Uneasy Alliance
Order of the WolfHansol flipped through the pages of Xero’s spell book as Hojoon, Gohn and Sehyuk discussed a plan. There were many different spells, for anything someone could think of. Hansol snapped mental pictures of the pages, finally putting his photographic memory to good use. He didn’t even notice Seogoong sit next to him.
“Hey Hansol,”
“Oh hey Seogoong, what’s up?”
“I just wanted to make sure you were doing alright… you kinda got hit with a bombshell earlier,”
“Oh that? Yeah, I’m fine, although… I guess the reality hasn’t really sunk in yet, you know?”
“I understand. Well, if you need to talk, just let me know,”
“Will do,” Hansol replied with a smile, before looking back down at the book. He was shaken from his thoughts again by a knock on the door. Byungjoo skipped over and opened it… revealing Nakta and Sanggyun. Jenissi let out a growl and moved to the door faster than Hansol could follow.
“What the hell are you two doing here?” he demanded.
“Someone call off the guard dog, we’re just here to talk,” Nakta said.
“I’m pretty sure Lions are cats,” Sanggyun whispered. Nakta rolled his eyes.
“At ease Jenissi, let’s hear what they have to say,” Gohn said. Jenissi reluctantly backed away from the door, allowing them to enter.
“What is it?” Sehyuk asked, raising an eyebrow.
“It’s Kidoh… we’re worried that he’s about to do something that could endanger the entire student body, and the reputation of the knights,” Nakta explained.
“Why should we give a about the reputation of the knights?” Jenissi interjected. He was quickly silenced by Gohn.
“We know that he has the Athenian Power Stone,” Hojoon said.
“According to this book, its power will drive him insane,” Sehyuk added.
“I knew there had to be a downside!” Sanggyun said.
“If he uses the stone, he will be powerful enough to kill all of you. Consider this a warning,” Nakta said.
“We can handle ourselves,” Xero replied.
“I’m not so sure… according to this, the last recorded use of the stone was in Ancient Rome. The user, a prince, used the power to single handedly take down an entire army of Rome’s finest soldiers,” Sehyuk read the words from the page, following them with his finger.
“Will you help us?” Hansol finally spoke up.
“We can’t betray Kidoh,” Nakta said.
“I understand… but is your loyalty to Kidoh, or is your loyalty to the knights?”
“What are you talking about?”
“Kidoh may be your leader… but if he is betraying the idea of what the knights stand for, then isn’t he wrong?”
“I guess…”
“So you’ll help us then,” Hansol smiled devilishly, satisfied with persuasive skills.
“I think we should,” Sanggyun said. Nakta sighed heavily.
“Yeah, we’ll help you,”

Kidoh sat down on the hotel bed and looked down at his phone. He’d tried to call Nakta and Sanggyun multiple times, but they wouldn’t pick up.
“Forget about them Kidoh, they left you,” Jiwon said, sitting down next to Kidoh on the bed.
“But, they’re my friends,”
“Real friends wouldn’t have just left you like that. Besides, with the stone’s power, you won’t need their help anyway,”
“When should I use it?”
“Once we get back to the school. The school’s security will pose no threat and by the time any real authorities arrive, it will already be over,”
Kidoh nodded, Jiwon’s plan seemed to be really well thought out.
“I think I’m gonna get some rest,” he said. Jiwon moved back to his own bed as Kidoh laid down. He didn’t know why he was feeling this way. He should’ve been excited that his revenge was about to come to fruition, but instead he felt like there was an enormous weight on his chest… his only hope was that once the plan was complete, the feeling would go away.
