Leave It To The Guys

Eun Ri sat on the floor with her robe and towel over her hair as she glared at her luggage

A whole new wardrobe and she couldn't decide what to wear? She was being ridiculous. The old Eun Ri wouldn't give too s about what she wore but now it was different. She was going out with Lay right now and in her mind, it was a make or break moment.

She sighed and threw a shirt in frustration. "What am I doing?" She growled finally choosing a simple white t-shirt and jean shorts since it was warm out. "I'm turning weak." She mumbled as she changed into her new outfit.

Heading into the bathroom, she blew dry her hair and brushed it out straight before going back to her luggage to throw on a pair of tan combat boots.

Finally finishing her outfit, she sighed happily before throwing herself on her bed. It had only been an hour since Lay had asked her to go for a walk. She pressed her lips into a thin line. She definitely rushed it because the male most likely wouldn't be back for another hour or so.

She slapped her forehead and rolled around on her bed wondering why the hell she got ready so quickly.

She frowned reaching over on her nightstand, grabbing the remote and turning on the TV. "Let's see what I can find for the next hour." She mumbled.

Lay sat in his room wondering where the hell Kris was. The male was suppose to be his room mate but to be honest, Lay hadn't seen him ever since they left the house.

Lay sat on the floor trying to choose what to wear. He was being irrational because Eun Ri wouldn't care what he wore because she liked him for him but he couldn't help but panic a bit.

Kris being the fashionista he is, was suppose to be Lay's help but the male was no where to be found. Lay pouted as he picked up a grey tank top and threw it over before pushing himself off the floor.

He kept looking at the clock, trying to choose a reasonable time to go meet her. Honestly he had been looking at the clock for over an hour, trying to decide on a time that didnt make him seem too eager or too laid back. He wanted to wait long enough that it would look like he wasnt too excited yet he didnt forget.

Noticing it had been about two hours, Lay nodded liking the time. He grabbed his room key and wallet before heading out the door to her room.

He stared at the carpet in front of him trying to decide what to say to her. "Hey Ri, ready to go for that walk?" Lay shook his head, too weird.

"Yo Ri Ri..." What the ? No.

"Hi Ri, are you— oof." Lay mumbled rubbing his forehead. He looked up and noticed he had already reached her door. He wiped his sweaty palms and knocked on her door. "R-Ri?"

No answer.

He bit his lip. Did she go somewhere since he took awhile? He knocked once again until he noticed her door wasnt fully closed. He pressed his lips into a thin line hoping that if she did go somewhere, none of her stuff was stolen.

He peeked his head inside and looked around before spotting her on her bed, nearly falling off with the TV blaring. He fully went inside, closing the door behind him. He took another look to finally realize she had fallen asleep.

He smiled a bit before creeping up to her, watching her as she slowly breathed. He noticed she was wearing bit more makeup than she usually would. Is it for me?

He smiled at the thought she went a little further with her style for him. Finally breaking out of his thought, he shook her shoulder a bit. "Ri? Wake up."

Eun Ri felt someone shaking her shoulder breaking up her dream. She whined a bit before nuzzling her face deeper into the bed. "Five more minutes Suho oppa..." She mumbled since Suho was the one to usually wake her up on weekends.

The shaking stopped and she heard a chuckle. Crinkling her nose, scrunching her face. What was he laughing at? "It's not Suho, Ri. It's Lay."

Her eyes suddenly popped wide open and she lifted her head, banging hers against his causing him to fall back. She groaned as she rubbed her forehead until she realized Lay was on the ground doing the same. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry Lay."

Lay shook his head and gave her a smile, "it's fine. I'm sorry I startled you."

Eun Ri smiled sheepishly and tried to fix her hair. "It's fine. Sorry, I fell asleep but just wondering, how did you get in?" She said noticing her room key was on her drawer.

Lay pushed himself off the ground before helping her up. "Your door was slightly open. You got to be careful Ri. It could've been someone else that wasnt one of our members that got in."

Eun Ri blushed remember she was probably a bit too excited to close the door fully. "A-Ah...yeah, my bad." She said stretching her arms.

