His Name
Caffeinated Love [Hiatus]His Name
Smiling, he reached out to take the drink, unknowingly knocking into the cup, causing the beverage to spill over the top.
''Ah!''
I pulled back my hand quickly, hot pain zigzagging up my fingers. ''Sorry sorry sorry,'' He mumbled hurriedly.
My eyes shot from my fingers to the mess of coffee when I felt that the pain was bearable. The cup had been shattered, lying in a pool of the coffee. ''It's okay. Thank God you're not hurt.'' I said to him earnestly, looking him in the eye, offering him a tiny smile. Looking up at his worried gaze, I couldn't help but feel that I was so... loved.
''Come,'' came a voice, cutting in for the best. I looked behind and saw Anna, before she pulled me to the sink and the tap. The ice cold water rained down on my fingers before I felt them go numb. I felt kind of bad for leaving that beautiful stranger waiting there. ''The skin will feel a bit tender, but other than that it'd be okay. I suggest you wrap it in gauze and refrain from using your fingers too much.'' ''Mmm, thanks,'' I mumbled shyly, feeling a little embarassed that Anna was showing so much care for me.
She then left me standing there for a while more, before she pulled out a first aid kit from God knows where. Guilding my fingers out from the cold water, she dried them gently with a cloth before wrapping them in gauze. ''Thanks,'' I said when she was done, grateful.
''I should go clean up the mess...'' I figured, walking towards the counter. ''I'll help you,'' Anna offered as she put away the first aid kit.
My eyes wandered everywhere but the beautiful stranger was nowhere to be seen. Disappointed, I picked up the glass pieces slowly in an attempt not to hurt myself and threw them all in the dustbin. Anna brought a cloth and cleaned up the liquid mess.
After heading back to the counter to await customers, I was so surprised to find a note on the counter.
''I'm sorry. I'll be back. -Yongguk.''
said the note and I couldn't seem to contain my excitement. Tucking the hurriedly-scribbled-note-which-happened-to-be-a-receipt into the pocket of my apron, I smiled unconsciously.
''Yongguk,'' I murmured, trying out his name, trying out his name, loving how it rolled off my tongue so easily.
''At least I know his name now...'' I couldn't help but muse to myself.
