Chapter Seven:

Hyesung lifted his palm onto his lips. He had never kissed a guy like that. He had never used the inner things in his mouth with a guy before. And now he had done it with the brother of his leader. Though, something tasted different from the usual soft kisses. It had also felt different. The usually soft and taken care of lips felt suddenly rough and chapped. And the usually fresh exhale had no flavour. This time…the kiss had tasted like smoke.

Hyesung was still breathless and ashamed that he had done something like that without thinking. But luckily Jung Hyuk had answered. That was the only thing that mattered. He turned around and clasped his hands against the door, looking through the peek hole. Jung Hyuk was still standing there. Hyesung blushed and opened the door, shocking the other one a bit.

“Would you…like to have a cup of coffee?” he questioned.

“No…no, thank you.” And with that, the older man almost ran away, not looking back.

“What did he do?” Dongwan and Junjin yelled in unison. “He kissed you and you kissed him back!? WHY!?”

Eric’s high cheekbones were blushed as he bowed his head down and shrugged. He knew that the two knew exactly why he had kissed the main vocalist back. He was a stupid idiot. He was a douche since he had never realised his true feelings. He wasn’t a cheesy person, unless it was a drama, but he felt absolutely terrible at the moment.

“It was just a moment. And to be very honest, I didn’t actually perceive that I was kissing him back. I kept thinking during it.” The leader confessed.

“What were you thinking?” Junjin asked, rubbing the bandaid covered arm. “About your next move? That maybe you could take him to your bed and sleep with him and tell him that you are Eric? Or that you shouldn’t do it because you aren’t your brother? Or that you should have pushed him away and scold him while being your brother so he would get sad?” He bombarded. “I say; you should’ve done the last one.”

Eric sighed and bowed his head deeper.

“Yah, Jin ah, don’t scold the idiot.” Dongwan mumbled. “Eric was an imbecile but in that shocking situation, I would have done the same.”

Andy entered the room and saw the three in the middle of a conversation. He exhaled, put his hands into his pockets and slumped down next to Junjin.

“You know if you want to be “secretive” around Hyesung hyung, you shouldn’t sit in the middle of the practice room and talk out loud.” The maknae explained and looked at the bemused faces of the hyungs and the embarrassed face of Junjin. “Junjin told me.” Andy added, pointing the guy next to him matter-of-factly. “While I was taking care of him.”

Junjin tsked and held the broken elbow with his palm.

“Yah, Jin…” Eric mumbled. “Is there anyone else who knows?” He interrogated.

“No.” Junjin responded.

Dongwan placed a hand under his chin and muttered something when the door opened and the main vocalist stepped in together with Minwoo. They were conversing frantically, laughing lightly in between when Hyesung turned around and his eyes fixed to Eric’s. The oldest member sensed his body function decrease as his cheeks were burning hot. Someone was poking him, trying to get his attention so he wouldn’t ruin his character instantly, after a one day.

“Hi.” Hyesung greeted the four on the floor.

All of them sneered, except Junjin who pretended to have something else in his mind, and Eric, who was just staring.

“Jin ah, are you okay?” Hyesung questioned, nodding towards the arm.

He felt the devastation and frustration growing inside him when Junjin didn’t even look at him, but the others and rubbed the elbow again. He then stood up, and walked past Hyesung to sit onto a chair since he couldn’t practice today at all.

“It’s broken…what do you think?” The baby bird replied seriously and crossed his legs.

“Oh.” Hyesung spoke and sighed sadly, walking to the formation in the middle of the room. “I just…wanted to ask.”

Junjin snorted and looked away, seeing the slightly upset faces of his other members. They comprehended though that there wasn’t a reason for Junjin to forgive anything to Hyesung. Not until Jung Hyuk was out of the picture. Junjin put on the music from Minwoo’s cue and the others began to dance. Eric was messing steps every time Hyesung was too near.

“Yah!” The little prince shouted. “Focus!”

“I am…focusing!” The leader exclaimed, his heart thudding rapidly.

“No, you are not!” Hyesung convinced. “You aren’t allowed to make mistakes!”

Eric’s face turned straight as soon as the younger man had stopped screaming at him. “And you are!?” He shouted back. “You are allowed to make mistakes!?”

“What was that supposed to mean!?” The main vocalist lifted his hands onto his hips.

“Hey, guys…” Andy butted in.

“You are making a mistake with my brother! That is what I am saying!” Eric huffed. “A BIG MISTAKE!”

“Yah, guys…” Andy whispered.

“You know nothing about Jung Hyuk ah!” Hyesung yelled. “He is sweet and considerate unlike you!”

Eric began to laugh. “Jesus Christ, Hyesung! HE IS MY BROTHER! There is a reason why I didn’t tell he existed!” he commented furiously. “If you saw what I, we, saw, you’d comprehend! But because you are too busy to play blind, you don’t see us getting hurt!”

