Chapter Seventeen
The Weapon Master's SonAs soon as the king had the sword, Byungjoo’s father glanced at Hansol. He looked very nervous and tense, so Hansol took a cue from him to stay on guard. He watched his father’s every move, unsure of what he would do.
His father glanced at the Weapon’s Master. “Bring my son in here. The crown prince. He needs to see this,” as soon as he uttered these words, Hansol felt very uneasy. What was his father planning?
His brother walked into the room, completely ignoring Hansol, as usual. Hansol found it strange that his brother would appear afraid of the sword. His thoughts immediately returned to the man in the inn who had tried to take the sword and had died a terrible death. Not just anyone could touch it. His eyes widened in curiosity, an idea popping into his head. He wouldn’t voice his opinion, since it could mess up his plan. Instead, he watched as his father motioned for his brother to approach him. His brother was watching the sword carefully, a fearful expression on in his eyes.
The king started to hand the sword to Hansol’s brother, but he shook his head. “Take it,” the king demanded, and Hansol’s brother backed away, shaking his head. The king looked very angry, stepping done from his throne. “I see how it is. You’re afraid, and a coward, just like Hansol. Neither one of you is worthy of holding it, so I will keep it myself. Since the sword controls the kingdom, I have all of the power now, and the two of you are nothing to me. I do not have sons now.”
The Weapon’s Master glanced at Hansol, then approached the king. “King Hangoong, give me the sword. It isn’t safe here.”
The king laughed, sounding crazy. The power of the sword was getting to him. “Take it, if you want it. I dare you…”
Byungjoo shook his head at his father, fearful. “Father…Please don’t do it. He’s…” Byungjoo shut up when he got a stern look from the king. Shivering, he turned back to Hansol with the same fearful expression. His father glanced at Byungjoo, then lunged at the king.
