Arriving

Bittersweet Coffee

"Wow~~ everything feels so different!," breathed your best friend, Lee Seo Chan ,"I'm breathing...I'm breathing the same air as KIM MYUNG SOO."

Maybe everything felt different because it was colder than the climate in Australia. I rolled my eyes at noone in particular as Seo Chan danced around, garnering the attention of many Koreans. People were already staring at both of us as it was onvious we didn't live here.

We were on a 4 week holiday here in South Korea, my home country. I had left when I barely knew this place, travelling all over the world becuase of issues relating to business as my parents had told me.

My best friend, Lee Seo Chan had never been overseas. She had lived in Australia her whole life, the land where everyone thought we rode on kangaroos to school. Even though she was Korean, this was her first time in South Korea. She viewed it as 'the land where the god, Kim Myung Soo lived'. In case you didn't know, she was a hardcore Kim Myung Soo Fangirl minus the Saesang-ness.

Anyways, after I managed to calm her down, we set off to the streets, hauling our heavy- suitcases behind. We didn't want to catch a taxi. There was so much to do and so much to see in such little time. Plus, it saved us money in the long run.

"Seo Chan~~~ wait for me," I called as she sped ahead pulling her suitcase as it it was empty. Wait, why did my suitcase feel so heavy of a sudden? I had no time to wonder as she was already halfway down the street.

"Seo Chan, did you put some of your luggage into my suitcase?." Glaring at her, you made an angry face.

"Aw man, I only did it to make room for my Kim Myung Soo mercahndise. Yunno, in case I see him and I want an autograph?," She said as-a-matter-of-factly.

"Kay, excuse accepted but once we get to the hotel, you got to take your stuff back," I laughed.

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted under my nose. I looked across the road to see a grand looking hotel looming over a cosy and homey cafe- well I think it was a cafe- I couldn't read in Korean.

I suddently felt hungry and called to Seo Chan only to realise she had already beat me to it. I sighed. She had the energy of a 5 Year old yet she was already 18-an adult- like me. Running after her in the most unladylike manner, I heard squeals of brakes as cars halted to avoid crashing into me.

"Seo Chan you're so dead,'I muttered half panting, half fuming. Bells tinkled as I pushed open the glass doors.