"You wanna head out now?" Lay asked. Eun Ri nodded quickly grabbing her room key. "Sure."

The two headed out of the lodge and made their way down near the lake. This time Eun Ri didn't know why, but the silence was a comfortable one. The two just walked side by side in a peaceful silence exchanging a few words on how nice the scenery was. Eun Ri felt relaxed with him this time, nothing to be afraid of and she hoped this feeling would stay.

Occasionally, she'd glance at him and smile. She noticed he had a grey tank top on that showed off his newly forming biceps, and paired it with a pair of jeans and sneakers. He looked casual yet absolutely amazing.

Once they got half way around the lake, they were chattering up a storm.

"And what about Ms.Lee? God, I am so glad we don't have class with her for the next week." Lay laughed. Eun Ri nodded in agreement, "She's a witch. I swear."

The two nodded agreeing that the art teacher looked like a legit witch with her straw like hair and pointy nose. Eun Ri laughed as Lay did an impression of her.

"And what about our gym teacher? I swear, I think he hates me cause he doesn't like how Im more athletic than some of his best guys." Eun Ri complained remembering how the male teacher glared at her when she beat Kai around the race track.

"No one could hate you Ri. Just jealousy." Lay said. Eun Ri smiled and an idea popped into her mind, "Hey, I know this is random but want to race to the end of the lake? To that tree?"

Lay looked at her and shrugged. "Why not." Eun Ri smiled mischievously, "Let's see if you've improved."

"Please, I think I've gotten better than you." He teased back. The two stopped walking and got into their running stances.

"Don't be sad when you eat my dust Zhang Yixing." She laughed. Lay melted at the way she said his name and smirked back, "In your dreams Go Eun Ri."

The two began to run quickly as they ran towards the tree. Eun Ri loved the way the warm air hit against her skin, not being too hot. She could see from the corner of her eye Lay was just next to her.

She stuck her tongue out and saluted playfully before running quicker. She pumped her legs to the bone, not caring if she was ruining her new shoes.

When she was mid way, she turned around seeing Lay was quickly catching up. Right when she turned around, she slammed into someone hard.

"." The person beneath her groaned. Her eyes widened when she realized she knocked someone down. She could hear Lay calling her name from behind.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, I— Luhan?" Eun Ri said noticing the male underneath her was none other than Luhan.

"Get off me." He hissed trying to ignore the pulsating pain from the back of his head.

She quickly got off, helping him up and dusting off his clothes. Soon Lay caught up and saw his best friend. "Luhan?!"

Luhan winced at the pain he got for getting knocked on the gravely sand near the lake. When he arrived, he knew he would get a nice greeting but not a tackle to the ground. And especially not by Eun Ri.

"C'mon, let's to back to the lodge to get you fixed up." Eun Ri said feeling bad about knocking him down at such great force. Luhan didn't fight back because right now all he wanted was an ice pack.

"So what are you doing here?" Chen asked.

"How did you get here?" Suho asked.

"Where's Kris ge?" Tao asked.

"Guys, let him breathe." Eun Ri said as she gave him an ice pack. Honestly, she pushed aside all hard feelings and just wanted to start off nicely with Luhan before anything could further happen. It was holiday and she just rammed the poor guy down and she knew he took a hard hit.

Luhan muttered a soft thanks and decided he'd also push away all hard feelings. The only reason he came was to make up with Eun Ri.

It was these kind of moments where the both of them gave in and forgave each other. There was no need for awkward words, it was just a mutual feeling they shared.

Luhan placed the ice pack on his head and winced. "Kris is back home first of all." The male had actually turned around when they got to school, secretly slipping away and going home. Kris knew that Luhan truly didn't want to stay home and was being irrational so he decided to go back to allow the older to go.

"Kris gave me his ticket to let me come here, so I came with my bike." He mumbled trying to ignore the aching pain in his back. "That's really it."

Everyone just nodded as Suho dialed up Kris to check on him. Everyone didnt question the male and just let him be.

