Good Goods, Bad Bads
Stranded
“I hit the motherload!!” Yunho shouted triumphantly. Wooyoung looked up, surprised. What had he found? His curiosity got the better of him, so he jumped up and ran to greet him. Wow! He had all kinds of stuff, a teddy bear, a sandwich, perfume, make-up, sunglasses, 2 cans of beer and a deck of cards in a sealed plastic bag. “What... how..?” Wooyoung spurted out, too surprised to say anything more coherent. “I found the duty-free cart!!” Yunho's smile went from ear to ear, his teeth so bright that staring straight at them hurt Wooyoung's eyes. “There's way more where this came from! Where should I put this, I've got to get back out there before I forget the right spot!” Yunho said urgently, all fired up. Every one of his muscles looked pumped and ready to pounce, making him able to catch his prey in one fell swoop, ripping its throat open without mercy. Wooyoung got chills. He tried to shake the image out of his head, but it haunted him.
“Give it here, I'll put it in your square.” Wooyoung smiled his sweetest of smiles and held out his hands, making a basket out of them so all the stuff would fit. “er!” he whispered, giggling under his breath as he watched Yunho return to sea. As if he was going to put this all in Yunho's square. He chuckled to himself, impressed by his own ingenious scheme.
Overexcited, he half jumped half ran to Minjun. After a joyous high-five, Wooyoung made a new square in the sand and marked it 'Woo' and proceeded to dump all of Yunho's stuff within its four sand-edged walls. “So you're prepared to face the wrath of Yunho, are you?” Minjun said so dramatically that he sounded exactly like a comic villain. Wooyoung hadn't thought that far. The things were quite easily recognized, so it might look a bit obvious. He moved it all over to Yunho's square, but instead stole small things from the others to put in his new shiny square. Imagining the face of Taecyeon when he realized that he had beaten him without even putting as much as his little toe in the water gave him goose bumps. Although, if he were to 'help' Taecyeon win, wouldn't he owe him then? Wouldn't he have to be good to him and do as he said? Hmm, that didn't sound half bad.
Nichkhun took a giant gulp of air, coughing a bit. He had dived a little too far, so his air had run out before he reached the surface. Exhausted he swam to shore, at least he had found something useful, a rucksack. He didn't know whose it was, but they would soon find out. He was about to dump it in his square, when he noticed Chansung had almost nothing in his. It looked so pathetic and lonely, that Nichkhun placed the backpack in it instead of his own square. He could always find more stuff.
Where was he anyway? He hadn't seen a hint of him in quite a while. He scanned the surface, spotting a familiar silhouette a bit far out. Should he be going that far out? Nichkhun worried. And what was he doing? His head hadn't moved at all, he wasn't diving, nor swimming. No matter how Nichkhun thought about it, something was off. He ran as fast he could and jumped into the ocean, using his last ounce of strength to reach Chansung. “Hyung!” Chansung said with a wide but tired smile. “What the hell are you doing?” Nichkhun was too tired to sugarcoat his worries. Chansung looked sheepishly back at him, he appeared to be in pain. “I uhm.. got a leg cramp.” he grinned embarrassedly.
Nichkhun's heart skipped a beat. A leg cramp! He could've drowned!! “Here, grab my shoulders, quick!” Nichkhun turned around, he was going to swim with him to shore. Chansung did what he was told, trying to let himself float so he wouldn't be as much of a burden to him. With every Nichkhun got angrier. By the time they reached shore he couldn't see straight, smoke coming out of his nose. As he massaged Chansung's leg, he couldn't contain it any longer. “What were you thinking!?! What did I tell you!! You HAVE to listen to your body for once, it was totally exhausted and deadbeat after the ordeal you've been through. You should never have...” Nichkhun trembled with anger, not able to say another word. He could have died. Not the pretend kind like you see on TV, but DIED died. Died and never come back. Leaving him all alone in this harsh godforsaken world. Breaking him into a million different pieces and not even bothering to stay for the clean up. How could he be so reckless?!
“I just wanted to help..” Chansung pleaded in a soft quiet voice. He looked like a cute little puppy that knew he had done something wrong, but was hoping its owner would take pity on him. He was cute, way too cute, but Nichkhun was not going to be swayed by that. He needed to set an example so that Chansung would think twice before going against him again. “Well, sometimes you need to help yourself, you know..” his voice trembled, he was out of fire. He was just happy that he was okay.
“Ouch! Hyuuung, that's a little too.. OUCH... not so hard!!” Chansung all but yelled. He knew Nichkhun was mad, but he didn't have to torture him though. But Nichkhun wasn't even paying attention to him, his stare was fixed on something behind him. Wow, he was glad he wasn't the receiver of that death stare, but he was curious as to who it was that was about to join the land of the dead. He strained his neck, trying to get a peek. Someone was walking towards them. He could only make out the outlines, but he knew instantly. Yunho. There was no one with as majestic a walk as him. He walked like he owned the beach, and he kind of did.
As Yunho drew nearer, Nichkhun sprang to his feet. Chansung couldn't be sure, but he could swear Nichkhun was shaking. What was going on? He was about to stand up to see if he could calm him down, when Yunho arrived. “Hey, what's up? Find anything good?” Yunho was in good spirits. “You..!” Nichkhun started, his voice guttural from rage, “HOW COULD YOU!”. Yunho looked like he had just been slapped hard in the face with a wet towel. He clearly had no idea what was going on. Before he had the chance to voice his confusion, Nichkhun continued. “He could have drowned! He was in no condition to go diving, and you friggin knew it! How could you not know it?! He had been lost at sea for an entire night, where was he going to get the strength to dive for goods? It was not like it was life or death, we could've managed fine the rest of us!” Nichkhun spoke fast and loud, his spit being sprayed all over poor Yunho.
Chansung used the opportunity as Nichkhun stopped for air. He had tried to get up, but his leg was still cramping, so he tugged on Nichkhun's trousers. “Hyung, it's only a tiny cramp, no biggie. And it was me that insisted...”. It was no use, Nichkhun wasn't listening or just didn't care. “Are you not the self proclaimed boss around here? How about taking a second out of your busy schedule of being a stuck up know it all to actually look out for the people around you, hah?! Would that be so hard?!?” Nichkhun threw his words in Yunho's face. He then grabbed Chansung's wrist and hoisted him up, storming away as fast as Chansung could limp. Yunho, that had finally recovered from the initial shock of it all, yelled back “It WAS life and death, it was Seunghyun's life, and Chansung might've just saved it!!”.
