Bullies
Identitas15. Omitting The Truth
I am attentively copying what the teacher is writing on the board as I notice a distracted Luhan. I look at him and see him staring at somewhere else as he’s on his own world, not minding to copy the teacher’s notes.
I poke his arm and make him come back to reality. “What are you thinking about?” I ask him as I continue to write on my notebook.
“Hum?” Luhan doesn’t catch what I say and looks at me.
“You’re not paying any attention to the class. Is there anything wrong?” I ask him again.
“No, I was just thinking,” he tells me as he looks at the board and finally decides to start copying.
“Thinking of what?”
“On how I am going to ask Ae Sook out today,” he answers me, with anxiety and concern in his words.
Luhan had told me and Jin Ri in the morning that he had made up his mind and would ask Ae Sook out today. Without even having the certainty that she likes him, he is going to ask her out today, no matter what. It will be the first step and he doesn’t want to ruin it. We had offered him help, but he declined saying that he wanted to do it himself. I and Ji Ri, as friends, accepted his choice and wished him luck.
“Well, why don’t you stop thinking about it and relax? I’m sure you’ll do fine and that she’ll accept. Just do it without putting too much thought in it. It will go better that way, believe me. Act natural and just be you. Girls like when guys are themselves,” I give him advices ignoring his earlier statement about doing things by himself.
I knew since the beginning that he wanted us to help. However, he would try to do it on his own before actually asking us for advices.
“Keep quiet,” the teacher says as he turns around to see the students who are talking. When he turns to the board Luhan gives me a smile and mouths a ‘thank you’.
The morning classes are over and we’re at our lunch time. As Jin Ri had told us she was going to leave her class a bit later, I and Luhan went to eat first.
We are peacefully eating in our table when suddenly the sound of a tray and ware hitting the floor is heard. The whole canteen stops to watch what’s happening. Like the others, I and Luhan also try to catch a glimpse of what’s going on.
“Watch your feet nerd,” a girl says to the victim laid on the floor, as she smirks evilly.
She’s also a senior like me, Luhan and Jin Ri and a member of the popular group of the school. The girls call themselves the RPF (Rich; Popular and Fabulous) group. It has never made sense to me, not excluding that it is totally pathetic how the name sounds.
The girls like to walk around with their expensive bags, jewels and heels. As they can’t wear anything but the school uniform, they show their money with their phones and clothes from very well-known brands, which they make sure to be the latest products in the market.
Like the badass ones they rule the school. However, they don’t fight physically (which the badass girls do). They’re mean in their own way: bringing others down with harsh words.
The other girls laugh along with the bully, while the girl, who apparently has been chosen for today’s bullying act, gets up and straightens herself.
When we get to see the victim’s face, I and Luhan gasp at the same time. Jin Ri has the food she was carrying on her clothes and is now trying to clean them with a napkin. When she finishes cleaning she puts the napkin on the girl’s food.
Shocked by Jin Ri’s action the girl’s jaw dropped, enable to say something.
We get up as soon as we realize that if we don’t take Jin Ri out of there, there will be a cats fight and it will be bloody (only from Jin
