Blue Dreaming
Drabbles-
The speaker was still droning on about the graphs in his heavy accent. Joonmyeon leaned back in his chair and sighed discreetly, fingers twisting hair into knots. His eyes wandered to the window, which was partly obscured by thick wooden brown blinds. In the gaps the blinds jumped, he could make out the table sitting on the balcony, accompanied by two forlorn chairs. And just beyond, the lazy glaucous ocean. The unceasing voice continued on but flattened out into monotone in the back of the boy’s mind as he watched the world beyond the window, and the atmosphere suddenly felt very quiet and still. He could only imagine the loudness of the wind just outside, but now as a lone yellow paraglider canopy floated into view and drifted across the scope of the window, he thought how nice it must feel to be suspended in a silent bubble of oneself, on the backdrop of a dull blue grey sky, while the wide wide ocean yawned below.