"Well it's great that you're here now Lu." Xiumin said patting his shoulder gently. Everyone began to disperse, exchanging words on how happy they were that he was here now and left to go continue their own things.

Eun Ri, Lay and Luhan were the last three in the lobby. Feeling a bit awkward around them, Eun Ri excused herself to go back to her room and rest before dinner.

Luhan waved and sighed, feeling a bit disappointed he couldn't apologize in person yet. He decided that later, he'd definitely apologize. Lay smiled and helped him up. "So I guess we're rooming?"

Luhan nodded. "I already dropped off my stuff in there before i bumped into you guys."

Lay nodded as they made their way to their room. "So, you changed your mind?" Luhan just nodded, trying to really wrap his head around ever hung that happened.

Lay and Eun Ri were together. From a further distance, Luhan had seen the two just walking. They seemed happy but they werent holding hands or anything. When he had finally built up the courage to face them, Eun Ri had knocked him down and that all lead up to now.

"So you and Eun Ri. Did you ask her yet?" Luhan said as they entered their room. Lay blushed and shook his head as he jumped onto his own bed.

"Not yet."

"When do you plan to ask her?" Luhan said as he climbed onto his own bed. He felt terrible at this point, but he didnt want Lay to ask her out. Luhan regretted everything he told Lay to do to help him get Eun Ri because he didnt want Lay and Eun Ri to go out.

Lay blushed and hid his cheeks. "Are you trying to embarrass me Lu?" Lay chuckled lightly. "I don't know, maybe in the next few days before the dance? I don't want it to be too rushed like you said."

Luhan just nodded.

Lay smiled dreamily and it crushed Luhan's heart. "I was thinking of maybe warming up to her the next few days by hanging out, maybe treating her, I don't know." Lay said. "Can you help me now that you're here Lu?" Lay said.

Luhan stared at his best friend. Lay's dimpled smile, doe eyes and over all innocence was strangling Luhan. He was a terrible best friend.

"Sure Xing."

"You're the best Luhan!" Lay chirped happily before falling back in bed and turning on the TV. "I don't know what I would do without you."

No I'm not Yixing. You don't want me around.

Eun Ri made her way down to the dining hall and met up with the rest of EXO who was waiting for her. Dinner was being served like a buffet so the group found a large table that would fit all 12 of them.

Eun Ri put her sweat shirt on her seat when she noticed Luhan stood across from her, placing his jacket there. She looked at him quickly before turning away.

Though she technically forgave him, it just felt weird to be around him. She began to walk away and grab dinner.

Dinner anywhere with EXO was the same. Flinging of food, loud chatter, hearty laughs and fun memories were brought up. No matter where they ate, it would be the same.

She picked at her chicken as she laughed along with the rest of the guys. Sometimes she'd glance at Luhan quickly and notice he was deeply immersed into thought. She didnt know how many times the other guys had to remind him not to dip his fries into his drink. What's bothering you Luhan?

Dinner soon ended and the rest of the school just hung around the dining lodge since it was the one who overlooked the lake the closest. It had mutliple balconies and porches that neared the lake and stairs that lead down directly to the lake on a private, tucked away beach area.

Eun Ri found herself straying away from the noise and made her way down the stairs, staring up at the balcony that roofed over the small secluded area.

The small sandy area held a few lawn chairs, an extinguished fire pit and a nice view of the lake. She walked along the edge where the water barely touched the edge of her sneakers and went to sit on one of the lawn chairs.

The night was cooler than the day and she liked it. No one else was in the small area and she could finally sit in peace. Not like she didnt like being with her friends but sometimes people could overwhelm her.

She pulled her knees up to her chin and stared at the water. Today definitely was something. At first Lay was in her mind but now she had Luhan too and this time he stayed there. Seeing him suddenly appear definitely surprised her and she was happy? Relieved? Shocked? She didn't really know.

As she was deep in her thoughts, she failed to notice footsteps coming down the stairs. The person coughed, breaking her train of thought.

When she looked up, she saw Luhan making his way towards her and sitting down next to her on an empty lawn chair.

