A lie
ANGEL EYESBOM
It can’t be… but we… I was battling with my thoughts when Tao started moving. That made me notice that Luhan and his mother were leaving.
I snapped out of it and followed them. Small Luhan stopped crying but I could still see his jaw trembling.
They stopped in the middle of the forest glade. The women kept looking around as if she was expecting someone.
After few minutes I saw a figure dressed all in black walking towards them.
“Finally! It’s have been so long.” Woman with white hair said.
Mysterious person took off the hood from her head and then I saw my… MOM?!
Our face features looked similar but I remember her looking bright and younger back in the days. Now she looked older and her face had much more wrinkles that Luhan’s mother.
Both of them hugged each other tightly.
“You look old… how did this happen?” she asked “Your hair?” she added and touched my mom’s dark brown hair.
“I’m happy the way I am now…” she answered and touched her chest.
“What did you do?” Luhan’s mother asked.
“It doesn’t matter now.” She answered and then saw Luhan. Her eyes became teary “Is that your son?” she asked.
“Yes…” woman with white hair answered all tense “His name is Luhan.” Little boy shyly looked at his aunt.
“He looks just like you. I’m happy that you have a family and that you found your own place in this world.” My mother said and touched her sister’s cheek.
“What have you been doing though all this years?” Luhan’s mother asked.
“I was searching ….” She said.
“For what?”
“My life’s meaning, happiness, love.” My mom answered “I found it six years ago.” She added.
Six years? I was born then?
“What do you mean?” Luhan’s mother asked.
“Six years ago I found a real treasure. It was so precious to me that it made me gave away half of my powers.” my mom said.
“That explains why you look like that.” Luhan’s mother said.
“Looks doesn’t matter to me anymore. I never expected I could love someone so much. She was the one who made me feel alive again.” My mother said.
“She?”
“Yes ….. My daughter…”
“How? The Sun descendants are made of pure fire. They’re unable to have children.” I heard and those words made my heartbeat speeding up.
“Our mother didn’t gave birth to me earthier. My father gave me to her when he saw you in her arms.” She said “Even if I didn’t gave birth to her she’s my blood. Half of my heart belong to her.” My mother stated.
“What have you done?”
“I found that little human creature thrown into a trash by her biological mother. She was dying, slowly, painfully covered up with a blanket. When I looked at her face, when she grabbed my finger with her little hand…. That was the moment when I found my sense of living.” My mother said. “Wasn’t I supposed to be the future Earth Mother? How could I let her die there? She was so small, fragile and pure. I gave half of my heart and power to save her, then watched her grow so beautifully.” She ended and tears fell from my eyes.
“What will happen if Fire King finds you? You’ll be too weak to fight him.” Luhan’s mother said.
“It doesn’t matter to me anymore….”
“But it matters to me!”
“Ever since I took my human form he wasn’t able to track me.” my mom said.
“What if he sent his spies after me?” Luhan’s mother said and looked around.
“Whatever happens to me I want you to take care of my daughter. Her true - demon form will appear when she’ll be 18 years old. When that happens, she’ll become the next Earth Mother. Don’t cry…..” my mom touched her sister’s cheek again.
“I wish we could take back the time.”
“That’s impossible… just promise me you’ll take care of her. Her name is Bom…” my mom added.
“I promise.”
“Can you smell it?” my mother asked and looked around in panic.
“No, what is it?” her sister asked.
“Today is the time to end all this…..” my mother said and looked deep into the forest “Save yourself and your son… He’s
