Aftermath
Order of the WolfHansol paced back and forth anxiously and he sighed in relief when the others finally entered the hideout. Sangdo laid the still unconscious Gohn on the couch. The other lions were rubbing their injured shoulders, but it looked like the wounds had already healed up for the most part.
“What happened after I left!? That guy… please tell me there is some way that we can save him! Hojoon, there’s some kind of magic spell you can use to bring him back right? Right!?” Hansol didn’t even take a breath between sentences.
“Hansol… there’s no magic that can bring someone back to life. There are rules that we have to follow. We can’t bend the rules of life and death, we can’t use more than ten spells in one day, and we can’t directly harm another wizard using magic or we’ll lose our powers forever… I’m sorry Hansol but, he’s dead,” Hojoon explained. Hansol’s legs went numb as he stumbled backward and plopped down on the couch behind him. He couldn’t believe that this was happening to him. Byungjoo sat down next to him.
“Hyung… I know you didn’t mean to do it. You’d never do something like that on purpose,” he said, but his words were useless. Hansol buried his face in his knees and burst into tears. Byungjoo patted his back supportively, and the others were forced to look away; not able to handle the sight of Hansol sobbing.
Xero quietly approached the couch and sat down on the other side of Hansol.
“Hansol,” he said softly. Hansol looked up, his eyes red and swollen. Xero didn’t say another word, he simply grabbed Hansol and hugged him tight, getting a surprised gasp from the others.
“Why are you…”
“I know how you feel Hansol. I understand your pain. I’m the only person here that does… and now, you understand me,” Xero said. Hansol’s jaw dropped. He didn’t even realize that now, he was in the same position as Xero. The same person he had called a monster, was now the only person who could possibly understand how he was feeling.
“Look guys, I know that this is a big deal for Hansol… but we need to discuss the fact that everyone at this school saw us using our powers… something needs to be done about this,” Sehyuk said.
“I have an idea,” said Jenissi.
“Well let’s hear it,”
“We could have the wizards perform a mass mind wipe to make everyone forget what actually happened. Then we could say that there was some kind of freak accident that killed the knight,” Jenissi explained.
“A mass mind wipe would take all four of us… you up for it Hansol?” Hojoon asked. Hansol weakly nodded.
“Join hands,” Xero instructed, helping Hansol stand. The four wizards linked hands while Hojoon chanted in Latin. Hansol could feel the small electric shocks between his fingers as a large ball of light appeared in front of them. It grew bigger and bigger until it filled the room. The light covered the entire campus before Hojoon finally stopped chanting.
“It’s done. Now no one on campus will remember what actually happened except us,” he said.
“Good. Sangdo and I will go to the dean and make up a story… the rest of you go back to your dorms,” Sehyuk said.
After they walked outside into the field, Byungjoo was reluctant to leave Hansol’s side.
“Hyung are you sure you’ll be okay?” he asked with wide, concerned eyes.
“I’ll be fine, go to your room, we’ll talk in the morning,” Hansol said. Byungjoo nodded before slowly walking away. Hansol’s legs were still shaking, so he couldn’t walk very fast. Xero stayed by his side, slowing down to match his pace.
“Xero… I’m sorry for what I said before… I should have stopped to consider how you felt. I was an ,” Hansol admitted, wiping a falling tear.
“Listen Hansol… I know you aren’t a bad person. But one thing you’re going to have to learn is to not judge people by their past. Just because someone messed up, doesn’t mean they don’t deserve forgiveness… That’s why I’ll forgive you for reading my journal if you’ll forgive me for the accident,”
“Of course I can forgive you… I just want to be friends again. I don’t need any more negativity after what happened tonight,”
“Sounds good to me,”

Kidoh couldn’t bear to leave Jin… Sanggyun and Nakta had to forcibly pull him away when they noticed the bright light enveloping the campus. They ran to their room as fast as possible and activated their spell seal; an ancient trick that the knights used to keep themselves free from the wizards’ mind tricks.
Now, Kidoh was just sitting on his bed, staring blankly at the wall. The police had been called and Jin’s body had been recovered, but no one seemed to remember what happened. Nakta entered the room and punched the wall in anger.
“What is it?” Sanggyun asked.
“We were right… those wizards used some kind of mind control to make everyone forget. Luckily we were inside the spell seal at the time,” Nakta said.
“So not only did we lose Jin… but we also failed our mission…” Sanggyun said softly. Kidoh didn’t care about victory or failure… his best friend was dead and he couldn’t do anything to change that. First his brother, and now Jin… He may not have been able to bring Jin back from the dead… but he could kill every single one of those responsible.
He would not only kill them… but he would make them suffer first. He was determined to make them feel the pain that they had caused him, even if it cost him his sanity...