The air was constricted and it felt hard for the both of them to breathe. It was awkward and tense and both of them were wishing someone would say something already or at least have something interrupt the silence.

Eun Ri played with her hands before deciding this was ridiculous. She shouldn't be nervous around him because she had no reason too.

"Hey—"
"Hi—"

They said at the same time. Eun Ri closed before motioning for him to talk. He came down to talk to her so he should start at least.

But to her surprise, Luhan motioned for her to talk instead. The two stared at each other trying to show that the other could speak.

"I just wanted to—"
"Did you need something—"

Eun Ri pressed her lips into a thin line before she heard a chuckle. She looked up and saw Luhan trying to hold back a small grin. Oddly enough, she began to laugh lightly too.

The two didnt know what was so funny but it beat being at each other's throats trying to kill each other. Eun Ri's laughter died out and a small frown formed on the corner of her lips. Why couldn't she and Luhan always be like this?

Luhan must have noticed her expression because he cleared his throat and tapped her shoulder lightly. "Hey."

"Hi..." She mumbled. Now that the laughter was gone and there was nothing to distract them, she realized how damn awkward it was between them.

"God why is this so awkward?!" Luhan said outloud. The tips of his ears turned pink and burned when he realized he said his thoughts out loud. He must have not realized it until he noticed Eun Ri's shocked expression from his sudden outburst.

"Sorry— I mean...okay I don't know what I mean." Luhan grumbled rubbing his temples.

Eun Ri had no idea what he was rambling on about and just sat awkwardly, avoiding his eyes.

"Eun Ri?" He called to her. For some reason, his voice was softer, almost having an apologetic sound to it.

She hummed in response but she didnt want to speak to him really. It was still awkward and tense between them yet. She didnt really know how to approach the guy who called her a when she was only being concerned for his best friend. Sure she was tough but some things can really get to you, not matter how strong and cold you were.

"I'm sorry."

She crinkled her eyebrows and continued to stare at her shoes.

"Eun Ri, are you listening?" Luhan sighed. He was trying his best here. After she left without them making up, he felt regret. He had been a jerk to her countless of times but the fights were never left unsolved. Especially since she was going away, they'd technically be in a fight for almost a week or two and he didnt know how that really made him felt. All he knew, he felt bad.

When she didnt answer, he sighed and ruffled his bangs before getting up to leave. It was obvious she didnt want to forgive him. He knew what he did was wrong so maybe this was karma coming back to him and punishing him. He didnt know why he cared so much but having Eun Ri mad at him made him feel like he just killed hundreds of people.

Before he left, Eun Ri grabbed his wrist pulling him down. He couldn't help but break into a smile when she turned towards him and actually looked at him for the first time.

"Thank you Luhan for apologizing." She said. She was trying her best not to sound weak and submissive because honestly, the moment Luhan said sorry, she felt happier, like a weight was taken off her chest. But she'd never admit it.

"And I'm sorry too. I didnt mean to push it, it's just Lay means—"

Before she could finish, Luhan squeezed her arm lightly. She smiled thinking he understood when in reality, he didnt want to hear how much another man meant to her. A man that wasnt him.

"C'mon, let's go back inside before they think we're beating each other up." Luhan chuckled trying to rid of the awkwardness and jealousy growing inside him.

Eun Ri smiled and nodded in agreement before walking with Luhan back upstairs to meet their friends.

Luhan shoved his hands in his pockets trying to ignore Chen and Baekhyun's teasing about how pink cheeked he was when he was walking upstairs with Eun Ri. He couldn't help but smile a bit but he tried to keep his cold demeanor. "I just didnt want to deal with a fight on my vacation." He said quieter so Eun Ri wouldn't hear.

Chen and Baekhyun frowned in disappointment thinking their friend was going to just admit he liked her already but they just shook their heads and dismissed themselves.

Everyone could see it, but Luhan didn't want them to believe it. He had fallen for Eun Ri, the girl who he hated at first, and now the only thing he hated about her was how she made him so weak with one smile, one laugh, one glance.

It only hurt him more when she smiled, laughed and looked at Lay the rest of the night.
