“What is he doing here?” Yoorin started to let her panic show as soon as Jeongmin dragged her out of that room.
“Yoorin, stay calm,” Jeongmin said slowly, steadying her with both of his hands on her shoulders. “You said you trusted me, so now’s your time to put that trust on the table.”
“I trust you,” she said, breathing heavily. “But that doesn’t mean I understand - oh, my God, Jeongmin, I seriously think I might be hyperventilating, will you please pass me a paper bag?”
He rolled his eyes, “We don’t have any, and you’re not hyperventilating so just calm down amd breathe normally.”
She stopped her dramatic breathing and took in a long breath before speaking, “Oh, so I’m not hyperventilating. But I still need answers, why would you bring him here? It’s not even for a visit, you’re letting him live here.”
“Yoorin,” Jeongmin let go of her and moved her to sit on the end of the bed, “calm down. Seriously, this is all going to be fine.”
“You know what he meant to me, you know what we’ve been through and you know how much he affected me. How could you just dump him into this apartment and trust me completely?”
“Yes, that is correct; I know the history between you and him so you don’t need to worry about anything. I trust you completely, yes. You are also spot on with that one so maybe you should learn to trust yourself, okay?”
She nodded slowly, looking up into his eyes. “So mind telling me what this is all about now?”
He sat down next to her and took her hand in his, the back of it with his thumb. “I know you two have unfinished business – and don’t interrupt me while I try to talk, understand?” He quickly said when he saw her parting lips. She nodded and let him continue, “You know I hate it when you try to ignore problems and run away from. I just want you to face up to it and deal with the situation instead of disregarding it. I know that if you were to meet him in a different scenario then you would definitely make things very awkward and probably try to ignore everything and just avoid him, and I don’t want that. And after a little conversation I had with him earlier I knew that he would be trying to get back in contact with you, whether you wanted it or not. I have a feeling that you would maybe talk to him here and there and not tell me about it because you’d think I’d get the wrong idea, and you know that I wouldn’t be very happy about that.
“I seriously could care less whether you talk to him or not, I just can’t stand the thought of you sneaking behind my back and talking to him – no matter how innocent it all is. So,” he stood up, pulling her along with him. “I decided that I liked the idea of you two sorting out your matters under my roof where I can see everything better than the rest of the alternatives.”
“I don’t even think I have anything I want to say to him…” she said, staring at the ground blankly. “I mean, if he had came back a year ago then I would have jumped right back into his arms and talk to him for three days straight. But I just don’t really see the point in all of this now, especially since I already have someone that makes me happy,” she looked up at him and cracked a grin when she saw him with blushed cheeks. “Let’s go to the kitchen and make dinner, I bought lots of food while I was out today!”
Meanwhile, Minwoo was alone in the room. He had long slid down the wall and sat on the ground with his legs sprawled out in front of him. He blinked at the wall and shook his head as he tried for the umpteenth time to piece everything together. But seriously, what the just happened?
He closed his eyes and let out a shaky breath. He couldn’t help but feel a little betrayed by Jeongmin, which was stupid because the two were never close and Yoorin wasn’t even with him anymore. It was just strange to think of her b