“GUYS!” Andy screamed in the middle. Everyone looked at him. “If you guys keep arguing, I suggest we postpone the comeback with one more month.”

Eric’s chest rose due to the heavy breath as he finished gritting his teeth and glanced at the maknae. He then nodded and crooned, “No. I am fine.”

Hyesung waited for Jung Hyuk to come. He was heaving disapproving sighs every time Eric’s words in the practice room came into his mind. He didn’t know what was wrong with Eric, but saying stuff like that from your own brother was horrendous. Hyesung then pondered on Junjin and Dongwan who had been avoiding him, other for reason and other one without saying anything. And usually Andy was being nice to him, and siding with him if he had hard time. But of course Andy took the side of his brother Eric when something was happening between him and Eric.

The doorbell rang and Hyesung rose up from the chair.

“Hi.” He greeted as soon as the door was open.

“Hi.” Jung Hyuk answered. “Are you okay? You sounded a bit down on the phone.” He rubbed the cheek.

“No, I am fine.” Hyesung flashed a smile. “It’s just…about the members; Eric in particular.”

Jung Hyuk stared at the main vocalist, his cheeks rather red from usual. His other hand itched to rise onto the other cheek. Hyesung grabbed the wrist into his palm and it, leering into the big dark brown eyes (A/N: if you remember, Jung Hyuk has light brown ;)). Then Jung Hyuk leaned in and pressed his plump lips onto the smaller ones. The younger guy shoved the hands off his cheeks and threw his arms over the shoulders, taking the lips fuller onto his. Jung Hyuk opened his mouth wide and out the soft tongue, moving it all the way towards Hyesung’s.

The smoke tasted on the tip again.

Jung Hyuk placed his hands onto the waist and towards the hem of the hoodie the shorter lad was wearing as the fingers trailed through the zipper towards the opener. Hyesung moved his lips, controlling the kiss and moved his arms sluggishly to let the sleeves slid off them. As soon as the hoodie was off and it had stopped covering Hyesung’s complexion, Jung Hyuk left the lips and took the skin on the neck between his teeth and lips.

“Jung Hyuk ah,” Hyesung sighed and grasped the hem of the man’s long sleeved shirt. He pulled it off and broke the fantastic feeling on his neck. But Jung Hyuk claimed it back. “Jung Hyuk…”

The older guy went through the neck to the jawline and then back to the lips and began to undress the t-shirt. The main vocalist lifted his arms and the shirt slipped through, allowing the long arms get back onto the shoulders. Jung Hyuk commenced walking towards the bedroom when something suddenly made him pull off and ogle at the other one, blushing suddenly.

“I’m…I’m sorry!” The taller one apologised.

Hyesung scowled bewildered.

“I…I…I shouldn’t have done that.” Jung Hyuk whispered. “I’m sorry…I…I will go.” And he grabbed his shirt and ran out as fast as he could.

“No…it was…it was okay.” Hyesung murmured when the door was shut, his palm touching the spot that had been and kissed.

Eric was panting in the car when he got a message to his phone. He tapped it open and sighed, almost relieved, when the real Jung Hyuk told he was about to arrive back to Seoul. Eric looked at the flushed face from the mirror and exhaled. He couldn’t control himself.

“Stupid.” He muttered.

Jung Hyuk had called Hyesung to meet him at their favourite restaurant, as soon as he had landed to the airport. He hadn’t said he had been in a foreign country, since he would have ruined the character of Eric, but he had said he missed him. When the main vocalist had appeared to the restaurant, he had grabbed the face and kissed Jung Hyuk endlessly, savouring with the cavern.

When Jung Hyuk pecked him, before pulling off, Hyesung frowned and looked away a bit, as if he was contemplating. The scowl on his face deepened when the familiar flavour wasn’t swirling on his tongue. But he shook it away and fished out a box from his pocket.

 "You want a cigarette?" Hyesung asked.

"No. I don't smoke." Jung Hyuk told. “But Eric does.”

Hyesung halted his steps and like someone had startled him, his heart skipped a beat. But before he could think any further Jung Hyuk turned around and took his hands. Hyesung blinked his eyes and Jung Hyuk kneeled down, the serious, yet adorable face seeming tense.

"Hyesung...I know we haven’t known that long, but…will you marry me?"

The main vocalist looked down at the man and smiled, and lifted him up.

This was it.

This was what he, the fans and other members had been waiting for.

He was proposed by someone who genuinely loved him.

He was proposed by his boyfriend and not by a fan.

Now was his chance to change the future and grant everyone’s wish.

This was what he wanted.

Hyesung’s eyes were smiling when the answer form onto his lips.

"No."
