for me,” Junhoe sassed, shaking his head, while Minji rolled her eyes at his excessive sarcasm. “Actually no, I’ll go eat out of his bowl… That’s what I’m trying to say.”

“You about to go be in his cage if you keep making sassy remarks at me,” she threatened, heading towards the kitchen to prepare the food that he wanted so badly. With a shrug, Junhoe raised his voice as she walked towards the kitchen and said, “Wait Noona, are you going to make food for me?!”

“Where do you think I’m going?” Minji exclaimed back to him, while Junhoe happily skipped into the kitchen. He tapped the back of his legs and told Chubby, “Come on, big guy. The sister’s gonna make food for us.” With that, Chubby jumped up from his little bed and followed Junhoe, hearing him pant which signaled that he was hungry. Once Junhoe sat down on the barstool of the kitchen island, he heard Minji gasp, which made him wince a bit. Talking to herself, she searched around and asked, “Where’s my phone?” Junhoe watch his sister search frantically for her phone, as he rested his elbows on the kitchen table, while Chubby took the lower chair right next to him, sitting right next to eachother. Their dog was probably the most spoiled dog ever. She saw her phone sitting on one of the counters and grabbed it, opening the screen to see five missed calls from her mother, three missed calls from her father, one missed call from Taehyung and two missed calls from Jong In… Along with a bunch of messages that she didn’t answer since she fell asleep for literally two hours.

She immediately dialed her mother’s number back, since her parents were most likely together. The dial tone went on about two times, until she heard the other side pick up. Without waiting, she put the phone on speaker and began, “Omma.”

“Why didn’t you pick up the phone?” She nearly screamed on the other end of the phone, slightly flinching at how loud and sharp her voice was. “Is there still a roof on top of my house? Can you still see the floor? Is the dog alive?” Minji turned her direction to look at Junhoe, seeing him squint his mouth very displeased, seeing that everyone thought he was such a troublemaker. All she did was mouth back to him, “Told you.” Which made him did the rolling of his eyes very lightly, still having squinted lips. On the phone, she said back, “Omma… The house is fine, we still have a roof to live under and the dog is fine. I fell asleep for two hours that’s why I didn’t pick up, Omma… Sorry.”

“I am not that ing bad, my lord guys,” Junhoe spoke up, making sure his mother heard him over the phone. Minji snickered and responded, "You're not bad, you're horrible."

Junhoe got irritated with all the negative talking about him. All he could react to that was an unpleased look, heavy breaths and shaking his head, annoyed by them. "You guys act like I'm gonna go out and kill somebody, the ?"

They heard their mother snicker and reply, “I’d be one of the first ones that dies because of you. The first case would be you giving your own mother a heart attack.”

“Then after, the sister will get a heart attack,” Minji replied, currently cracking eggs into the bowl to prepare her dish. Mrs. Gong slightly chuckled and said, “Junhoe… The only person that’d be with you is Chubby because everyone will die from you giving them a heart attack.”

“Ma… The dog might not even stay with him. The dog will probably get lost and he won’t come back home,” Minji also added in with a laugh, them laughing over the phone with talking about how bad he was. Getting annoyed with all their talking, Junhoe restlessly put his hands under his chin and looked at Minji with an unpleased face. Dramatically grunting, he told them, “I have the most dramatic people in my life.”

“Boy, you’re the one who makes our life dramatic,” Minji scoffed, giving him a glare. Mrs. Gong sighed and finally told her, “Minji… Please do not fall asleep until your brother is asleep. I asked you to watch him, so I really expect you to do that. I’m holding you responsible of watching him, so please just do this for me.”

“I will, Omma,” Minji reassured, letting out a deep breath as she was getting a very small lecture. “I didn’t mean to fall asleep. I was just looking over some dog cases for when I go in on Monday and my eyes started getting heavy, then I just knocked out. Ma, I’m missing Taehyung’s birthday just to watch Junhoe, so obviously I want to make sure that we still have a roof to live under.”

“Tell Taehyung that you love him no matter what and that you have to stay home,” she stated, Minji aggressively beating the eggs as she talked to her mother. “I’m sure he understands. He was there when Junhoe drove a pick-up truck into our yawn and ruined all my flowers.”

“Yes Omma, I remember that,” Minji said, getting embarrassed remembering that memory. “Taehyung and I weren’t even dating yet. That was like the second time I brought him over to the house and that happened. I will never live that down.”

“Just please don’t leave the house with him alone, okay?”

“I won’t, Omma. I’m making food for him real quick. Hopefully he’ll be really full and fall asleep.”

She chuckled over the line and said, “Put some drugs in his food so he won’t wake up until the morning.” She bursted out laughing with what her mother said and replied, “I was gonna go for cold medicine to knock him out but your method is absolutely perfect. You got some in the cabinet, right?” Junhoe coughed loudly and glared at Minji, also his mother over the phone. “Guys… I am still here.”

“Good, so you know how we feel about you,” Mrs. Gong snapped back, causing Junhoe to roll his eyes. “I thought you guys ate already. Last time I called to check, you said you were having dinner.” As Minji was about to open to tell her the truth, Junhoe gestured to her not to tell, sliding his index finger across his neck and giving her a demanding look. He moved around frantically and mouthed to Minji multiple times not to tell her because he wouldn’t get the end of it if she knew he left the house while his sister was taking a nap on the couch to go play basketball with his friends. It took a few moments to convince Minji, but she finally nodded her head and agreed with him. Sighing, she answered, “Chubby was hungry, so Junhoe wanted some too. I’m only doing it for our dog. He’s much cuter than Junhoe. Junhoe’s just there, you know Omma?”

Even though Minji meant to insult Junhoe, he was happy

Chapter 6: I finally finished the First Love series and I'm sad! It was a short series but very long so I savoured every word <3 I loved all the relationships in the story. The friendship between Kai, Minzy, Krystal, Lay and Luna was so cute and all the other characters that were thrown in were equally lovable! And of course, our fave Kaiminzy couple had me squealing. I love their'Opposites Attract' relationship, because they really do balanced each other well. Ah I died with every moment of theirs in the story and so I'm definitely looking forward for more stories about them too! Also keen for your other Minzy ships. So fighting! Much love ♥
